Thanks for adding up the scores for me Harvey, and yes I did inform Airrider that I can't continue much longer as deputy. Like you I'm also doing this from my cell phone, which makes large posts a pain, and since you can't have two apps open on the same screen its back and forth 15 times for the info I need, which is killing my home button. Also, I've had problems opening some attached photos in my emails, (which MadMax found a way around via photobucket and PM's). All in all I'm sure there is a better equipped person
(mentally, electronically and time wise) for the job.

I'm going to try and finish this season to give Airrider time to find a new duputy.

Thanks for giving me a try, sorry I can't continue.

Now a short ad by your sponsors:

Are you bored? Are looking for something new? Do you have a real computer? Do you want up to the minute insider info on the latest BCC
Challenges?! Then what are you waiting for, PM Airrider Now!
You could be the next Budget Car Challenge DEPUTY!
But Wait! If you PM Airrider in the next 15 minutes...

So everyone just going to sit back and watch the grass grow or do we got some action in store?

Thinking MadMax ran a killer time with my Evo (feel sorta bad that I couldn't run this weeks challenge as I'm sure my time would have been much slower.) Wondering if the 4wds will dominate again this week because of putting the power to all four of those hard plastic discs or if this is the week for the Muscle cars to show their power.:odd:

It's time for a shootout run. You will have until Friday to complete the final challenge of Sitting Uncomfortably.

You will also be fighting against this season's Founder's Car, trying to match its score for a bonus, but to try to keep things interesting, you won't know what it is until the end of the week.

Street cars on racing courses is, in the hands of the wrong driver or in the wrong weather, a disaster waiting to happen. What about yours?

You will go to Suzuka, Forward, in the wet and post a lap time. It should be full rain when you make your run. The Founder's Jackpot will be decided by whoever posts the closest time to mine.

Good luck, good driving, and...um...thanks for bearing with me.

Oh yeah make me run on a track I hate in the rain!:lol:

Not sure even having a great car can help me this week, might end up spending all week just trying to get one clean lap.

Good luck everyone.👍👍

Remember as Harvey Wallbanger always says...
Drive hard and have fun!:cheers::gtpflag:

It slipped my mind too. Who would I email the photo to? I'm confused as to who is doing what at the moment :dunce:
I would suggest sending the results to both Airrider and gt4viper. Viper said he would do his best to help finish this season out but won't be able to continue as deputy past that point because of technical limitations.

Which brings up the point that Airrider is still looking for a deputy who has both the technical resources and the time to keep this running smoothly. Unfortunately I have the same technical limitation that viper does (we're both stuck using cell phones exclusively at present:drool:) so I can't act as a deputy.

Right I'll send the photos now, I've done the best I can to screenshot my speed across the 1/4 mile mark, I'm only about a hundredth of a second away, is this OK?

I'd say that as long as there is no huge visible gap between the rear of your car and the 1/4 mile line your good to go.
MadMax managed to snap my cars photo with the rear wheels crossing the line. I doubt that another 10 or twenty meters would have made any significant difference in my listed speed.

Eh, I snapped the picture as soon as the front wheels touched the line.

That's what I did. If I took it when the rear wheels went over the line my speed would've been 1mph higher and I don't think that would've been fair. That said I do have the slowest car here so it wouldn't have mattered. :dopey:

I dunno about slowest car, my car was spinning its wheel until about 70mph, I could've probably gone seconds faster with a decent set of tyres :P

Seriously doubt that the length of the car would change the listed speed. But if it does then it would only be by like 1mph/a couple kmh at most. (Not sure what units of measurement were we supposed to use for this? I'm in the U.S. so do everything in the familiar to me mph but I know most of the world has switched to kmh which in this case gives a slightly more accurate indication of speed due to the smaller increments.:embarrassed:)

I have 198bhp.

I've been using MPH since the start since both Airrider (and gt4viper) is in the US.

MadMax was kind enough to give me my speed in mph though I'm pretty sure Finland uses kmh.:D

I wonder if 4wd's will be in 13 second range. I doubt muscle cars stand a chance this time. I was burning rubber up to 50-60 mph and my 0-60 time is quite slow for power/weight ratio of my camaro.

As for the trap speed, i think it should be taken after the rear wheels cross the line. I snapped a photo of my speed as the line was right in between front and rear wheels and time displayed was slightly off the clocked 1/4 mile time by 150 or so milisecs less.

It seems as though I chose a powerful RWD car thinking it would be fairly good for any drifting challenges, and the only challenge the car suited was one I did terribly in :D

Dunno how well I'll do with this Suzuka lap, it's agonisingly slow when you're trying not to spin the wheels constantly.

Yes...but only because MadMax was driving...I'm sure I would have gotten a significantly slower time.

Verizon is shipping me a replacement phone and swear that the software update that HTC produced and that they're currently testing for an April release will cure my Mobil Hotspot issues so maybe by this time next month I'll finally be able to download from the playstation store and get the Route X DLC.:grumpy:

I took the speeds at max 0.018 seconds after the 1/4 mile time (based on the clock in the middle , not the total time on top)
I also checked the speed difference about 0.025 seconds before and after the 1/4 mark to be sure I won't be recording too low or too high trap speeds.

Oh right , I had a feeling (hunch) miles is the measure of speed wanted in a 1/4 mile test.
And I might have based the assumption slightly on the fact that speeds before were also listed / scored in mph. :sly:

I still use kilometers for circuit racing , but at 1/4 mile it doesn't matter as I'm only looking at the rpms.
(and 0-60 & 0-100 / 0-100 & 0-200) Using miles gives better data for 400m/ 1/4 mile in some (lower BHP) cases.

Oooh...looks like McRoflSandwhich and myself have opened a bit of a gap going into the last challenge. wonder if I can do good enough on 🤬 Suzuka in the 🤬 rain to actually hang onto second place.:scared:

@McRoflSandwhich hey how much HP and torque is your scooby making? Had sort of hoped I might have an advantage there for the drag challenge but we split that one with our Stig...erh I mean MadMax driving for us.:D

Heh. Turns out that extra 1mph from snapping my photo a bit later would've made a difference. Never mind, I shall have my revenge at Suzuka.

Not really.
