Suzuka East, Suzuka East, Suzuka East!!!!!!!!!!!

Really?? I figured you would have been one of the biggest haters of this track with its 1.5 braking points.

I'd have to second this.... I've found from my experience that you can gain or lose a lot of time in the S curves. It's be a good technical challenge I think...

Yes, Monaco, london and Tsukuba are musts! Btw if you don't like "parades" Then you're gonna hate Clubman Stage Route 5, super long straight.

But that's a lot of street circuits. What about Nurb. GP/D?

lol it's 'cause Brosif's really really quick at Suzy East. I don't mind the track, it's always pretty fun and solid.

The other half of Clubman is pretty good though, tight sections that bunch the field back up. We did Nurb GP/D last season and it was great, will make an appearance next season for sure!

Drafting on long straights bunches the field together (in GT5 racing), not corners. Laguna would have been a different story if this wasn't the case.

True. Part of what I like about Clubman is the long straight lets everyone get close and then it descends into a series of slower and slower turns, culminating in the very narrow S turns. Tends to mix things up. With these cars if you lose the draft your screwed, that's for sure. I've been learning that the hard way!

I wonder how Fuji GT treats these? That's one drafting bad mama jama in a Cappy.

I think Fuji is too long, but would be fun as a non-points race. I wish there were more/better shorter tracks on the game, if I make these schedule changes we will have run at all the short tracks available in just 2 seasons. We can make all the short tracks we want with the course maker but custom tracks seem to get a luke-warm reception at best. I imagine Season 3 will consist of the best tracks from Seasons 1 and 2.

London and Madrid are both a lot of fun. Being we don't pit the London track will work well!

I like Madrid Mini. Also autumn ring mini prob work well.

Also Suzuka East is a fun track in Karts. I would think it would be equally as good with Capps.

As for Nur GP tracks. Prefer the longer GP/ F be a great track to end the season with. Longer endurance style race!!!

The only time lack of pits at London will be a problem is when people are entering the track during practice, they will appear right in the road and could impede another driver who's already hot-lapping. But since that would really only happen during practice it shouldn't really matter.

Autumn Ring Mini will probably be the season finale, I'm sure it will produce some very exciting Capp racing! Maybe Madrid Mini for next season, but I personally don't care for it and think the excessive drafting from the looooooooong straights on that track could be detrimental to the Capp's.

Based on popular opinion, I suppose Suzuka East will probably make it onto the schedule for this season, not London. I personally think it's a boring and frustrating track but I'll go with the group over my own opinion.

Nurb GP/F is just too long, I don't like when we get all strung out over a long distance and you can go for 10 laps without seeing another car. On the shorter tracks we will always be close to other cars, even if they're lapped traffic and I think that's more fun/exciting. For me, the first 4 races of this season have been incredibly boring because I've spent probably 65-75 of the 92 laps totally by myself on the track and I don't want that to become normal because the series would go stale.

Learned the other day. A car sitting on track like London and has yet clicked "drive" this car is able to ghosted through. They look like they are on track and will cause a crash. But you can pass right through them.

That should help some if you happen to be on a fast lap and a car pops in. Just drive through them. :)

Also. Madrid does have two longer straights.

Unfortunate you are not getting close races. I've had some incredible battles so far this season.

I am no opposed to doing a track in reverse if it's small enough. Even if we run it regular too.

Yep, but as soon as they hit "drive" they become solid and are not up to speed so there could be incidents. But like I said, it would only happen during practice so no big deal. Probably won't be an issue though as we're going to Suzuka instead. 👍

I had always thought the car hit the track was solid.

Seen someone drive through a car on a custom track. Was like whoa what the.

Good info to know.

Just curious but what happens if you were to park your car inside of a car that was still in the pits and then hit "drive"? Does it just stay ghosted or does some weird Timecop "same matter cannot occupy the same space" event happen? :)

It does a Wierd ejection of the car. But nothing real cool. Don't recall who, but someone and I had tried this early in the yr. Hahahaha

"Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!"- Dr. Peter Venkman

Oh man, that brings back some memories!! I haven't seen that movie in ages, might need to bust it out on Netflix soon. :)

Dr. Peter Venkman: This city is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions.
Mayor: What do you mean, "biblical"?
Dr Ray Stantz: What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor, real wrath of God type stuff.
Dr. Peter Venkman: Exactly.
Dr Ray Stantz: Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling!
Dr. Egon Spengler: Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes...
Winston Zeddemore: The dead rising from the grave!
Dr. Peter Venkman: Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!
Mayor: All right, all right! I get the point!

And my personal favorite:
"Ray, when someone asks you if you're a god, you say "YES"!" - Winston Zeddemore

Okay, this racing series looks awesome. Who do I have to bribe to get in? Cappy racing :D I hope you have a gap. Let me know, thanks.

Check with johnnypenso/yuritardid, he's also Canadian and can tell you what forms and visa's need to be filled out in order to race. I think there's a blood test and a background check required too. 👍

:D We've got enough room for a few more drivers so I'll add you to the registration list. Next race is tomorrow night (Friday) at 10pm EDT. Bring your Cappy on oot to sunny Laguna Seca!

I'll put in my 1.90 cents CDN (now worth 2 cents US because of the superior strength of our currency eh) and say I dislike all the short city circuits to begin with and with the Capps I think you'll see it turn into a parade because you won't be able to pass. The drafting ability of this car, like all cars lower in PP, is very limited, and doesn't kick in until you really build up a head of steam on a straight of several hundred metres (1 metre=1.1 yards for you Americkans). You'll get very little draft at Monaco and pretty much none at London either and will have a tough time building up a head of steam to outbrake someone and it'll turn into a divebomb instead.

And I also doubt the races will be any closer at these shorter tracks if that is what we're looking for. Skill and consistency will always win out at every track and without the advantage of the draft to pull you along, I think the cars will be even more strung out at these tracks.

I would vote for Suzuka East because while it seems simple on the face of it, the esses are very technical and will separate the men from the boys, but will also be fast enough, along with the straightaway, to allow you to keep up if you are slightly off pace by utilizing the draft. Plus it's pretty flat camber wise and will be relatively easier to tune for, for the weaker tuners like myself...lol.

And if we need one more replacement track, I'd vote for a short oval, which I think would be darn exciting. I've got one, a couple of others have posted they have one. They are short and simple to learn so no large, long learning curve. Maybe you could download the couple that have been suggested Brandon, and for the next couple of rounds of racing, have a short session on them right after the main event, and tell everyone before hand so they stick around, I think it'll go over big!!!

I'll send you a FR when I get back to my PS3. I've been looking for an excuse to thrash a Cappy online. If things work out I'll join up to the social club thing too.

Any Cappy racers around tonight around 9 EDT? I wouldn't mind testing out my tune to see how off pace I am :)

And I see johnnypenso/yuritardid is in Windsor, just down the road. Enjoying the 46C (114F for the Americkans) heat?

If your room is still there, I'll drop by. Not sure if the cappy can have them, but dirt and snow tracks might make a fun change of pace, not part of the series though. I never touch those tracks myself, as I suck, but it might be a wheeze.

That was some good practice racin' Torz...25 ft more and I would have had ya on the last one. By the way, the setup numbers I shared were strait from my Cape Ring setup, I havn't changed anything yet, was waiting to finish breaking in the Capp. (1 more HP to go)

the room is closed, but I always practice with rooms that say "beat my Cappuccino RM" or whatever car Im using, everyone is welcome to join at any time if you see one.People always seem to take it as a challenge and it helps me get faster. Mudd thanks for the tips, I never try to tinker with the gear ratios, just the final speed. Ill see everyone at the races

Johnny, my intention with the shorter tracks isn't necessarily to make the races closer but more to create lapped traffic. We have a few guys here that are fast and always will be and we have some that are destined to be mid-packers (like me. lol). But with a shorter track the leaders will catch up to the back of the pack quicker and have to fight their way through traffic. That may end up tightening things up just a tad among the front runners but mainly it means going for 10+ laps without seeing another car is less likely.

With shorter, twistier tracks it means there's more opportunity to make a mistake which makes a few more chances for overtaking. They also reward the driver who can maintain his smoothness and momentum. But ovals, well those are a whole different story! It seems I was mistaken about their popularity, I'd love to have an oval so we'll pencil one in as a new track for the second half of the season, probably round 5.

Anybody who has a custom oval track please post it to be shared and make a note here, I'll download them and see what we can can come up with. It would be easy to squeeze in a short 5-8 lap oval race after each weeknight race, 5 minutes to warm up and 5 minutes to race. We'll start that tomorrow night. Maybe after the race on Saturday we can do a couple short races at London and Autumn Ring Mini so we can get a little more info for the track discussion. And maybe I'm just over-reacting to everything because I had a few boring races, who knows? 👍

^For Cape Ring I think you were just really unlucky, that was some of the best racing I've had, but I definitely agree on Laguna.
