Borderlands 2

Thinking back the first one wasn't easy either soloing early on. Balanced is a good way of looking at it but the low lvl items and shields and running out of ammo too fast was killing me. I started online but it was so random I left. BL 2 almost forces side missions to grind and loot, sticking to the main quest makes it tougher I noticed.

It's designed for four people. Play through the main missions only, it'll be extremely tough unless you are playing with others. The sidequests are there pretty much for the solo-ers to have a chance lol.

Also if you are a completionist you will do everything. Since I think there is a achievement for All Side missions done.

We haven't touched the DLC packs yet. What are your guys thoughts on playing them during play through 1 or after completing the main quests.

Thanks in advance.
You've received some good responses in regards to the side quests in the main game. Here is what I did.
1. I completed every single side mission while still in the first play through, for trophy purposes, obviously.
2. The same side missions become available once you finish Part 1 and go into TVHM, but I skipped all of them during the second play through and only did the main story missions.
3. Once I finished the second play through, I was in what most players refer to as Part 2.5. At this point, all of the side missions, and their rewards should be at Level 50. I did not complete all of the side missions again, but only those that I knew had worthwhile reward items.

As far as the DLC missions go, I have completed the main story missions in both DLCs in both in normal mode and TVHM with one of my Level 50 characters. As well as I remember, the enemies and rewards were only at about Level 30 in normal mode, and at Level 50 in TVHM.

Which is what I've done so I'll have stuff to do when the level cap goes up.

I got bored and completed all missions in all playthroughs. I have half of two domes left. The creature dome 3-5, and the hyperion armory 5.

Without giving people any idea where to go to get the tools it is now possible to mods saves on the PS3. Tried last night to see if it worked and it did. I won't be using modded stuff in multiplayer it just ruins the fun.

Give the Unkempt Harold 5-4 Torgue Shotgun Barrels.

Four Torgue Shotgun Barrels = 72 projectiles
Five Torgue Shotgun Barrels = 90 projectiles

The Unkempt technically fires 7 projectiles with one, so...

72 * 3 = 216 ammo used per shot
90 * 3 = 270 ammo used per shot

72 * 7 = 504 projectiles per shot
90 * 7 = 810 projectiles per shot

Lets take one that does 17525 damage.

504 * 17525 = 8,832,600 damage per shot*
810 * 17525 = 14,195,250 damage per shot*

*(if they all hit the same target lol)

I think it might work like that...anyway.

Tl;dr: The Torgue Shotgun Barrel can make pretty much everything more awesome in terms of modding. Or it can make them crash your PS3 upon firing them.

Super Novi I have seen some really crazy things that can be done here are some examples. I will give what you said a go. Its crazy that you can put barrels in gun parts they are no supposed to be an multiply the effects of the barrel.
A class mod with 22 grit skill points(so you can never die)

Don't like the bee nerf? try this one

Do you think the rapid infinity isn't rapid enough? check out this one then

WHOA WHOA WHOA.

Thats a modded class mod. I need to know how to modify that.

Right now I am trying out some weapons I just modded.

Lascaux Hellfire. The Stampede from HELL.

Edit: Didn't work as intended, but instead I got a Maliwan SMG that fires Torgue rounds. AKA I made the Torgue Gasher. Win. Although it would be better it had the texture of the Unkempt Harold. Thing is, it has NO textures. lol.

And then I made an SMG shotgun out of a Purple Maliwan SMG.

Skullmasher Longbow is awesome. So is the Skullmasher Volcano.

I am getting some seriously evil ideas from this.

That is a reason why I will never play online with anyone, Modded stuff just takes out all the fun of trying different builds to see where you can improve and different weapons.

yeah I haven't started to play with modded weapons much yet just trying the stuff others have made. I would never play with modded gear online at the moment i just try it out to see all the cool stuff people have made.

I don't play online with modded stuff, I just go with an unmodded Evil Smasher and Infinite Ammo (through glitches). If anything, I just want to see how crazy I can make things, or if I can possibly make guns similar to Unique/Legendary guns from the first game, or if I can fuse a gun etc.

If anything this is like an experiment on crack.

I don't play online with modded stuff, just with the Evil Smasher and Infinite Ammo.
So you don't play online with your modded gear, but you play online with your modded Smasher and infinite ammo?

Never INTENTIONALLY said the Evil Smasher was modded. And you can legitimately get infinite ammo without modding.

Typos can be a pain sometimes. But even if the Evil Smasher was modded, the Barrel specifically for that gun would absolutely be nerfed regardless of any additional weapon damage.

Edit: Tried my hand with the Unstoppable Pointman. That could be useful for farming Vermivorous. I also tried screwin' around with a few relics.

To me when people start modding either they find the game to be too hard/impossible or they say they got it from someone else from online.

why not play the game it was meant to be played. Reason why Legendary weapons are so hard so you have something to go after.

Well thats no the case with me completed the game and got plenty of legit legendarys by grinding. I did both DLC packs and did most of the bosses (not done the one thats needs acid to kill). so with me it is just purely for the fun of seeing what crazy stuff can be made.

I've been playing more lately for the first time in ages. Long story short, my co-op buddy who spends most of his time on Killing Floor decided he wanted to play so I jumped at the chance, we got from level 20 to 24 in fairly short order. He wasn't online tonight so I decided to start a new bank character and managed to make it to Sanctuary in 1h45. It would've been faster had I not joined an idiot and stupidly decided to stick around just to kill Midgemong. I then got kicked because I told him I couldn't get him any more heads (I dropped the Special Edition Salvador head for him as I didn't need it), so that was a total waste of time.

Any ideas for how you might be able to get from the start of the game to Sanctuary as quickly as possible? Legitimate, non-cheating ideas that is. Personally I consider power levelling going just a little bit too far, but if it means doing it in 15 minutes I'd probably do it if I'm honest.

Only way I could see it happening is if you mainstream all the story missions, Even though you will be underleveled as long as you have semi-good weapons it is doable.

I really wish modders could keep their guns in their inventory with them being deleted. Maybe they should make it so modders can't trade or drop any modded guns/items etc. Or maybe you can only trade modded weapons for modded weapons and vice versa...

They should also make an option to allow modders in your lobby or not.

That way legit players could play legit and modders won't have to worry about their stuff being deleted.

Modders will be modders,
Legit players will complain about anything.

New DLC in one week from Tomorrow.

Also lead Writer for BL2 is talking about how they plan to do things differently "hinting BL3"

Well this just been released figured I will post it.

1.3.1 Patch Notes
- Added support for text input using the gamepad for Steam's Big Picture mode.
- Fixed a bug causing players to sometimes get stuck in the "Whoops" mission of the Captain Scarlett DLC.
- Deathtrap can no longer restore an enemy's shields, even though it was hilarious.
- Fixed a bug that caused off-hand weapons to sometimes deal improper damage while Gunzerking.
- Addressed an issue where shotguns did not receive full damage boosts from skills and gear.

Sweet, sounds like my CC is denerfed a tiny bit. The death trap glitch was hilarious though.

I knew there was a reason to why all my shotguns had terrible damage...even with the Evil Smasher.

Did a quick count of my gear tonight, not including class mods (as they're unique) I've got about 230 items across my characters, of those only maybe 10-15 are orange! I also have no level 32 gear. Hard times or what? I'm going to work out when best to spend 15 of the 25 keys I have to fill out my stockpile then transfer all <50 gear to bank characters. I also noticed my Salvador has an inventory full of green crap...

There's a code for 5 keys out now, I'd post it but I'm lazy (and on my phone as usual). There's a link on the Gearbox twitter. I'm up to 25 but my co-op buddy has saved all of his ever since he squandered the one he got with the game at level 8, I think he said he's got over 40 now or something.

Reading into further of the patch a hand full or a lot (depending on how you look at it) and here is what I have found.
Borderlands 2′s weapon set has been acting strangely for some players over on the Gearbox forums. Randy Pitchford has stepped in to assure fans that the team is aware of several glitches and is now looking at fixing them at present.

First it was the bee was Broken now weapons are broken... Pattern anyone?

Edit: for KEYS!

PC / Mac Borderlands 2 SHiFT Code: K3K33-3W9JT-6XJJT-TB3JB-HWZZF
Xbox 360 Borderlands 2 SHiFT Code: WBWJ3-JHKSK-ZHXT6-CRTJT-BW59W
PlayStation 3 Borderlands 2 SHiFT Code: WBK3B-FKWCT-KWKWB-SJWTB-XCZK3

The only guns broken for me are my shotguns, or anything that has a pellet count at or over 6.
And also the fact that Sledge's Shotgun has no more knockback...

Any word on what these glitches are specifically?

I'm surprised they haven't fixed the Evil Smasher glitch yet. And Zer0's Slayer of Terramorphous mod, does that still have one of Salvador's skills attached?
