^ I can't speak for Airrider on the joining mid season question. But, for the second, I've just been sending an image of the pre-race leader board screen. Not sure how other people have been doing it, but that's the way that I always have.

I just take either a picture of the best lap when I'm on the track or use the Data logger on the top right corner.

Right, time submitted! :)

I rather enjoyed this track in the end. At first, I was just getting frustrated because I was hitting the walls all the time, but once you find a good rythym, you can link the corners together nicely with a little bit of drift. It's a great track.

I'll have to submit my time pretty late tonight my time unfortunately. I was going home after work to giver it another try but was just given football tickets for tonight straight after work. Sorry if it's a problem but I don't remember the time off the top of my head.

Lol I just can't be arsed now to take the RS4 for another drive……I should have picked something fun, this is like driving a library……*yawn* Ok, out for one last run……

Well I have some bad news. I can't get my GT5 disk to work....I'm freezing up on the homescreen staring at Gran Tursimo 5 on my screen. All my other disks work and the ps3 seems to be running fine. I can see one little scratch on the disk itself but I think that's been there for a while now and I've run it fine since then.

I'll keep trying but for now it's not running.

I sent my time in earlier, I think I've had a bit of a reality shock after last week.

That's really unlucky, I hope you can get it working again. I don't know if you have anywhere near you, but over here some shops guarantee disc repairs, so if they can't fix it you don't pay.

Now that sounds like a Top Gear challenge! Buy a few old mobile-library vans from a cash-strapped council, and hit the track. I can see James May not wanting to risk knocking the books off the shelves. All that paper might be a fire risk though.

McRofl and Onboy are correct on the submission rules. Joining midseason, though, I would sort of advise against. You're probably better off waiting for the next season to begin, since every season starts and ends within a month.

It seems that unfortunately, CM isn't in right now, but I'm still waiting for another time. I'll extend our deadline to tomorrow, July 24, 7:00 PM EST.

However, that won't stop me from revealing what your next challenge is.

There are three tracks in Europe that are said to be the most prestigious to drive on: Monaco, the Nurburgring and the Circuit de la Sarthe. The inaugural season saw a race at Monaco...which is where you will also be going. You will go to Cote d'Azur, Forward, Dry, and post a time. As a bonus you will also report your highest speed through its famous tunnel. Good luck.

Ahh that sucks man! I know how frustrating it is to have PS3 problems, I had loads of them over the last couple of seasons. Hope you can get something sorted! Have you tried re-installing the game data? Not sure if it will work, as it could be a hardware problem opposed to a software problem, but it might be worth a shot.

I did that. Tried clearing the cache to but neither worked. I'm quite afraid this dinky scratch is my issue. Could have sworn it was there before but I can't see any other logical reason. I'm playing BC2 on disc fine and games on my hard drive so I'm really not sure what's going on.

Well, I don't know if they do this where you live, but over here, you can rent a game. So how about renting a copy of GT5 and seeing if it'll work?

Ahh right. I don't have any other ideas I'm afraid :/

Do you have a friend with a PS3 that you could try the disk in to see if it is that? Hope you can get it sorted anyway.

Times have been posted.

Congratulations to Off The Bit for earning last week's Double Founder's Jackpot!

Our prize for this one is a brand-new piano!

Uhhh...
...
...and...a new car!

Um……my time isn't there? I remembered I emailed you my time…I'll do it now, just in case…

Well that's a bit embarrassing, leading the championship because I was last! There's a metaphor which may sum it up quite neatly, but young children may be reading this, and I don't want to violate the AUP, so I won't say it. Anyway, I'm glad it's close at the top because if I win the championship with these results, I will probably get lynched.

Good luck all.

^ Haha, I was just thinking that, just looked at the leaderboard. Ahh well, makes it a closer championship :P

How many events are left in this season :dunce:. Is the Monaco one the final round?

I think this is the last round, it's the fourth one anyway. As for the closeness of the championship, I think Airrider is a natural successor to Bernie Ecclestone, somehow it always seems to go down to the wire:lol:

Anyway it's not often I'm in front against anyone other than the AI, so I'll take it while I can. Fun but frightening (I am the kind of online racer who, if I somehow find myself in the lead, will quickly become closely-acquainted with the nearest-available gravel trap*).

*Or if I'm not in the lead.

Yeah, it is the fourth one thinking about it. It really is going to be close then! There's two points separating the top 4.

Haha, I'm very similar to that online to be honest. Most of the time I just panic and crash

I only seem to be any good at time trials. Not as much pressure on those lol.

Can't for for the life of me get the disc to work. Can't really afford a new game at the moment either so I'm out for now, sorry guys.

Can't you borrow another disc from a friend to try and get it to work? Sorry to hear…technology is such a 🤬 sometimes :dopey:

Question: When does this round end? Is it tomorrow or on Sunday? Because I have a time, but if the deadline is tomorrow I need to submit it tonight because of work. Whereas, if it's on Sunday, I may be able to find an hour or so on Saturday to attempt to improve it. I'm sure I can go at least a bit faster. I keep hitting the bloody chicane, its really frustrating.

The due date is in the OP...I think. And thanks for reminding me, took the pictures, forgot to submit :ouch:

Right, my time is in. Good luck to everyone still completing their laps.

I'm going to miss this Golf, it's by far the easiest car to drive I've used in any of the Budget Car Challenges so far.

Time sent in. Last event, shame I couldn't give the RS4 a proper sendoff by giving it a final thrash on Monaco before leaving to Bejing. I won't be coming first, even with the best will in the world, but it was fun. Expect to see me turn up next month :D Roj, your pain in the arse has left the tuning forums, and he's stalking your every post :mischievous:

I'm weird :D

I have posted unofficial times and speeds. I'm waiting for McRoflSandwich's speed and Dheorean's results.

Entrants will have until tomorrow (7/31/11), 9:00 PM EST to make corrections or entries, otherwise I will post them as is, and incomplete. Hurry: the championship decision of Le Tour de Grand Prix may rest on it!

However, for anyone else (or anyone who's left...) here is a shortened three-round season for August, as I'll be preparing to go back to school at the start of September:

August is 300 Month!

The rules for this are the closest I've thought of so far: with a budget of 35k CR, you must go out and buy a car (non-racing, please) with close to but below 300 HP, then buy as few parts as possible to edge its horsepower as close to 300 HP as you can. If you go over, you must limit its horsepower to 300, on the nose.

After doing that you will have 10k CR to spend on other parts outside of paint, maintenance (oil, engine or chassis) or wheels, and no further horsepower increases!

This might possibly be the most technical BCC challenge I've set out, but the few who've stuck with me season after season might be able to crack it. You've handled kei cars, muscle cars, RWD cars, and now you'll handle horsepower-limited cars.

Get your entries ready by Wednesday, August 3, 2011, when I will announce the first challenge!

That sounds like it should be a good event. A quick look at the car list suggests there are over 400 cars that fit into those criteria, so I don't think there's much chance of people picking the same car.

But, there is a chance that someone could pick a GTR! Whoops, gave my plan away! :ouch:
