Wow! Support is awsome! Then again frustration level rises...thats 10s faster then what I did so far...I knew I wasn´t the fastest but thats dimensions away...

@ Maddin: Dont worry, that Steve guy has several world records... (Damn feels strange to answer a fellow german in english)

@ Steve: Nice soundtrack! :D

I know it's not much in such esteemed company, but further reduced my Spa time in the Veyron to 2.01.521.

So next...sub-2 mins. I know I can do it. :)

As for Steve's time in the GT3....amazing !

2:07:325 in McLaren F1, manual, abs only...probably will be it. The F1 is a beast and input lag really shows in the 2000+ cars for me using a DS3 which is annoying.

Hi Steve - the vid shows your GT3 uses a turbo. I had mine totally conventional - no turbo/no Nitro. That should make up a few seconds at least.
Still great driving - I found a couple of corners I need to go faster.

Yes i found it quicker with a turbo, Nitro isn't available. Im sure it would do 215s which is close to GTR speed really. 👍

With the turbo charger you can go at least 6 seconds quicker. Why i didn't noticed that :ouch:

Sure the Turbo is quicker - but my aim was to run it without a charger.
But I guess I´ll give it a shot with the charger sometime.
Most important thing is I have a reference time and even have a vid that shows me where I need to go faster.

Well, I actually won a race at Mt.Panorama in the Porsche WITHOUT the turbo against good B-class opposition...by the skin of my teeth because the Audi FSIs (as I would normally use) were hunting me down on the looooonnng straight. Talk about an exciting race ! The Porsche was actually superior on the series of downhill bends.

Hey graham - would u mind giving me your PSN-Nick (or u just contact me if u like) - maybe we can race together sometime?

Yes, Porsche's are very fun to drive. And there is so many of them.

@Maddin:

I'm on Xbox live, but I use my son's nick.

I prefer not to give it out, just in case I've upset anyone....which seems very easy on Xbox online. Some real idiots on there, even though I do my utmost to race fair.

As suggested on here, I've improved my times by knocking off traction control and stability control.

It can make some of the RWD cars a bit of a handful though.

2.16 with the MC12 GT1 in a race this evening.

Don't know whether that's good bad or indifferent, but I won against what seemed like some reasonable drivers. :)

1. Take the clean sheet of paper and a pen/pencil.
2. Go to Time Trial, set 20 minutes.
3. Pick your car, no rivals just you on track.
4. Drive as fast as you can through this time, DO NOT QUIT !!! Finish entire session. This don't has to be that long, you could set for 15 or even 10 minutes. But finish your session!

5. When you're done, you will see your laps, and split times. Write down your Best Lap time and this is important! Write down ONLY BEST SPLIT TIMES.

6.1. It may happen that best first split time would be in third lap.
6.2. It may happen that best second split time would be in fifth lap.
6.3. It may happen that best third best split time would be in first lap.

It should look like this. First and second best split time is accidently on third lap. But then last best split time is on fifth lap

Write them down on your paper, and take simple calculator. Add them together. (37.770 + 59.091 + 44.413) You may get this kind of of result. 141,274 That means if you could join those best split times together in one lap, then your result would be much quicker than your best lap time which is 2:21.508* (Porsche GT3 RS 1493, no turbo). But you could do 2:21.274

From now on, every time you do another session, try to find quicker split time and cross the old one. Re-calculate new result and you will know what you are capable on this track. What could be really done with this car.

This is insanely hard to beat all your best split times in one fast lap. Even the smallest mistake in one corner may cost you. But it's not impossible :)

I'll hope this helps a little to improve your practice a little. Every time I'm tunning my cars i use this method to find out what is my goal. And when i finally see on paper, the lap i would be happy with, then there is full time attack in time trial.

Thanks ussr, I will definitely do that.👍

I agree of course that all of those 'little' errors add up to a BIG difference, and and so satisfying to get a corner and then a section just right. :)
You see this clearly in real F1 qualifying.

In a race it's kind of a double-edged sword, because although the adrenaline really sharpens up your thought processes, at the same time you can make errors too because of nerves and pressure....just as a really good guy did right in front of me yesterday on Road America. I thought I was going to lose to him, but didn't because of that one small error. Usually it's me that's spinning on the last corner though. So much nerve-control needed in this game to maintain the precision. :)

Exactly and that is caused by opponents. If you have only the clock to beat you automatically calm down to a rather analytical and calm Jackie Stewart state of mind, I feel. Which is up 1 second faster for me.

Everybody no matter how good or how bad a racer has one of those stories. Your post reminded me of one of my worst experiences of chocking. Me and Steve 182 hooked up for 5 laps at Silverstone GP in a 14 rated dogfight. I took holeshot at my favorite track and proceeded to run 4 3/4 of the most perfect laps you can run at Silverstone with all lap times being around the 1:41/1:42 range. With time's like that it's enough to smoke most racers but unfortunately I had Steve in my mirror never over 3 seconds away.

Sadly this race didn't have the classic Disneyland feel good ending for me when I took the last turn a bit wide momentarily touching the kitty litter. That was all he needed as his momentum took him past me and beat me by a car length 🤬 As the checkered flag came out I screamed and cursed loud enough to send my dogs running from the room and a startled wife proclaiming I lost my mind :grumpy:

:) many epic races back then mate, silverstone GP by far my fav to. We had such a good group back then to, all fast and very clean 👍

OK...small steps. Got a 2:25,512 @Spa with the Porsche. But still a lot of work to do - hope I can find the time...
Best Sectors would be 2:24,623...
