Some of the gameplay reminds me of Frontlines Fuel Of War in a good way. I still only plan to rent this. Especially since it doesnt look like it will have a 4 player co-op campaign. I want that back from WAW.

It looks like Treyarch have managed to address a lot of the issues that have plagued the series to date, but I don't know if it will be enough to overcome the fundamentally-flawed gameplay mechanics. I'll wait to see how the branching storylines play out. The series really dumbed down the single-player experience to be a glorified tutorial for online multiplayer, so the least it can do is restore single-player to be something people are interested in once again. That said, they've got their work cut out for them. No-one has ever really gotten the concept of branching storylines and moral decisions right in a game before, but if Treyarch can crack it, it could seriously redefine the genre in a positive way.

Also, that Woody guy is a really good narrator.

Call of Duty: Elite Not Included in Black Ops 2 Special Editions

Last year, one of the biggest benefits in purchasing a special edition of Modern Warfare 3 was the inclusion of Call of Duty: Elite. While many initially thought the trend would continue with this year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, reps from Activision have confirmed that it won’t.

Today, Activision officially announced its Care Package and Hardened editions of Black Ops 2 and detailed the contents of each package.

Gamers immediately stormed Twitter and began asking questions as to whether Call of Duty: Elite 2.0 would or would not be included.

The tweet from David Vonderhaar hints that we can expect a few changes from the Elite service this year.

I have I admit, I really wanna try out zombies in this. Not to interested in multiplayer or the story but zombies seems pretty cool.

I also have to ask, do you get Nuketown zombies for preordering the normal edition of the game or do you only get it with the hardened and prestige editions?

Only the Hardened and Care Package editions. I guess we'll be able to get it later on, like the WAW maps in Black Ops 1.

That pisses me off. I don't wanna pay $20 extra just for that and I also don't wanna wait until 2 months until the next Call of Duty game comes out because I'll probably sell it by that point. What else is in the hardened?

Hm, doesn't seem to be worth the extra money but I really want the Nuketown zombies. I suppose I'll make a trip to GameStop sometime soon to preorder it. Plus it'll go nicely with my steel cases for Black Ops and MW2.

Last time I was in GameStop (to pick up F1 2012, so the 18th) I was told the Hardened and Care Package editions were already sold out. I'd call before I made the trip.

That new zombie gampeplay mode reminds me of L4D in a good way. Should be a lot of fun. I still plan to rent this game first and if its a lot of fun I will buy it. Havent purchased a COD since WAW.

Call of Duty Elite free with Black Ops 2, DLC season pass sold separately

Activision is making some major changes to its "Elite" initiative with the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Namely, the company announced today that Elite services will be free when the game launches, while downloadable content packs will be for sale separately either a la carte or as part of a Season Pass.

Unlike Modern Warfare 3, the "season of content" for Black Ops 2 will stick to the more traditional map pack model. Activision has announced plans for four DLC packs, which will include both multiplayer and new Zombies content. Each is priced at $15. A discounted Season Pass will be available for $49.99. They'll start hitting in 2013.
