:) many epic races back then mate, silverstone GP by far my fav to. We had such a good group back then to, all fast and very clean 👍

There is just so much cheating at Silverstone though, so much so that I normally don't even bother with it online anymore, even though it's one of my favourite tracks. :irked:

Last night I thought I'd give it a chance again, but sure enough when the only guy left in the race (and supposedly behind me) suddenly appeared shooting across the track in front of me from god knows where, and showed a 10 secs advantage on the lap....time to go.:grumpy:

I had the same episode every time when i was practice to Porsche World Series with some random dudes. This gives me so much wanted on-line time play to my trophy but i just can't do it anymore. Those let's say crash kids when they see a fast guy, stop their car and wait. Turn car around and try to crash into me.

No more online for me, no platinum trophy either, i have no patient to wait in stupid duel mode.

I know I'm fast, i know if the game wont freeze on me i could have some records but i am glad that new F1 2011 game comes in this month :) Slightly large change of climax :)

We should all do a TT at SPA next weekend (9/17/11) Use the Gumpert Apollo so everybody will have the same car :)

There definitely is lots of cheating at Silverstone. We had a group of approximately 10 racers in the days of Shift and would usually get about 4-5 of us in a lobby thanks to the invite system. If cheating ever became a problem with other racers who would join the lobby we would just go private. Sadly Shift 2 never was as popular with the group and we haven't had the quality of the races we had back in the days of Shift. Hopefully EA gets it right on Shift 3

oh sorry if you lost your mind Ricky mate

I don't mind losing but I can't stand beating myself, very rarely I let emotion come out in racing but some of those races back then were intense. The margin of error was so slim you could go from first place to third place by slightly blowing a corner. Damn good times reeling in the leader or feeling the pressure of being the front runner :)

That'll make it my 60th birthday then. 👍

Had a quick few races on Shift1 today, and was quite pleasantly surprised at the handling set-up on my old Lambo Murci.

Hooked up with a group of good guys and had some fun.

Then came Spa, and a newcomer to the group who promptly started using all the cheats.

I'm wise to it now though, and he still ended up in last place....c:censored:t

OK...I´ll try to get the Apollo ready for Spa during the week - if you let me participate.
What time would you start racing?

I like Zonda R much better and I don't think we are be able to use the same car. We all have different driving styles. Some prefer more sliding and others more grip.

But I'll try to dig up my game and try set Gumpert ready for SPA. So I'm in 👍

I'm good with anytime between 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. EST, I'll let the Europeans weigh in on what time works best for them since it's such a big time difference. Everybody in this thread is welcome to join in...

I did some practice and find out that Gumpert is impossible to tune :ouch: Well not exactly but i guess it's my aggressive driving style makes this car so unstable and incredibly nervous. But ill find a way to "tame" it.

Saturday I'm doing Bicycle marathon and after that I'll be available from 10 a.m. in Canada/Central time. That's 5 pm for me :)

I find that I need stability control on with the Gumpert (but not on the Bugatti), and then I can do more or less anything with it, only a couple of seconds off the Bugatti pace. The brakes are superb, and much more life-like on the Apollo IMO.

I've used Terronium's works set-up, which I just change gearing on for tracks with very long straights.

This race will be in the private mode and the TT will start at 11:00 a.m. PST, 2:00 EST, 7:00 p.m. London time & 8:00 p.m Frankfurt time on Saturday September 17th. Most likely do 2-15 minute TT's and maybe one race if everybodys up to it. We will be using the Gumpert Apollo Works version, should rate out at 2354.

The reason I picked the Apollo is because I thought everybody would be very close with that car since it's one of the easier cars to drive and I expect the winning time to be around the 2:04 range. It's definitely not one of my favorite cars, little too grippy for me.

Anybody who's in on the TT just send me a friend request RickyRacer1 sometime this week.

The following racers is who I have so far:

RickyRacer1
Steve182rs
Maddin
grahamw56
Zeeco_9

I think my head just exploded. I cant control that b***h for the life of me!! :odd:

Just a quick reminder for everybody to be on time, once I send out the first invite, there will only be 2 minutes for everybody to join...

You can stop the timer. Just raise the minimum amount of required players to be more than those you invite.

OK...I got a setup for the Apollo that I´m comfy with...any clue how fast would OK? No exact numbers just a hint - faster than 2:10...2:05...2:00???
I don´t want to be a roadblock on saturday - and i´m really looking forward to the event!

Thanks! I haven't raced online very much to figure out the little tricks.

Friend request has been sent out to all participants...
