For season 4 I think we need to put something in for people that DC. A percentage of the points are awarded depending on how far they progressed...

50% or more completed = half points?

It maybe a little more complex but how about a percentage of the points that matches the percentage of the race distance? e.g. 10% of race completed = 10% points?

I wouldn't be keen on awarding it for rage quitting. In fact in addition to that I'd want to ban that if possible.

We can certainly move to ban rage quitting and in-race chat, as its distracting to be fair.

I think for the points thing we may have to do it where you get half points if you made it past 50% distance, otherwise it's going to get complex. There will be decimals flying everywhere lol.

When I say 'half points', I mean half the number of points of the position you were in when you DC'ed. So say you were in 6th when you DC'd. That's normally 10 points if you finish there. So if you DC'd in the second half of the race you'd get 5 points.

Or, we could just round up to the nearest whole number to avoid decimals. I think having the percentage of race completetion affecting the percentage of points awarded is the fairest way to do this.

Also for season 4 how about dropping the worst result in that season. So 10 races in a season, the best 9 results go towards the points tally. That way everyone has one opportunity to miss a race weekend because of real life commitments...

OK, with the first point, I guess we can do it in smaller stages. However, I would suggest we do it in bands of 10% - 10, 20, 30 etc. Calculating 15%'s of things would get complex. It would be scored back to your last completed lap. So if you DC'd during lap 3 of a race, you'd be officially classified as having completed 2 laps.

As for your second point, I accept your idea (and johnboy raised it a little while ago), but there is a second way. This involves adding a default number of points for a round you miss, based on your 'points per race' total, which fairly reflects where you may well have finished.

I suggest a vote between the two? Between 'drop scores' and 'points per race'?

Me said that dont think it went down to well.

I think this average points per race should only be in effect in DLC tracks.

An even better third way, combining the two....

If you miss a DLC round due to life circumstance then I reckon it should count as a dropped score, because the DLC points thing is meant as a safeguard for those who don't have DLC.

I think trying to work on 1 solution to both problems is the best thing to do on this.....

Anyway, sorry to say that this is probably my season over, I have a work thing on Friday and next weekend it's my b'day so again I'm going to be out.

Roll on Thursday might racing and good luck to all those involved in the remaining championship battles.

Indeed, best to keep these new rules as simple as possible. So, how about this: we introduce a system of drop scores, where you can drop your worst round of the season (so only 9 rounds count for the championship). Together with this is a DLC-only system where if you haven't bought Spa, you get your points per race calculated, and rounded up to the nearest whole number, then you get those points for both races there. Missing Spa because of life circumstance would count as a drop score and not points per race. Obviously we'd need to be careful for people cheating the system.

Or another way: Perhaps we could do 2 drop scores so that only 8 rounds count. If you miss a DLC round then it would count as one of your drop scores automatically. Perhaps a simpler method, with less work?

Shame! :nervous: karsten is now a shoe-in for the Independent title.

I hope moving to Thursdays does wonders for the series. 👍

Yeh the lack of drivers has really hurt the season a bit , reverse grid isnt as fun .

Title fight looks pretty much sealed up , havent been able to beat Gedi consistently , we usually swap places each round .

Autumn Ring will be tough , GVS i will have a good car but i think it wont be enough .

When its all over ill do the math and see where I would be without my penalties , lost a lot of points with silly mistakes causing penalties.

Skeng don't rule out the title yet mate. I've just got a new job which starts Monday so gvs might be a no go for me if I'm not back in time, just a heads up :(

Grid for the last round could be hopelessly small.

I'm out, priesty is out, gedi could be out. Rob's gone.

Anyone actually racing at GVS? lol :sly:

I'm quite looking forward to getting this season done to be honest... I'm feeling like the series could really do with this break and revamp that it's getting.

I'll be racing, I haven't been joining you guys because I've been having serious problems with my internet connection recently.

Ran a few laps and im pretty slow , i think this track a wing really makes a big difference

I think priesty is out so probably 11. Possibly less if people unexpectedly fail to show.

Fingers crossed I don't DC tonight 👍
