I managed to get 2:13.4.
Did not adjust anything and used the DS3.
What parts are actually upgradeble?

And whats all this fuss about SRF? I do not know what it does, and I also don't know if I have it turned on.

I got to #1595 lol. Could have been faster because i got like 1.5 sec ahead of my old ghost and then lost 1.2s by taking a crappy corner way to hard.

Not sure what all the fuss is about. Great fun car to drive and golded this in 4 laps! Job done.

Some neat marketing, this yellow M4 comes out in GT6 the day before the local news auto section website carries the promo announcement from BMW announcing the new M4, same colors same wheels, although the promo pics look a lot better than GT6.

I came about 0.7 seconds away from gold so far after trying much longer than I care to admit. Can't for the life of me figure out how to squeeze out any more time.

Even though beating the Gold time gives 50,000 cr, I got 100,000 cr when I timed a lap of 2:16.xxx.

Don't know how I got double credits, when there is no log in bonus.

It's a combination of the bronze, silver, and gold prizes. You get all the prize credits added together.

Keep trying..took me 5-6 tries but i finally got 2:17.1 with a DS3

I got better results when I used bumper cam. I normally use cockpit view. I was 3 seconds quicker :odd:

Meh, I'm not that fussed about ranking, but it would be nice to know what the fastest SRF-off times are. I'm pleased we can do it without Skid Recovery Force, maybe the next step is to be able to filter the rankings.

I thought I'd give the Beemer a try. Saw my friends times and the best was 6 seconds off the pace which I thought was a bit weird. I'm usually about 2-3 seconds out if I make an honest effort. I couldn't get within 6 seconds!!! I was starting to think I was losing my touch and everyone else had the physics figured out but me. I watched the Doodle's replay and he carried so much more speed through the corners it was crazy. Finally realized all the top guys had SRF on:lol: but I didn't remember switching it off. Now I don't feel so bad being 6 seconds out:lol:

I opened it up,(make sure you remember where everything was!) took everything out. Put it back in.(didn't change anything). It didn't work, so I tried doing the same thing one more time, and it worked. Haven't had the problem since.(I'm on DFGT)

I'll post what I posted on cargo's page as I had the issue.

About your issues with the brake sticking, if you use the DFGT like I do, you should calibrate the brake first. Do it when you've loaded a race and you're on the rolling start (before it's counted down), just depress your brake fully then your acc and you should have no problems then on. I had the same issue, did that and nothing since, was a godsend.

Will probs work with others.

Just took it for a spin and got Bronze. Great car, very happy with it. Will have to give this a proper go once I fix my sticky brake pedal. :grumpy: Its sticking just enough to slow me down. It only happens after I apply the brakes, showing about 1/4 brake pressure on the HUD display. If I tap the brakes, it releases the rest of the way. I think I may need to clean them inside or blow them out. Any suggestions on this. Thanks.

You may need to open up your pedals and try to clean out and lubricate the tracks or contacts of the potentiometers. Don't know what kind of pedals you have, but look up cleaning instructions and videos on the Internent for more information. Fanatec Clubsport pedals have "contactless" magnetic sensors which usually don't have this problem, but excessive dust or pet hair can impede their operation. They can be cleaned with a good vacuum and a small brush attachment.

So I see, in order to be competitive with the rest of the masses, I must turn on SRF. No thanks

Yea, I got it sorted out, at least for now. Thanks for your response.

The best I could do after about 30 laps is an 2:14:008. No aids other than abs 1.
I'm looking for friends that don't use srf. add me on psn: Efro_88

Don't be so bloody sanctimonious Cargo, if you're not prepared to use what is available to get your best time so be it. Who gives a rats.

I note however that Doodles and The Bandit are availing themselves, using the legal means offered, to get their best times. Like I expect the vast majority of players will be.

No one complains when SRF is turned off in TT's etc, we just get on with what is available.
If you don't want to use all the legal means available to you here, go for it, we'll all think you are a champion for denying yourself.

I like to check what sort of aids the car has in real life and then turning on those. If it doesn't have an ABS, I turn it off, if it doesn't have TCS, I turn that off. With old Le Mans race cars I turn everything off and have lots of fun :)

How much time do you guys spend on these events? Esspecially you ones who are way up top.

on Gt5 I usually did 4-6 hours the first 2 days to get a good feeling with the car and the track. The rest of the time was 1-2hours per day, and then I usually burned out the last week.

My best place so far has been with less driving the first couple of days, and more days with driving 1-2hours a day. That's how I avoided to burn out in the last week. Worked good for me.

So I would say 15-20 hours for a 14 days period to get in the top 3-10, and usually 10-15hours for top11-20

But I think it is very different, some guys are more talented because of real driving experience. So they might spend less time.

No don't blame your hardware.... I had this issue with a S2000 for a while. It started after I started switching between ABS = 0 and ABS - 1.

It went away as quickly as it arrived.

Slightest touch on brake on pedal went straight to 50%.

Yet another bug - like the engine sounds disappearing when the the overly-done tyre screeching kicks in.

2:14.5 in the M4, added a welcome $100,000 plus a nice car to boot.

I see the record is currently 2:08.

Update, 2:12.8........... now 2:11.527. Only 9 sec's in front of Cargo.;)

How the heck does someone do a 2.08 ???

I'm guessing they have upgraded it and have ALL aids on ?

there should be at least separate grid for people with and without assists (kind of filter). its not my problem if someone want to use it but I want to know how fast i'm in a group of pepople which apply to the same rules.

using assists it's not a cheat when its offered to players but then one general tables with results make no sense to me.

Alright guys, thanks for all your tips on how to take care of my sticky brake problem. I seem to have it fixed, for the time being anyway, by using a less intrusive method I found on Google. All I did for now was push the pedal down all the way and release it suddenly letting it spring back under its own force. Seems to work for now. Anyway, later on when I can pull myself away from the game, I'll take the advice of taking it apart and cleaning the pot with contact cleaner. Thanks again for all your help here guys, its really appreciated.

Also, I use a squash ball under the brake pedal to increase resistence, and can only imagine that this pushes the pedal back to "zero" much quicker, and firmly !
