Sorry, buy there are definitely no tricks or secrets with tuning prohibited. I am 100% confident that brake balance is the only thing you can adjust. And obviously the power limiter. With bigger grids the handicaps should be more effective. It probably wouldn't be possible to make it all the way to the front in a 10/12+ car race. But yes, reverse grids for R3 are a must.
What ive noticed is because the brakes are so good on this car , if you brake a bit too much you lose too much speed .
Also another tip is to not over shift the car , if you can keep it in the same gear do that rather than downshift just to upshift a second or two after .
The car is real easy to drive and handles great for a ff , its real easy to over drive it and make mistakes .
I found it much easier to follow someone rather than lead , i just dont have the practice yet to really get the most out of the car .
Should be a interesting season .
Had a quick practice on laguna later on last night, and now the cars fully run in,its running pretty safe 34.5's with a bit of room for pushing..the thing with laguna is a very small mistake on almost any corner will cost loads of time..its just the nature of that track.
Thanks for the little snippets of advice guys, it's very much appreciated.
I've watched the replay from yesterday and I can see that my tyre wear and indeed fuel depletion is much more than others, so I'm more than likely pushing too hard which is making me slower. I smoked my tyres more than anyone else (unless the replay was being glitchy) and the tyre wear indicator showed that I was punishing my tyres.
So, in short, I need to alter my driving style which is not going to be easy. I'm not quite sure what I need to change yet, whether it's my braking into the corners, steering angle, partial throttle mid-turn, trying to carry too much speed...or just all of them.It isn't something which is easy to identify from watching a replay without seeing a side-by-side comparison with someone else.
At Laguna, I'm expecting to fall back because I'll be concentrating more on looking after my tyres than racing for position. I need to learn how to become smoother and during the process I'll probably be slower than usual, but it should benefit me in the long run.
I know that one of my weaknesses is track knowledge. Although I've done a huge amount of driving on GT5 and I know the tracks, I'm never able to go fast within a few laps and it takes me time to find the speed. Time and time again I'll pound around a track for 20 minutes and set what I think is a good time and then someone enters the lobby and goes faster than me within a few laps. I usually get there eventually and get myself on pace but it doesn't come naturally. My natural ability isn't as good as I would like it to be and perhaps my memory let's me down too. I have an appaling memory.
Anyway. I'll be trying to improve my game this season, I won't be pushing as hard and hopefully I'll learn something new. 👍
Anybody able to get on at the moment, and canyon I can't help you there sorry bud, when my blue ray broke, I replaced it with my YLOD PS3 one...
I think that there is a tiny reset point on the back of the controller. Try that.
got around low 35, still looking bad
Thanks mate I will try it later, off GT5 till Thursday now so! My times are set
I've just looked at my ds3. The reset point is on the back, just to the right of the middle screw at the top of the ds3.
I reset mine many moons ago, I can't remember what was wrong but it did fix it.
Nobody is going to lap a 1:34.5 / 6 / 7 for 13 straight laps. Lots of variables. This is why I don't spend all week hotlapping.
I'm quite concerned of crashes, this is certainly the worst track we could have had the first race on... Too narrow with 16 cars it'Ll be a nightmare, and all passing points are potential for a tap that can prove ruinous.
Getting at T1 and corkscrew with 10 cars at the same time sounds a bet.
Was this track for real the most voted?
