Don't think its gonna be a very good race for me. Haven't had time to get many laps in.

Gonna try and get some practice in before the race tomorrow but doubt i'll be able to shave off the few seconds I need to be competitive.

What's better around grand valley's tight corners:
Lifting off completely until the car is ready for exit & then flooring it

Or using some throttle at all times throughout the corner when not using the brakes

???

About half throttle id say , a bit of a tap tap tap with the pedal for me . Sector 2 your talking , its really getting the entry lines right and not using too much kerb or not using it at all .

Huh wierd, even on reverse I find a few kerbs help me a bit atleast in FF's but I set them up wierdly :sly:.

Will see what I can get in the heavier Mazdar tomorrow.

Good luck today everyone, hope for some great races, and yea stig those damnable kurbs will eat your laptime up.

It should be a good race and it'll be great to see the FR's further up the field. In theory, we should see our first FR win here.

Personally I'm not expecting much from GVS today.

That fast turn 1 is going to claim some victims, I've seen people trying to overtake through there and I don't think that there is really enough room to thread two cars through that corner safely at race speed. The car on the outside of that corner is potentially going to have their race ruined, so its best to be cautious. There are a few overtaking places, but its not going to be easy like Monza or Suzuka.

Well me nd canyon can do t1 flat out next to each other but its close as can be

Exactly....it's very tight through there. Why not just wait and make the move through 2 + 3 where its safer for both drivers if a mistake is made. Perhaps I just fear turn 1, I got hung out on the outside once and had to take to the gravel. :(

close yes but not flat out...I had to lift off to make sure that I didn't end up in the kitty litter...but we stayed side by side the whole way thru...which was cool but I don't think it would be advisable to try it during the race

even tho there are a lot of corners around GVS to be honest there are only a couple that you can safely dive up the inside on during an outbraking move without risking pushing the opponent off his line or worse off the track...there are 10 laps so be patient and press hard to force a mistake...this should be a close set of races...hopefully some good ole clean battles and some tit for tat racing

Aye to that both of you, ive been practicing overtaking, there are some lovable overtaking spots for me, its a suberb track

MrBrendon... to be fair we have had some cracking battles during our practices...but there have been some overtaking attempts that altho it was a practice and therefor open to knocks seemed a bit OTT...practice in my eyes is there to find out where you can safely overtake and where you cant...obviously if I made a mistake on the previous corner and you have the drag on me down to the next corner then I will give in and back off to allow you thru safely but that's assuming I make a mistake...cause I wont be backing off if im flat out

My point exactly. You can't get two cars through that corner flat out. I have to ease off because if I'm on the outside the gravel will get me. I usually tuck back in at the end of the straight, rather than risk a move through there. Turn 2 + 3 are brilliant for overtaking on and getting that tit-for-tat cut that we all love while racing.

I don't think GVS is a great overtaking track. I liked Suzuka much more, there are more opportunities on Suzuka to make a clean move. GVS is in my opinion a tighter track.

Thts what i ment practicing to make me safe, i just been with stig practicing and making sure i didn't do any stupid manoeuvres, by good spots i mean putting myself offline to get a good line into next corner, to get fastest launch onto next corner/str8

that's cool...I wish you the best of luck you are certainly fast at GVS faster than I am that's for sure...

We won't be near the front on race 1, unless others are much slower than we imagine. Starting from the back is not easy.

Race 2 will be better for us.

Thanks mate, but i seriously look forward to race 2 and 3, and hope you guys can come fight race 1!

yeah that would be cool to be close to the front of the pack at the end of the race ...concidering that we will be starting from the back of the pack...100% attack from race 1...im gonna loose 10 lbs in weight from the sheer concentration involved lol

it might sound horrible but we can hope that there is some real fighting going on that allows us to catch up...we all know that while you are fending off an attack that your not focused on the road ahead...mistakes are made...and people catch up...so let there be a fight fight fight....lol

right guys im off ...good luck to everyone and I look forward to mixing it up with all of you guys tonight...Perfect Apex Racing is coming for you

my only allies are ian.. and even he is my rival...lolhe may be my team mate and my friend but on the track he is in my rear view mirror...hehehe
 You hope that I'm in your rearview mirror, because you're lagging a few points behind me 'mate'. ;)

Let's be honest.....We're good mates, we have a laugh and enjoy GT5 immensly. We will work together as a team making sure that we maximise any possible advantage, tuning the cars together and helping each other out on track. But, given the opportunity, we love to kick each others butts and beting each other is important, we are willing to scrap it out and we do so regularly. We are rivals. :D

Furi will likely be coming along in an RPM-BMW this evening 👍

Will probs open the lounge around 5-5.30. :)
