Turnaround race?

Cheers lb, I'll wait until next week then, just do some general hammering around with the motor to get the hang of it, it I a belting car.

Zo.
It's a fun car to chuck around - gotta say I'd prefer a big shouty V8 Mercedes though! C 63 AMG is hilarious to drive.

Hello chaps, thanks for the racing last night, I really enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to putting in the time to try and climb up the rankings a little next Tuesday, if possible.
With that in mind, do you know where the races are next Tuesday please? (And, just as importantly, where the hell is the pit entrance?!)
Cheers, Zo. (BTW, full damage, brilliant! I really wish losing it wasn't an option, I'm sure the standard of racing would improve across all GT6 if it was compulsory.)

Thanks for your compliments, Zo. 👍

I've decided that both Saturday (15th) and Tuesday (18th) will see the same tracks/schedule, so you can practice now until your fingers blister :).

Last time we visited Le Mans it went like this, #64. With @MannYhAvitZ taking the win and fastest lap.

Do tell me guys if the races are too short? Too long?

I curse PD every waking hour that the Z8 can not be fitted with snow tyres. There are so many tracks the Z8 can't be driven at it's ridiculous.
Similar cars can be fitted with snow tyres so I can't for the life of me understand why the Z8 has been neglected.
Oh well, mysteries of life..

"remember lb, no pitstop" - cheeky sod.:D

I was thinking those two pics of the Z8s racing were cool then I realised I took 'em!

Photos from yesterday and nurburg on Saturday coming soon.

All available lobby/room settings has been chosen with realism in mind. Or as close as possible at the least. The one-lap qualifying is something that I very much enjoy,
Formula 1 used it for a couple of years during the early 2000s and it was very interesting to watch the drivers when they only had that one chance of setting a qualifying lap.
They just couldn't afford any mistakes. I wonder why PD hasn't programmed the qualifying sessions to be "replay-able" (is that a word :)).

Yes, they're your pictures alright. #534 👍

lb, if you ever want a partner to hoon around in a full house C63 (circa 900BHP) on C/H tyres, I'm your man, I love that motor. Unfortunately I don't get to race it much because it's not competitive at any PP or BHP against M3s etc. You'll have to pit each lap mind, I understand you're up for that.

Cheers, Zo.

And an idea was brought up about having an oval race at Motegi some time in the future. Would there be an interest in that?

Manny seemed to know what he was doing at Motegi. Not a scratch.

Jocke, I hate oval racing..... but with this bunch, in the Z8 I'll give it a go. Eight laps, it should be over pretty quickly ;)

Did I spot an entry earlier on where you were inviting suggestions? I can't see it now, and I'm getting on a bit, so it might be a faulty memory thing.....

Cheers, Zo.

Oval race, why not ? 👍
Oval race, NO 👎

I've been missing the Z8 championship so much that I just had to take the trusty orange #37 out for a spin in the new intermediate race at Daytona. I had a lovely time but it wasn't the same without you guys.
Maybe we could do a Mallet Cup just like the S.A.C. 👍

What do you have in mind, Zo?

Oooh, really? :dopey: Would I decide the regs?
As there is already a Mallet Cup, it would probably need a different name? The Mallet Trophy?
I can't believe you've suggested this, it would be a massive honour if you did have a Mallet Trophy.

As long as the core settings below (from post #1) stay the same I'm open for any and all suggestions.
The Z8-regulars opinions matter as well. Like GOOFY, bergele, qken, Wheeler, If, Max, gamer, ElCon,
Dusty, buybon, Rob and Smiley.

It's just that I thought I saw somewhere that you'd asked for feedback as to the length of the races. I'm sorry if I'm wrong, I can't find it now.

Anyway, I've been in a couple of races where the length of it, and depletion rate, were set up so that the total race time was about the same whether a driver pitted or not. Those who didn't pit continued round trying to get the best they could out of clapped out tyres, whilst those who pitted drove the rims off their motors trying to make up for the time lost. And race really wasn't over until some overweight lady belted out a few notes. That's it really.

Cheers, Zo.

I'd like to add that I'd be perfectly happy to do some testing myself to find suitable combinations of circuit/laps/depreciation.

Cheers, Zo. (Judging by the tags on the entry above, you'd be happy for me to go ahead and do that.)

I'm sorry I've not been able to make it this week. I've been out buying my new runaround. I parked it up in the street and it seemed to get quite a bit of attention!

It's the bicycle I'm on about. You didn't think I meant the Z8 did you? :sly:
That Z8 looks real nice and I thought it was a Mini in the background at first, until I realized it is a 500.

The 'Super Special Mallet Trophy Cup' seems to be getting a green light and that will be held at Silverstone as per Mallet's wishes in 1-2 weeks time.
Mallet hasn't decided on the laps yet but the race will probably go for at least half an hour :)
Your tyre deterioration idea sounds fun and could be incorporated into this event. 👍

Hi everyone,
please accept my apologies for not attending Mini club and Cappuccino club earlier this week.
I'm trying to change my very late race nights into early morning racing, and I couldn't manage to wake up in time for the recent race events.
I will try hard to be with the z8cc tonight, but I will have to leave before 23:00 GMT.
About the upcoming Suzuka races, what will the surface water level be at the beginning of the races?
And about the oval, I raced at Motegi & Daytona last Tuesday with the guys, I have to admit it was surprisingly dynamic. I had never raced against humans on ovals and it was not the boring type of race the AI puts up in career or seasonal mode.

See you later today or tomorrow depending on you time zone.

The "Extra Special Mallet Super Cup Tournament Trophy" sounds interesting!

Are you planning for it to be held on a Saturday or a Tuesday?
That will have to be decided. We will have to make sure it works for all those interested in the event.

I know what you mean, gamer. I raced with the S.A.C. boys two days ago and the races were between 2-5 in the am. I felt like a zombie afterwards :)
Gamer, I'm confident that it's going to be 100% throughout the race, yippeeeee! Full rain tyres will be available too.

Cheers, Zo.
The weather and surface will be just like the racing itself.. one hundred percent. :)

Results from races 39-41 will be up within the hour so everything is accounted for before today's races 42-44.

And some big news.
My/our friend @MannYhAvitZ has agreed to upload the "Mallet Trophy" race replay after it is finished.
I'm sure those participating in the event will be as grateful as I already am 👍

See you in a few hours time and here are the settings again, #572

I've been struggling to keep up with everything that's been going on around here while I've been busy. It sounds like the megastompingsupercrazytimescup or whatever it's called is beginning its build up nicely. I think I'm all caught up now & have sent Jocke some useful information to aid preparations for the big day. 👍
