Things have been a bit hectic here again. I will extend the limit of submissions this week to Tuesday, 3:00 PM EST.

I will also announce a track by then.

Alright everyone, great job last week! This week it's time to go to Suzuka, forward, in the wet!

Everyone make sure you contain your GTP usernames in your emails to me, as always. Emails are the ONLY way I'll get your submission!

There was no Founder's Challenge this week and therefore no bonus, although here's what you could have won: one million bucks!

Your first payment would have been today.

Hey Airrider, do you even check your verizon.net email? I emailed you my time last Thursday I believe and I am still not posted up here...

Stig is correct, but technically, you just need to erase:
7th: Chew YL ('97 Toyota MR2 G-Limited): 4 pts
as you listed him twice, and the second location was the correct one.

Saber 123316 ('10 Chevrolet Camaro SS): 1:31.493 +9 pts

Chew YL ('97 Toyota MR2 G-Limited): 1:38.446 +4 pts

Jason~Bourne ('10 Chevrolet Camaro SS): 1:35.073
Zustic ('97 Mazda RX-7 Type RS-R (FD)): 1:35.076
Nick ('99 Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R): 1:35.547
Off The Bit ('10 Chevrolet Camaro SS): 1:35.786
ZoenVisje ('00 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI GSR T.M.): 1:38.284
Chew YL ('97 Toyota MR2 G-Limited): 1:38.446

Guillaume Rosseau ('76 VW Golf GTI Mk I): 1:42:830
Hamish Williams ('97 Honda Civic Type R (EK)): 1:46.731

Has this ever been cleared up?

Excellent, I am made up. Didn't think I would be in the running with this RX-7. I know it's only 8th but I was 11thor 12th the week before. Although it does look like fewer participants this week.

:dunce:****Stupid question alert****:dunce:

We keep the same cars this week, right?
The change of car comes AFTER 27th Feb?
Also, wet? Means wet tires? Can we buy those or do we need to of had spare in the budget? In other words can we buy the tires even if it takes you over the 50k?

Just checking, cheers

Yes, the change comes after the 27th. If you need it, that is.

Yeah, I was surprised that there were actually fewer participants.

Sorry to point this out. I know you are doing a lot in running this and for that I indeed thank you but I am missing off of the overall leaderboard.

And could I get clarification on the wet tires issue? I would like to start practicing as soon as possible.

Cheers

To my understanding wet tires are included in the price of race tires. If you've bought only sports tires you're stuck with them.
I'm not sure whether a wet track is a good idea? Should people forget to set grip reduction to real this would really mess things up big time...

Heh, I did want to mix it up. Racing tires may put drivers at an advantage here, but let's see how much of one.

Also, that oversight's been fixed.

3rd again? At least I'm consistant. 2nd in the championship is good though. Looks like I'm going to have to fight the Caterham. :P

Wet Suzuka... this'll be tough. :ouch:

I´m sad. Sorry Couldn´t post a time, due to couple of exams this week. Study comes first right now. But hopefully coming back for Round 3.

I had a time thought, roughly 1:46,xxxmin...way out of Top10---:ouch:
Hopefully I can get some rounds this weekend and post a time again.

For the future challenges, I found increasing or better decreasing the budget the best way to keep this entertaining. Like drop it to 25.000 Cr. Almost the amount you have from starting the game. Or restrict tires. That might challenge more the technical aspect of the different cars and put emphasize on tuning and appropriate mods.

I´m looking forward of whats coming up next. Wish me luck for this week. 2 Exams left. Then Racing Weekend, then more tests to pass...So much stress...:scared::crazy:

Congratulations to all up there in the ranks. Well done.

I think we should just stick with the tyres we originally purchased.
I dont see why i should get wet tyres, just because i bought racing tyres, whilst those with only sports tyres miss out.

I'll be racing with my " Racing Hard " tyres... 👍
just have to watch the throttle.......... good week to be in an impreza/lancer.....

That's very noble of you to not change to the wets.

I am regretting changing my original car from the Lancer to the RX7 now though, lol.

I have a plan for when we can change cars, something a different I hope. We'll see.

I may have to take a slice of humble pie and eat my own words, after testing this evening. Am unable to complete a clean lap using racing hard tyres, without driving around at 100km/h lol......:scared: spinning off at every second corner.

using racing wet tyres, have put down a low 2.3#.## in my first session of testing

hhhhmmmmmmnnn......

Awesome, 6th again. Im consistent at this lol. But 3rd overall, well thats a suprise. Still 6 points off the next person though, but if I'm happy with where I am at the moment.

I'll try and run some laps in my RX7 now. Why, oh why did I not pick a 4WD car

Maybe I shouldn't ask this but I can't change my tyres anyway but did you put racing tyres on so you have a set of wets or are they sports?

^ Nope, just running sports softs. Thats what I was running last round. Its really frustrating. Its difficult to finish a lap without spinning.

I like it. Sure we're all spinning, but that's the nature of good car control. Those that can get through at a moderately brisk pace and no spin will come out well ahead of the banzai guys who spin every now and then. We're all gonna have slow times so we're not going to be bragging to anyone about our Suzuka laps, but I think it'll be a good exercise.

I'm not saying I don't like it. It was just very frustrating at first. After a few laps I've started to get a feel for the car now and have been putting a few consistent laps down. Now its time to try and increase the pace a bit.

This is one of those situations where I regret buying a torquey V8 car. The only way to put any power down is to stay a gear above what the gear indicator suggests and using half throttle and brakes. :nervous:

Potentially really dumb question alert.

How do I keep it raining? I only have the Suzuka Circuit/Change Weather and I drove for quiet a few laps and it stopped raining? Should I be looking for another course? Have I got to unlock it?

Potentially really dumb question alert over.

I just kept restarting after every lap, didn't stop raining that way. 👍

Managed an okay time, it'll probably be blown away by the guys on racing tyres though. :ouch:
