Here's a video of san Jose's version of cars and coffee this video is part 1 of three. Starting at 0:34 it pans the shop in which my car was worked on including my car on a lift. A lot of nice cars showed up of all kinds.

Saw your car! Cool gathering..... I really wish there was more of that around here, but small towns and all that, we get very little exposure to the finer things of life. :)

What amazes me is while I was watching the video with my kids (ages 3 and 8), their favorite car out of all the cars was the blue Corvette. Go figure.... :D

Yeah its a cool gathering they put on and its free. Hopefully for the next one I can actually show mine. :D

Nothing wrong with the vette! ;) More affordable then the Ferraris and McLarens anyway. :P

Nice vid. The Jag XJ220 near the beginning  <3<3<3

Yeah I saw that that day. It was gorgeous.

In other news.... I've suddenly grown a strong yearn to ride a street bike. Not too big like a 600. Anyone have experience?

I never got an email so I assume they never dynoed it which is fine I suppose I'm out of the country so they probably don't put it as high priority but looks like they were showing it off at this Saturdays cars and caffeine. The video is about the lambo but you'll see it in the background. Would like to see the numbers though. :indiff:

I started out on a '92 Yamaha FZR600. It wasn't that bad it made good power and still handled okay. But if you go used make sure you check everything out. And if possible bring someone that actually KNOWS what their talking about. Life lesson... As far as the whole "start on something small debate" all in all do what you feel you can handle. If you mess up that would be "biting off more than you can chew". In my opinion that is. :)

What about a Ninja 250R? I saw spirit hockey got one and he's quite happy with it. I want to be safe but at the same time get something underpowered and dull.

So I did a check of the shops videos on YouTube and found a non descript video of them doing a Dyno pull. No numbers or anything. Was posted only 10 hours ago.

If you were literally wanting something "safe, underpowered and dull"
get a scooter! :dopey:

As for the 250R ,Fantastic starter bike, I've never ridden one but its has decent get up and go. I mean, like the article said pretty much any motorcycle is as fast as some sporty cars.( I still want to race Flamve in his vette vs the 500) But don't put too much money down for one since its not going to be your only motorcycle.

Then again if you go with a Kawasaki 500 or similar sport bike with 40-70hp you may not outgrow it as fast and should get a newer one. For example my GF has been riding all but a month now and she thinks that she is ready to leave the 500. I asked her "have you even taken it to 11k?" she says "no I just don't like shifting through all the gears":ouch: I've had a talk with her since then. But she practiced on Flamves GSX-R750 we just told her not to open the throttle all the way.

Anyway what I'm getting at is starting on a smaller bike enables you to feel confident about what the machine could do and just get used to everything. When you started driving would you in your right mind start off with your supercharged mustang?:dopey:

Also:tup: that they put a video out without telling the owner.:)

Woops! Typo, mean't not something under powered and dull.

motortrend
Crank or whp? Whp is not really bad but it would seem low if it is crank hp

That's to the ground. Seems low to me but the tune limits the engine to 6200rpm. It strains the engine less and after driving it its tons of power for the street to me. It would make a good amount of power more if it was raised to 6500rpm. The graph shows the power climbing strong even at 6200rpm.

That's gotta be impressive when you drop the hammer.... Just curious, any idea what your car weights now?

That will do the trick. Honda also has the CBR250R. Honda man here.... just had to mention it.

The hp on the dyno run looks like a good streatable and harm free rating, should be great for prolonging the car's now modded life.

That's a good question, I gained weight with the s/c probably but I also shaved some weight with the fiberglass hood.

I havent had the cojones yet to take TC off but its a hell of a ride even with it on. :scared:

I bet it is! I was just trying to get a grip on what it must feel like with your skin peeling away from the bone when the tires finally grip the pavement..... :scared:

Tell you what, it will cost you giving me a ride, but you are welcome to use my grain elevator scale to weight your car. You can even stay in it to get total net weight. :D

Deal! Now only to sort out the logistics to get me and the car there...

...Aaaand finally here is the dyno sheet.

As you can see if it was allowed all the way to 6500rpm it still put out a little more HP.

I'm kind of surprised it only made 442 lb/ft of torque. I can't imagine it wouldn't be enough to roast a set of rear tires and/or pin you back in your seat, though. Nice car 👍
