Right, an update on the current situation...

1 Renault is now free.
Harsk is now an independent, his team having been disbanded when Hancock quit.
Two BMW drivers waiting in the wings to sign up.

-----

8pm start again likely next week, hopefully with no game update to contend with first. Details to come at the weekend. Sorry for the added delay tonight, but aside from one or two issues, it all ran quite smoothly I think. Pit bug is definitely gone.

Still concerned with the state of some people's connections though. I think I'm gonna have to toughen up a bit regarding waiting and such. If there are regular culprits for DCs and other connection issues then I might have to clamp down if it seriously harms smooth running. It will lose people races but what else can I do? Every week there's been issues of late.

-----

@canyondrifter how was the Citroen at 1290?

May raise the Pug by 20kg, or remove 5hp, opinions?

Also, having finally caught up with the 1.07 changes (hopefully the balance of performance in the field is unaffected), I'm quite tempted to run the new Grid Start with False Start Check feature. Gives an F1-style 5 light sequence with varied interval. Sound good?

Gonna keep the Final Corner Start for Pre-Q and Race 1 Q I think... allows for more laps.

Don't get this connection thing, psn your so cheap.
Is there any good links for people to ask for help on?

Maybe it's just sorting some setting out to make it better?

What are the numbers on your connection? Im hardwired to a 50 mb connection. Its one of the best connections you can get around my area without going for 100mb business internet.

To be honest though, it's the same connection as it's always been, and you've raced just fine with us in the past, so I don't understand what's going on now that's different. You seem to have a very hit and miss time with us these days.

Well since i got gt6 i was on the schools internet. This is the first week at home on gt6. It said something that i have never seen before. Something about incompatibility with room host. I found my connection is better at home but i dont know what the problem is with connecting to you.

Im for the false grid start

Lets test it next week

Video for those of you who don't know.

It could be something simple like resetting the router or restarting the PS3.

Yeah F1 false start grid sounds cool and brings another challenge into the very beginning of the race! :) 👍
Tonight was really fun, two great races even though the first wasn't the best because everybody was probably being pushed off the track at some point of the race which is not so nice... :indiff:

But driving that Focus I feel that Scania and me will be very competitive! :mischievous:

Well the states to the uk going to make a high ping, plus all uk playing peak times.
I know my virgin router came with a built in firewall that got turned off by the son in law.

I would search the net on your ISP see if there any tune up tips.
Alot of ISP now mean you can only use there routers, but there maybe tune up bits in there you can do.

A ping of 60 nothing to worry about really over 100 hmm that not great.
The other thing and something not a lot of people look at is jitter.
This it packets losted, that's packets of date gone.
So you can guess what that makes happen.

Test your ping here:

Hmm Virgin up and down as normal if I test about 01:00 it be downloading well over 100mb.
Will still have jitter, Ok best test my bt what I use on the ps3:

This is a common misconception. Download/upload speed for online gaming isn't the most important thing. Your Ping and Jitter are really important and oftens overlooked. Ping is the amount of time it takes to send a packet of data to the receiving server and receive it back again. The Jitter is the variation of the Ping.

So a low Ping is important (lower than 100ms) and the Jitter needs to be very low too which is the sign of a good stable internet connection.

Ping between the USA and UK has never been great.

Try www.pingtest.net to see what results you're getting at home. Just bear in mind that the server you connect to will also probably be in the US.

Rolo - The Citroen was doing well, I had a good battle with Canyon. 👍

Not too worried about the false start thing.

I hate Willow, it's a horrible track.

Love the commitment being made for testing....keep up the great work guys, it really does help.

Was pit lag still happening, I'm guessing that it hasn't been fixed yet?

I was gutted at willow really, was going great.
Just a little moment on the last bend, where I hit the inside kerb.
Tried to keep the car a little staight as did not want to spin out.
But then just clip the sand on the left this made the car spin :/
And off to the right I went then I saw the fence coming and I could not get left of it.
So had to right dam I could not get back on the track, saw an opening in the fence.
But nope could not drive past it, So I drive all the way across the track.
Then bang car placed on the starting line, the car grip was a night mare then.
Went off again a few times and ended up a lap down :(

I can see it being a hard track for FF cars but they seemed to be doing ok.
It's a nice track but it can just be so evil.

You can move the map around

Now just a local speed test

So looks like my virgin working fast but even so a ping of 142 to Denver

Sorry for missing the test race again guys; will try my best to make the remaining test sessions.

@rolo Can I switch to the remaining Renault?

I forgot about this. Making the switch now. 👍

Scratch the two BMWs. No GTP account? No desire to make one? No drive.

At 1290 it felt pretty good ... I cam in 6th both races on a basic tune so with some real time spent on it it's a competitive car mate

I have been researching the internet to why i have been having issues with my connection. It turns out i have a defective router. For 150$ you would expect it to work. Anyways, i hope to get a new router this weekend. One of the ethernet ports has been burning up causing multiple issues. Also it turns out that this router needs a workaround in order to work properly with the isp modem. I have advice for all of you. NEVER BUY A LINKSYS/CISCO ROUTER!!

I had a LINKSYS rounter one of there top ones few years back.
What it did and it's wireless range all great, just had one some problem it not work lol.

I bought it for when I had my BT but changed to sky, sky told me I could not change the rounter.
In till I read some forums and found out I could as the sky rounter was an old netgear one.

Set it all up nothing so got my other newer netgear one out the loft and that worked fine.
Sky router went in loft Linksys rounter went in the bin

That's good news Hurley. Bad that you need a new router, but good that you may have found a problem. 👍 When I had my issues I tried various routers and modems but the root cause of my problem was my service providor. :(

I hope that the new router solves it for you.
