Just add me on PSN : Dimse91

Ascari Test room open #1472-6399-8580-0415-9810

A few of the guys racing/testing other series tonight, so I'll nail down tomorrow night (Tuesday) from 7pm?

My lounge, Ascari running. Please let me know if you're gonna attend - decent numbers else I'll do something else :sly:

Pre, haven't run any of the cars post that. Wonder if it's made a difference to lap time. If so, my testing work was pointless! May have to be a test season, this one...
Hence why BST was cancelled:indiff: you may be more lucky with your cars mate i dont know. GT6 asks us to put in a heap of graft without much reward imo.:irked:

Any chance of a visual representation of the acceptable track limits through those chicanes Rolo, I appreciate that you described it, but a picture really helps. They're tight at the best of times.

My internet should be sorted on the 4th, so just in time for the season, that's assuming that everything goes to plan. Fingers crossed.

So far the only cars I've tested that weren't in the mid 17's are the Peugeot and Volvo.
What times was the Volvo setting for you?

My personal best in the Volvo is 2:17.089 and that was with a fairly decent tune and giving it everything I've got and some. I couldn't do that time consistently.

Rolo, I have no idea how you've done a 2:14 in the Volvo. Lol. Another test is needed, the update has probably changed things again. :(

My biggest complex will be(and always has been) gear ratios. Even if I get a good setup, it'll likely be the gear ratios that will let me down.

I'll give you a hand with the gears mate, I just need to figure it out for myself first. Lol. I was really good at doing gearboxes on GT5, a good set of gear ratio's helps enormously.

I'm trying to master the suspension side of things first, the difference between the GT5 and GT6 suspension physics is huge.

I second this:confused: admittedly i dont know the track very well or like it all that much in all honesty but with my limited practice ive only managed upper 17's but mostly im in the 18's/19's currently. That said im really struggling to get the hang of the track or remember it more to the point:dopey: but even then no way i'd get near a 14. 1.04 has struck i feel happy testing.:boggled:

OK then, here's some images of what is acceptable and allowed:

This is the first chicane after the start/finish straight. Obviously mirror this image if your line takes the left hand kerb instead of the right.

This is the chicane further round the lap. I'd say the normal line through here involves two wheels on the kerb through the left kerbing, then what you see here through the right kerbing. The left bend afterwards is treated as normal.

Hope that helps 👍

Lounge opening in a mo.

It would be really helpful if you could keep track of your best times in each car. :)

Couple of notes -

1) may make tyre wear faster if necessary.
2) ALL aero parts are banned. Hyundai must run with the 'No Wings' option and not 'Standard Aero'
3) free tuning, for those who weren't aware, is now allowed in testing

I've updated the OP with more detailed information regarding car tuning. Please ask if you have any questions or if you see anything I've missed.

Consider this your prompt to familiarise yourself with the rules. The stewards will be randomly checking the legality of cars during the first round and beyond.

Gotta go guys, best times Focus- 16.6 Nissan-16.8 BMW-16.9

Decently close times 👍

Couple of questions I need some feedback on guys..

  1. Should the qualifying sessions be run as proper Qualifiers (as in Meganes), or as practice sessions with Automatic Start Time? This would advantage people who DC or arrive late (although not recommended to do this!!), since running proper Qualifiers means you can't re-enter the track if you leave, which is dumb :banghead:
  2. I'm considering applying the Pole/FL/Lap Leader points to Pre-Qualifying as well, and having them count for the overall championship. I'm aware this might cause something of a 'pinch' or 'pressure point' around 10th place in the standings, but it may boost competitiveness? What do you guys think?

Also, I recommend you guys enable notifications for getting tagged in posts here. I'll be using that feature a lot this season I think.

Jeez I'd sure like to know how you're doing that Rolo. I sold my Volvo after my first test session, I can't drive it. Really can't drive any of the FFs

Volvo I believe is just all about braking earlier and turning in smoothly. The Ford is much more chuckable.
