aww... WTF!? j/k that's great! get the VIII!? <--notice the politically correct spelling? :dopey:

Nope, even better. The Turbo Coupe died! :dopey: Now I no longer have a "daily driver". However, as soon as my credit is up to par, I'm going to finance that way I can get the Mark VIII -- and I'm going to get the one with the 1997-1998 body style. :D I'm going to be so much debt... but at least I'll look cool doing it. :dopey:

 Sweet! the financial guy in debt eh? I'm sure it won't be a long time unless the market crashes like GM is... or your tar. :D

I'm going to have to withdraw from this club, my mom decided to get rid of the Caravelle after it left puddles of gas in the driveway and now i have an Intrepid that actually works and would never be in here unfortunately.

mm i have renault 5 gtl '84 for about a year now.

pros : it got 269 000km and still running
small in traffic
good 0-40 km/h acceleration
good space in the back
great mpg 800km/30 liter
rare
always start
girls says its cute

cons : bad acceleration after 40km/h
take about 4 minutes from 70km/h to 120km/h
door open at 100km/h
rust everywhere
exhaust line shake as hell
no power
red line at 4000 rpm
shift stick not accurate
4 speed manual
stall when its too hot
have the biggest crack in a windshield ever.
big hole in rear wing driver side
rear wiper never work
defrost never worked
fuse always burn

i got pic but need someone to tell me how to post them.

ps: sorry for my english, im from quebec.

thanks

i think i might have to withdraw from this club sadly
a week ago i took my car in to a garage to get the bodywork sorted.
i now have a nice new shiny rear driver side wing and reasonable looking rear bumper
my small dent on offside is less noticebale as well now :)

yeahh my crappy car is...

1985 Toyota MR2

pros:
- Running pretty good at ocer 230,000 miles
- It still starts if it's over 35 degrees
- Hasn't cost me jack **** in repairs
- 0-60 in 9 seconds (or so)
- Over 35 MPG most of the time

cons:
- It says 172,369 miles > but the odometer broke around 60,000 miles ago
- Center console completely covered in duct tape
- Tape player's been broke for 8 years
- Clock's been broke for almost that long
- Missing rear bumper
- Left flip-up headlight works when it feels so inclined
- So many rock dings in the hood, it looks like I drove straight through the beaches of Normandy

Luke123 and Joecool593: You are now both members! Suckstobeyou!!

My car needs a new muffler and new shocks, but I'll only have it for 2 more months, so I'm not gonna replace them! :D

I have a 1981 Toyota Corona CS-X

Pros--
+Its still going after over 340,000km
+I can spin the wheels on gravel or in the wet
+It came with Air con
+It cost AU$200 and $1500 to get roadworthy
+It has 4 wheels
+It came with a jack so I can theroetically replace a wheel if I get a puncture.
+The drivers seat is comfy
+I can drag a large car with it
+The brakes dont squeal
+It cost $200

Cons--
-The battery doesnt charge properly
-The bit that squirts water on the windscreen doesnt work
-The wipers only work cos I araldited plastic on the connection so it doesnt fall apart
-It only has 1 hubcap
-It leaks water where my feet go
-The tape deck doesnt work
-It gets speed wobbles at 130kph
-It does a standing qtr mile in about 23 seconds
-If the day is over about 23 degrees celcius I cant drive over 80kph or it over heats
-The gear stick often pops out, usually in the middle of roundabouts
-There wasnt enough room to put the 6x9 speakers I bought for $3 in so I had to take out the back seat and put a wooden wall in instead
-I had to take the aircon out because it ate up too much power
-It has a holden Starfire 1.9 L4 motor, which is basically a Holden 202 with the middle cylinders cut out, and i dont think they reprofiled the cam
-The tip of the muffler came away and is hanging on by a piece of wire
-The fuel filter is stuck on with gaffer tape
-The resistor attached to the coil had to be screwed to the wheel well
-It leaks oil like its English
-Its worse with water
-The wing mirrors are attached about 6 inches back from the front of the door
-It chooses its own idle speed from day to day
-Everytime I go to my mums it wont start when I want to leave

Thats all I could think of at the moment.

What a car! I find it interesting to see how much longer it lasts. At least it gets you from A to B...

Well Im getting a new battery hopefully today so it should last untill I can afford to fix the car I got for free. Then I'll be taking to to a open track day and wrecking it. i just hope I get at least 2 laps out of her before she dies.

1990 Volvo 740 GL

Pros:
- Safest car on the road (I have a daughter)
- Power windows
- Sunroof
- Nice Blaupunkt head unit
- Heated seats (Well, seat. Passenger side is broken)
- Will run forever
- Cost me $700

Cons:
- Anemic 2.3Liter has trouble pushing a 2 ton car
- The above 2 ton car is about as aerodynamic as a carboard box
- Automatic slushbox transmission
- All of the above result in speed nearing that of a school bus
- The sunroof in the 'pros' section...is manual. I gotta crank that b!tch
- Most of the paint on the car is damaged. Clearcoat is gone and paint has oxidized.
- Hood, both fenders, passenger quarter panel, and rear panel are damaged beyond repair
- The Blaupunkt head unit from above is pushing factory speakers. One of which is blown, and one of them doesn't work at all.
- Passenger brake light doesn't work, and the lens is held on with duct tape due to an unfortunate run in with a car wash at a gas station.
- Brake booster cuts out at high ambient temperatures, making for some interesting situations.
- No headliner. Bare metal for roof. Except for on the sunroof. It has a falling headliner.
- I'm sure I could go on, but I don't think I will. I think my car is crappy enough to fit in.

oooo dude i gotta join

1996 Chevy 2500 pickup.

Pros:
454ci motor
good get up and go for a truck, decently fast
good for going off road
A/C ?
Tinted Windows?
Backseat?
shiney paint?
roomy
180k miles and still no bad rings or cracked block even after several over-heatings

Cons:
automatic
12 miles to the gallon
leaks powersteering fluid ( i have to add some at least once a week, havent had time to change the part yet, the fluid eats away everything rubber on that side of my truck including a-frame bushings, balljoints, shocks, etc.)
head lights point straight down
no bumper
dented fender from the only wreck ive ever been in
crack in windshield
rip in seat
leak in radiator(have to add water at least once every two days, havent had time to fix that either.)
blows a fuse for some reason, causes it not to run as smoothly as it should
I had to jam a stick into the windshield wiper motor to get it to work, still doesnt sometimes
really stiff suspension make for uncomfortable ride
definatly NOT attractive to women (the truck i mean)
a few dings after being caught in a hail storm
1 foot long scratch from someones key
inside door handle doesnt work on driver side door

well thats all i can think of. all in all its not really that bad of a vehicle, i have friends with worse

Volvos are not eligible to be in the C3! :sly:

You should be thankful! I can say that because there is a strong possibility that I may be purchasing a Volvo 850 T-5/T-5R/Turbo/R in the VERY near future. :dopey:

I'm afraid I can no longer be a member of C3 as I sold my car today (to my sisiter) and have bought my uncle's car from him - a like-new 2001 Lancer MR Coupe that's well-maintained as my uncle is a Spare Parts Manager in Sydney. And all for six grand.

Do you race?

Ah, what the hell, I'll give it the ol' college try.

1994 Plymouth Acclaim

Pros:
- Easy to start about 90% of the time.
- Automatic transmission (more time focusing on the road and not the shifter)
- Previous owner removed the original engine in favor of some Chevy V6 with a supercharger on it, meaning...
- It FLIES. Fast as hell and accelerates awesomely. I'd feel confident on a drag strip with her.
- Handles okay on the roads, for the most part.
- No problems changing gears or getting into reverse.
- Goes easy on its oil.

Cons:

- Automatic transmission (what can I say, even if I'm more comfortable without a stick, it'd probably be better with one, but then again...)
- Does not have a tachometer. No way to tell how many RPMs the engine is running at, or how close you are to redline.
- Heat, heat, HEAT. If left standing still while running for too long, the engine begins to heat up. RAPIDLY. This has lead to some tense moments in traffic.
- Front wheel drive.
- The A/C tends to make weird screeching noises while cutting into the power of the engine drastically.
- The back end had to be replaced after my mom backed up straight into a pole.
- Some rusting around the fenders.
- Spark plugs desperately need changing.
- A crappy burgundy paint job that is dull from years of dust, dirt, sunlight and bird **** coming down on it.
- The speedometer occasionally refuses to move. This is fixed with a nice, hard rap on the dashboard with one's fist.
- The front passenger side seat is equipped with the "Automatic Shoulder Belt From Hell (tm)". It sometimes traps the unfortunate shotgun-rider in the car by stopping in the middle of its track, requiring you to unhook it manually. Often, the Automatic Shoulder Belt From Hell (tm) will then proceed to mock you by finishing its run to the end of the track by itself.
- A bit of a gas guzzler, but not too bad.
- What angers me the most...it COULD BE BETTER! If my dad wasn't so intent on keeping his 2000 Ford Ranger Super Cab in top form, we could probably afford to fix a lot of these problems.

Hey guys, I'm still a member, but not sure for how much longer... scored myself a 1974 datsun 180b sss to compliment my suzuki hatch

Heres the pics
My hatch

My sss

A little bit about my sss
- Its only done 77000kms
- mechanically reasonable
- only a few spots of rust
- very fast (compared to the hatch)
- 0-100km/s in around 10 seconds
- I suspect it has a limited slip diff, considering i rip 2 wheel burnouts
- 4speed manual
- tinted windows 👍
- cost me 400 AUD

The only downers:
- the engine overheated the othernight... I havent worked out why tho... its losing water
- lots of creaking in the cabin- some trimming needs to be tightened or something
- rust is gonna cost a fair bit to remove (1200AU)
- petrol cap lid is missing
- rear left mudguard broke away during a random burnout

I still think i should belong to the club as this 180b is not fixed and until i fix it, it wont be my daily driven car

feel free to ask more questions!

Fix it yourself--you'd be amazed at what you can fix yourself, unless it is completely rusted through and needs new panels welded into place. Get some 220 grit sandpaper, some 400 grit and some 800 or 1000 grit. Sand it out with the 220, buy some primer and bondo at an auto shop, sand and fill until you get it looking good, and then take the car to an auto body supply store. They should be able to color match the paint for you. Unless the whole thing needs to be painted.

I just bought a 89 toyota 4x4 ext cab. Needed a little work, and would we did it all ourselves. It looks freaking awesome now. It would easily get me out of the club, except I'm going back to grad school, and we pretty much bought it to fix it and make some $$$ on it to pay for the brand new laptop I had to get for school. But if it works out really well, I may do it again, and then use the money to buy one to keep.
