Lol Yh, after the race I said something like "its not what you think, someone came in front of the tv" but you didn't reply & I found out why when I watched the replay, it was lucky that I made it around a corner blind lol
Yep just a coincidence it happened at a moment when you couldn't see the screen. Didn't see you typed that after otherwise I woulda said. Chat box moves fast at the end of the race with everyone pecking messages out.

Overall, I was happy with how my races went. I had an off on turn 1 (my own fault) and a problem with Andy and the lag but otherwise it was great racing. :) I haven't been able to watch the replays yet, but I know that there were a couple of really nice battles that I would love to see again.

Hard to pick which was my favourite race of the night. Race 1 was hugely satisfying but easy. Race 2 was a good close fought battle which was immense fun for me. :D

Well done to Brendon on his first win, those hours/days of practice really paid off. It's an awesome feeling to win a race.

Congratulations has to go to Rob on getting a win with the Crossfire too, it looked like he had it well under control.

Don't think im leaving you behind though your coming with me! XD

Lol, dw I'm gonna do much better in the next few races, grand valley reverse was just a very difficult track to understand, the driving lines were bizarre and I didn't have a clue if I was doing a fast lap or a slow 1 judging by the lines or targets

Thanks mate. And yeah congrats Rob and Sken. Sorry i couldn't put the fight up race one but hey well drove ya'll. Race 3 was fav for me, but race 2 looked like a spectacular battle guys

Way i could tell, 27s end of exit kurb t3, 37s end of tunnel, 1:02 coming out of 3rd tunnel, 55 going in, 1:44 going under banner before last corner, 2:02.9 over the line :P

Bren - Have you watched the replay of race 2? It was an epic race from where I was sitting.

Stig - Don't worry mate, I don't like all tracks either. I'm fairly decent at the majority of tracks but unlike some, I can't pick up the controller and be instantly fast. It takes me a while to learn the track and become comfrtable with it.

I watched it live looked epic, but don't have replay saved, and i can pick up pad and be okay at a course, give me 2 days free time, ill have a setup and will know the course better then i know my way around the pokedex. XD

I've been rained off work this morning so I'm able to watch the replays of yesterdays action. :D This should be interesting.

Nice!

Damn! I missed my chance of saving race 2 replay,

So if anyone wants any specific action from race 1 and/or 3 to be in the highlights for youtube, plz quote or message me the race, lap and sector number and il include it :-)

Sorry if I got in anyone's way leaving the pits but I'm not sure about this give way rule. Obviously I'm not going to swerve in front of anyone but I have to get on with my race too.

Regarding the pit exit, just keep in the lane and don't cross the white line - and then just merge into the traffic!

That's basically what I did. It just felt really dodgy.

You doing a vid stig! Genius.

The speed differential between those on track and those emerging from the pit lane was pretty large, but it should still be possible to exit into the traffic without causing too much bother, just keep a tight line through turn 1.

HSR is going to be an interesting race with there being so much slipstream and extra laps. I'm expecting a lot of position swapping up front and stratergy by team mates. It will either be awesome or difficult. I did a few laps last night just out of curiosity and it's certainly fast paced.

I will do a few laps today, see my pace

Yh just 5mins highlights of each round round so far, only problem is that I haven't got all the replays, so I will have to do with what I've got,

It would be handy if people would give me some the lap, and sector of any action they want to see included in the highlights

To see what they will be like, click on the link below and watch 'gt5 fired up'

Btw I can't wait to see our results from grand valley reverse, as always

I've done some fr and ff testing, it seems at HSR they are, sector 1: break even, sector2: ff territory, sector 3: fr territory.

I think hsr is all ff .

The fr can only compete if they have draft and once they lose it thats it .

The fr are about 2 tenths faster last sect but from my setups 2 tenths a lap slower. I am managing 1:12.1 dodge, 1:12.3 crysler, 1:12.6 bmw, 1:12.2 ford. All offline atm

Thats how I was around the twisty grand valley with my ff, and I did fine despite being very off phase, so FRs slipstreaming on a very straight track should do fine

Yh mate, specially as i just did a test, a slow car 'can' gain upto 3s a lap behind the right car here

Right, FR proposal...

We all know the FR balancing hasn't worked out as well as hoped... and the stewards have been discussing what to do about it. I've presented an idea and the stewards seem largely happy with it, so I'll put it out there for all.

Simply, it would involve introducing the BMW M3 CSL '03 on Sports Medium tyres with immediate effect (exact weight TBC, but somewhere around 1270-1300 I reckon would be good). It has good grip, and critically, matches the FFs on straight line. Any FR drivers would be permitted to change to it if they wish. FF drivers would not be allowed to switch cars.

Of course this would mean the season would be paused for a week or two while drivers acclimatise to the car, and to ensure the M3 is probably and fairly balanced to the field. I don't want this to result in a swing the other way. Parity is the goal.

If people want this to go ahead but feel the change is too drastic, then maybe the season can be split in half and we start again from 0 for Round 5 (if this plan goes ahead, I would switch Madrid and High Speed Ring around in the calendar). There would then be titles open for Season 6.1, 6.2 and the whole of 6 overall.

Secondary to this plan would be shaving another 20kg off the Crossfire and G35/Skyline, making them 1350kg a piece, but still on Sports Soft tyres.

Thoughts?

From my point of view shave upto 50kg off them see how that goes, then if we do season 7 introduce the csl there. The fr still have speed to give but they are difficult to tune in my eyes whereas ff are just as fast but easier to tune.

Does the M3 match the FF's on outright lap pace????

The only thing I would worry about is then tyre ware. On sport mediums the M3 should be able to quite comfortably do a full stint without any ware or drop off in lap times.

I know at the moment there is very little tyre ware with the FR's but would this make it too unfair on FF drivers. Maybe i'm overthinking it.....

Your not mate, that's one of my worries also.

No I have thought of that too Weezy. Weight isn't confirmed and it would need to be group tested in race conditions before I put in the series proper.

At the very least, it could be tested even if it doesn't come in immediately.

A good idea, invite another person to run it for rest of season (none competitive )to see how it runs

Maybe Mikey if he wanted to. Non-championship and couldn't score points though.

Yeah that would probably be one of the best plans because, it shows us if it has the raw speed and endurance without changing championship too badly, and as for g35, crossfire, 330i i do think anywhere up to 50kg knocked off will be a good idea
