Alright...it's time to finally reveal our champion for July, and that is McRoflSandwich, again by one point!

Okay everyone, prepare for 300 Month and hold tight until August 3!

Congratulations to McRoflSandwich:tup:

It's true that of the 400+ cars I mentioned the other day, a lot of them might be somewhat similar to others. The odds of two of us picking the same model for the same year have got to be slim though. Sorry, I shouldn't tempt fate!

Awesome! :D

I wasn't sure whether I'd won that last one. I didn't know whether I'd be able to hold of the RS4's straight line speed through the tunnel.

Oh, and I'm afraid I wont be taking part in the next round. I go on holiday next week for three weeks, so there's not a lot of point in me competing for a week. So, I'll give it a miss. Which is a shame, as it looks like a good season with everyone running the same power.

Ahh well. I'll be back in September for that season!

Quick question, if our car costs less than the budget, can the money we saved be used on more modifications? i.e a 20k car leaves me with 15k, so does that mean I have 15k to spend on modifications or 25k?

I think this time I'll deny it. See where you can go with the same parts budget overall.

It's also time to give you your first challenge.

Now that your cars are balanced in power, raw strength will not be enough to overcome most of your challenges. To nail home this fact, you will start your journey at Daytona, Forward. There you will drive on the oval and give me both your fastest lap time and your highest speed achieved.

You will have until next Wednesday, August 10, 2011, 7:00 PM EST to submit your times.

Good driving!

I don't want to speak for Airrider, but I think he usually accepts entries up until the end of the first round so you should be ok. (I hope so anyway, otherwise I'm out too!)

Although in my case, a later entry usually means I select a car that's great on the first challenge but useless anywhere else.

You're fine. Technical as this challenge is, it's still all about playing around within the rules, trying cars you've never had before, and light-hearted fighting for bragging rights.

Right, sent in my time and top speed for this challenge. Just got to wait and see if anyone else is taking part, or else I'd take the win by default! :D

Yeah. Given that and that I want to give others a chance, I will accept entries until Saturday. Get those times in, though.

Meanwhile, I will announce the next challenge.

Current WRC rules create rally cars which have about 300 horsepower. How well will you fare with those rules? For your next challenge you must go to the Eiger Nordwand W Trail Reverse and post a time.

Finally, I'd like to debut the Founder's Car for this season, and a personal favorite of mine since I tried it out on a few circuits:

Vintage Red 1995 Mazda efini RX-7 Type R-S - 25405 CR

Engine Mods

Low RPM Turbo
ECM Tuning

Peak Output 305 HP-limited to 300

10000 CR Budget Parts

Height Adjustable Suspension - 4500 CR
Twin Plate Clutch - 2500 CR
Semi Racing Flywheel - 1500 CR
Aero Kit (Tailwing type C) - 1500 CR

Other Important Stats

All maintenance performed
Stock tires: Sports Hard

4WD you say? "Born on the rally stages"?

I've got an uneasy feeling my "we can't possibly have two people pick the same car" comment is about to slap me in the face, I guess only Airrider knows for sure until Saturday!

I guess it's 50/50 whether we've gone for the same manufacturer, hopefully we've got different model numbers at least (otherwise it will be very embarrassing if I'm 5 seconds off the pace).

Oh god……this might just become at test of driving skill in the end……please tell me your car is a Lancia Delta Intergrale thingy?

Results are in, but I will decide to still accept entries.

There are ties in more ways than one: Off The Bit and Onboy123 managed to get the same car totally by accident, a 1996 Impreza STI III, and just because that's very amusing I've given both of you a bonus point.

There's also a three-way Founder's Speed tie! Everybody got within 4 MPH of my speed, 166 MPH, and so everyone gets the speed portion of the Founder's Jackpot.

...I was going to give you guys a prize, but how am I going to split an authentic Supermarine Spitfire amongst three people...

I will keep my mouth shut in future . I was actually after a different model Impreza but it never showed up in the UCD.

Only 0.024 seconds behind Onboy123, but it would have been very embarrassing to be much further behind with exactly the same car around Daytona! Something tells me it won't be quite so close this week, but who knows?

Oh don't be so pedantic! (Jeremy Clarkson voice) :D  but yea, FIX IT, OR WE'LL HAVE 15K EXTRA TO SPEND ON OUR CARS! :D

My time is in, I don't think I will be quite so close to Onboy 123 this time. Hopefully I can be ahead of the 350Z, being in a "proper" rally car has got to give me a chance right? :scared:

Edited announcement: I couldn't get in a Founder's Time and not all three competitors have revealed their times yet, so I'll be moving the results reveal to Saturday.

Bigger announcement: I'm redacting the statement I made at the start of this that I would only be doing 300 Month as a three-round challenge. It will be a proper four-round season from now on, so you've got two more rounds (three, plus this one) to battle it out in your 300 HP cars!

Keep it up!

Anyway, it's time to announce the third round of the competition.

Modern BTCC touring cars are limited to about 270 horsepower. How will you fare with 300? To find out, you will go to Laguna Seca Forward (yes, I'm aware the BTCC doesn't go to America) and run a lap of the famous track.

I'll also ask you to get the best Photomode picture you can of your car diving down the legendary Corkscrew as a secondary challenge.

I don't double-post normally, but I must bump up the thread because I am missing a time from Onboy.

Look, this is an ultimatum. If I do not receive your time by midnight EST of tomorrow, Sunday, August 21, 2011, I will assume you cannot post your time and you will be listed as DNF for the Eiger Nordwand W Trail challenge.

Ah, sorry, my phone is acting up, I can't get it to hook up to my laptop to get the picture. I'll send it today.

Thanks. Now that I have all three times, it's time to get to judging.

Hopefully everybody can get photos, too: it's been too long since I had a "how cool does your car look" event.

All three of you, congratulations for the closest event we've had so far: Slirb wins this week, beating Off The Bit by a scant 0.087 seconds! Bringing up third is Onboy123 with a still-close entry of 0.859 seconds behind Off The Bit.

Get to Laguna Seca and get those photos!

So close! Congratulations to Slirb for the win.

Edit: My time and photo are in for Laguna Seca. What's the betting that Onboy123 and I have both picked the exact same paint scheme for our Subarus? Probably taking his car photo from the exact same location on the corkscrew as well!

If all goes well you might be able to find out tonight.

If not, you've got until Saturday to sweat it out. Haha!

Anyway, it's time to announce the final event.

There isn't anything special about this except that I want to close out 300 Month in style.

I originally thought of using puns from the film 300 to figure out where to send everyone.

I failed.

So, instead, I close out 300 Month in an epic fashion and to correctly send this sport off for a one-month break: there will be no BCC events for September as I need to acclimatize to college.

You will go to the Nurburgring Nordschleife, Forward, and post a lap time.

Good luck, and know this: even though there's been only three of you entering for 300 Month, this has been the most awesome thing to organize.

I hope to see you all again in October, after this little hiatus of mine.

Tell your friends! I'm hardly-HARDLY-out of ideas!

Join up! Drive cars you normally wouldn't! Enjoy (or, you know, create) banter and chatter on this thread! Who knows? Maybe you'll build a budget car you really, really love. I know I did this season with my tail-happy RX-7...

I'll email my time in later in the day, got school now so it won't be brilliant…and do I email the picture?
