Quick question, is everyone running one lap in the rain and then restarting or does it make a difference in lap times if it stops raining ? so far I haven't noticed any difference either way but I'll do it the way everyone else does.

if you open a lobby with suzuka change weather you can set it to constant rain

You know, I was thinking about that earlier. If nothing else, it would be fun to have an online lobby so we could curse at each other, the rain, the tires and the grass in real-time!

FWIW, I'm told that racing online results in slightly different laptimes than in practice and that you'll need to alter your setup in order to be quick in either. Not sure it's true, but I'm sure it's been discuss in depth somewhere on here.

I thought that too, I thought the physics were different online, so it would produce different results. I've just been doing it through practice mode. Usually get 2 laps done, then restart to prevent it stopping raining.

anyone broke into the 20's?

Do you mean the 2:20s? I can't get out of the 3:10s. Seriously!!!!

Not sure I actually have enough time in RL this week to practice and get a lap in.

EASILY....I like this round. Let´s go 4WD.

I suggest the fastest time to be around 2:25 or even better.

I am going to be SO off the pace of the winning time. I am just hoping the rear wheel drives are having as a tough time as myself. That being said, if I could get more than just 20-30 minutes to have a good go I reckon the time will come down but this week is manic in RL. :nervous:

I'll be submitting my time shortly. It's definately not going to be as good as the 4WD times or those who are on racing wet tyres, but hopefully it's good enough to come ahead of the other RWD sports tyre cars.

i've had a good go and i think the caterham will be up there. its surprisingly good in the wet must be the low torque factor

I submitted my time after resetting each lap on Suzuka weather change in practice. Perfect timing on this challenge for me as the roads in N.Texas are iced over right now and its kind of fun sliding around on them as well.

What sort of times are you guys running in the RWD cars with sports tyres. I want to know what I'm up against . I'm really struggling with this RX7 to put the power down.

Also, to the guys saying about running into the 2:20s... Have you got grip reduction set to real? Because I'm nowhere near that time, it just seems really fast thats all lol.

I'm in the higher 20's in the seven but avoid curbs at all costs, a lot of the pace with the seven is from it being light and the fact its not a power monster so I don't suffer from rear wheel spinning and if they do changing up restores grip

Hmm. Maybe it's random. The first time I ran in the wet, I got about 3 laps before the sun came out. Restarted without leaving the course, and it was wet again for 3 laps. Maybe just try it a few times.

Im on suzuka with weather change and its bright and sunny. Ive tried 4 laps straight and there wasnt any weather change. Any suggestions

Same happened to me, I've tried exiting and re-entering 3 times and it wasn't working.

I broke down and went to an online lobby which sucks, because you can't restart, without running a full lap of non timed, there's tire wear, and less grip overall usually, regardless of what the reason is online/offline, but whatever.

I ran 3 laps and decided I was done.

It seems to be random I tried 6-7 times today and couldn't get it to rain in practice but if you go to arcade mode its raining everytime. I don't know if the physics are any different in arcade mode but they didn't seem to be.

Wow, and thats with grip redutcion set to real. Thats seriously quick, theres no way I can match anywhere near that lol.

OK, time sent in. Surprising as well, not going to win, could even be last but stil over 30 seconds quicker than I was a couple of days ago, not had time to give this one a good try but hey, I'm happy with what I sent in.

With all this talk of 20's, I'm starting to wonder how close to the bottom I am for round 3. Hopefully I can make up for lost points with round 4, whatever the track choice is.

it certainly will be interesting , it will find out who has the best car control. The 4wd boys should blitz this mind you

Congratulations, drivers! The third round of this season is over! Now it's time to announce the fourth round.

We're going to Cote D'Azur, forward, in the dry.

And now, it's time to announce this week's Founder's Challenge.

I ran around Suzuka in 3:11.486, and so this week's winner is rousso82 with a time of 3:05.107! Your prize this week:

A Ferrari F1 car, delivery pending!

...uhhh...HALF...a Ferrari F1 car, delivery pending.

Aw yeah, just managed to claim a point! Still second in the championship though, suprisingly.

Cote D'Azur should be fun. At least it's dry. :P

Do I see 4 Subarus in the Top 4? Or at least 4WD? This car actually felt pretty enjoyable in the WET. Here is a quote of the famous Jeremy Clarkson on the 4WD System:

introducing a Porsche Carrera 4: "...it has 4WD System for starters, which on a dry track, makes it slower..."

Congratiulations to everybody, and now let´s rock Monaco.

giggity

Edit:
Aw yeah, just managed to claim a point!

I'm disputing this!!!
Why isn't my name up there? Did you not get my email?
Also, when doing rankings, if there's a tie, the next driver after the tie, is actually 2 positions lower.

Meaning:
1
2
2
4
and there would be no third place at the time technically.

I sent my time on saturday with a 2:26.7

Edit: you've put me as classifieds instead of racercam so I should be 2nd overall with 23pts

5th!!!!!! WOOHOO........ I am surprised. Especially as at the beginning of the week I couldn't get out of the three minutes range. I half gave up and only went back to it on Sunday to have one last attempt. Maybe I should have a little more faith in my RX-7.:)

just did a quick practise session whilst waiting for a new Top gear to start on the telly.
cote's not one of my favourites, but im happy to be on a dry track , so no complaints here 👍
got my time down to a mid 1:4#.##. which I'm sure will be easily beatable.
I'm fairly happy with my first half of the track, maybe 0.5-1 seconds to gain, but i'm sure i can get at least another 1.5 seconds out of the second half.

How are we handling the chicane? 2 wheels on track, or can cut it at your leisure?

looking forward to seeing how my RX7 stacks up against the 4wd's and that beast the camaro......:)

PS does anyone else think we should move this thread into the 'online racing' forum? think it might be easier to keep track of.

cheers!
