Cheers mate. Be there for season 4.

Practice session going down in my lounge...

OK, unless there's anything else that people want to report, the stewards have finished looking over the two races.

Race 1:

karsten_beoulve Lap 6 - rear-end collision with sc61jgw into Turn 1 - warning

priesty_lfc Lap 8 - unsafe exit from pits - warning

Geeky30 Lap 10 - rear-end collision with sc61jgw into Turn 1 - warning

Race 2:

rolo912011 Lap 2 - Clumsy overtake & divebomb into last chicane, causing priesty one position loss - warning

MSTER232 Lap 6 - Collision with gedi69 into the last chicane, resulting in three positions lost - warning

karsten_beoulve Lap 4 - Pushing sc61jgw into the wall, exit of last turn - causes pile-up behind - warning

karsten_beoulve Lap 9 - Divebomb into the hairpin - 5 second penalty

karsten_beoulve Lap 11 - Squeezing sc61jgw into the wall at the hairpin - 5 second penalty

karsten_beoulve now has 6 penalty points, and as it stands, is banned from racing at Tokyo.

-----

As always, drivers can appeal these decisions, or ask for more incidents to be looked at. The stewards reserve the right to add more penalties later.

This, my friend, is why you don't race on SSR5.

I'm certain the track vote for S4 will throw up some different circuits.

Perhaps this race is also a good argument for switching to Racing tyres for next season?

Would have no problem with racing tyres, but I don't think that was the problem. It's because SSR5 has no run-off areas, sand patches or anything to prevent chaos that we saw today... err yesterday depending on where you live  .

Is that it for all the collisions against me?

Oh well

A change of tyres wont stop what i witnessed lastnight Rolo.:yuck:

As for Gedi's query how can the stewards decisions be concluded? He hasnt had the chance to deliberate over things yet or is he no longer a steward?:dunce: He clearly feels pens arn't being dished out fairly at the moment.:nervous:

Whilst I'll accept this warning but imo its due to poor track design as opposed to dangerous driving by myself.

Having the pit exit on the outside of a corner whilst also being at the start of such a long straight is just stupid, after auto pilot it puts pretty much in prime position to cause an accident. :( Sorry for those involved (think there were 4 of us in total :(

Anyway,

I have a couple of suggestions,

As Jonboy quit the second race I don't think his points from the 1st race should be given, there should be a 1 round minimum for any points to be included in the championship. Whether you promote everybody below up 1 position or just exclude Jon's points/do nothing it's down to you but imo its unfair for someone to take points from others for 1 race if they if don't complete the round and are not going to compete in the series.

Also,

*As your advertising for drivers I think it's wise that before any noobs compete in the series they join us in a practice session to run laps and a couple of short races just so you can check there driving out. Having people just join is good to fill spaces up but it can ruin the championship for others.

*MSTER232 This isn't a reflection on you, the point of the new thread is to actively look for new drivers, adding 4 or more drivers to any series mid way through is going to be risky as its a third of the total grid (especially using the quali system we use) We should be looking for people who want to join a fun competitive series not people who just want to join smash people about then leave.

Anyway Tokyo next, more of the same, can't wait. :(

Literally devastated I can't make Suzuka, probably my favourite track in the game and going to be double points, double the blow. :(

Really dirty 1:54. Low 53 mid 52 expected FL.

Great,

I've just posted 57.4 but I'm hoping to break into high-mid 56's

Can someone remind when street circuits were used in BTCC??? :/

You can clearly tell that SSR5 was designed to be used with a small amount of cars on track, and for short sprint races where a pitstop wouldn't be required.

Well props to you guys taking a huge risk of letting me join in without seeing me drive previously and letting me start on pole for race 1  . Sorry for any contact guys, I think I was trying too hard in the 2nd race to have a good first impression :guilty: .

I haven't watched real life BTCC for a long time, but I don't remember seeing street circuits either. I'll give Tokyo a go, and tell you what my personal FL was.

Also, am I the only one who thinks Tokyo would be a repeat of SSR5 :odd: ? I would imagine it wouldn't be so bad because the track is wider which would probably act as a "run-off" compared to SSR5's width.

Definitely... shame that the Group A era is now overshadowed by over-rated Supertouring...

Skip to 1:05 for the legendary Dave Brodie

Murray Walker's commentary never gets old :D .

Oh well guess i'll concentrate on Suzuka then. in any case i'm surprised i had so many penalties on r2, i didn't think i was that dirty in that compared to Race1. I guess some do complain more than others...

In any case i have no excuses and it never happened so before (i think i was the backmarker with the least infractions so far, lol).

Also the MR is right this is a track that was made for the old 6/8 cars per race limitation in mind of the oldschool Gts. I hope people will grow a brain and start taking out such tracks in S4.

As a last thing i'm surprised no one took penalties for rear ending me or divebombing on me for it happened a lot :D

last word from me; i did brake late at the hairping but IIRC i did not touch any cars in the process so i can't see how is that divebombing. I had the same penalty at tsukuba while going long while trying to pass gedi and didn't touch him.

in any case heads up for Suzuka!

Skeng the Title might be all yours, this series is biased and in favour of others and last night proved that.
Going to have a think over the next few days if I still want to be here.

Probably the track was to blame then, judging by the comments. I advise we all use our track votes a bit more wisely for Season 4 then 👍

gedi's a reserve steward in case me or killa miss an event, so since both of us were present yesterday we didn't need to ask him anything. Sometimes we ask him for a third opinion though 👍 priesty's in a similar position, and even skengdigi

In my view, you have to beat who turns up on the day.

Do other people share priesty's view about test races/practice for newcomers before we accept their entries?

Well, hopefully SSR5 will be a lesson and will encourage people to be more careful now we're aware of the problems. The stewards will do their work as normal.

Sucks you can't be there pal - Geeky's open to a vote on changing the day we race for S4. Looks like a Christmas break will be good for the series in order to help sort things out.

No, that would make it too easy... what we need to do is use tracks with run-off

Looks like we need to think carefully about the tracks we vote for next season!

Rookies generally aren't really the dirtier drivers in the series. After 1 round I'm not gonna get too strict on newcomers. Sadly though, if a newbie has a dirty race first time out it can be off-putting, so I hope it doesn't happen to you. 👍

I'll join if 1 of those spots are still available?

Certainly. What car/team will you be driving? Speaking of priesty's opinion above, perhaps if people would like to see these relaxed driver assessment tests, perhaps they can be trialled now? I'm sure BAZZER will pass with flying colours 👍

You tell us when and the stewards will look.

You give up far too easily. Your lead is now 19 points, Suzuka is coming up, it's double points and you say you excel at that circuit. 👍 The stewards are definitely not biased - if that was the case, I would never penalise you, me, or Geeky. We looked at your Race 2, saw all the incidents and only penalised those which we felt deserved it. You're welcome to believe that not getting your own way means we're biased though. I've personally not received any specific incidents you want me to look at. Don't ask, don't get.

I race in a few different series as it is and like to think I'm a clean and fair driver, I'll have to join you guys when you's are on and practicing.

Add me on PSN, as practice sessions are normally in my lounge. Generally we're online most evenings during the week. 👍

I'll sign you up now as 'unknown car' 👍

As a side note, I'm finishing off the points now.
