First two look like mercedes to me, and the back of the last reminds me of the Cien. Nice images though, well done for MS paint. đź‘Ť

Art Design Center?

Wonder if they have any of those around here. But sketching and designing is purely a hobbie for me. I seem to ace every class that consists of something 'artsy' and people seem to expect me to do it for a real job, which I 'used' to have in mind. This was when I drew every day and seemed to be freakishly good at it (I was just as good at drawing styles such as Anime/Manga when I was around 10-11 but I soon gave-up after certain circumstances)

I take it you, Sakiale, are going to persue automotve design in your professional years?

here are some pics of vehicles i drew in autocad. a race car of no particular type, a 787B, and an old mustang with a body kit i designed to look like mad max's muscle car. that one was at the request of a friend

KCV25DE

this is a 2.5 litre 8 valve, DOHC engine i am currently developing in SolidWorks.

its just for fun. i have about 25 hours into it so far. its designed for torque and will have a turbocharger attached to that shiney manifold. no lubrication or cooling systems will be included because i dont have much time to finish it. its going to be made out of plastic layed by a rapid prototyping machine. lots of pictures to come!

well, the SolidWorks server is down, so i will get some detail pics up later, but i have these oh hand to show right now. a render of the whole engine, and just the internals:

Very nice lmracer.

i don't think those links work for the big pictures, so here are the correct links.

can anyone tell me how to make links to big pictures without having to use small thumbnails?

i have uploaded a 320 pixel long pic and hyperlinked it's url with the url of the big pic. that doesnt seem to work :(

haha. we need ev0 4 drifter to pony up some explinations..

(its LMRACER) i made the mistake of using lower case lettering when i made that. its kinda hard to tell, i know. im thinking about buying premium for a little while so i can change it to Verwah permanently

Right, explination time :D the exhaust manifold goes forward and doubles back to go the right way, i guessed at what an RB26 looks like because i didnt have any pictures :) and Sakiale is correct the engine is in the front đź‘Ť its far from perfect but i like it, also the wheels are from the Vauxhall Lotus Carlton :D the car was going to have an NSX-R motor in the middle but i felt like being different

Did these a few months a go but only scanned them in yesterday. :)

Time to bring back this thread back from the dead...
fiatmultipla2.jpg

The Fiat Multipla's been around a bit, so how about a make-over? Not a wacky as the early models, but I've given it a friendly, slightly retro appearance. Front is very Grande Punto, rear-end is inspired by the likes of the 500.

vauxhallcitycar.jpg

And this car, which I've based on Vauxhall/Opel corporate styling, is a city car which doesn't stray too far into the 'cutesy' trap, though retains large headlights. Mostly full of sporty styling.

fiatferrarihatch.jpg

A rather low-slung hatchback. Perhaps a cross between the new Euro-spec Civic and Italian exotic machinery. The rear is a deliberate nod to Ferrari, thouhg perhaps look a bit Fiat Coupe.

Again, all done in MS Paint, bit of touching-up in Paint Shop Pro.

EDIT I really need some marker paper, don't I? These are all done on 8.5x11" copy paper.

Except the first one , which IS done on marker paper.

LMRacer--that makes more sense ;)

Try drawing from a more human-height perspective. It's hard to judge what the design looks like from looking at the top because we hardly ever see cars from that view.

You don't need marker paper right away either. Again, you should be focusing more on what your lines look like rather than your markers bleeding or not.

For instance, the lines that go towards the vanishing point that go through your axles should cut your wheel into two perfect halves (2 semi-circles).

That sentence makes sense, read it carefully, as it will help with your perspective a lot.

PS - I got accepted into design school last week. I might post some car sketches, for shiggles.

Uhm just a quick glance, there's some problems with your symetry, such as the hood vents on the last one and the whole back end on the third to last. Right near the start of the sketch, draw in a centre line along the surface of the car so you can add in more concrete details in the right places on both sides.

Also what I said in bold earlier. It's important.

Great sketches all, especially some of yours exigeracer đź‘Ť

I drew these two cars (Vanquish S, and a Nissan Murano) directly from my computer screen last year for school. The picture was taken near the end of completion, so I did manage to darken some spots, and add in necessary shadows before I actually finished.

The Nissan does look very strange in some areas... unfortunately I did need to hurry towards the end to make the deadline (No sleep and strong coffee helped me along the way :) ).

Reaally... Now I see it. Also my teacher pointed out some other problems...

Apparently I have natural talent and good ideas. So I'ma keep following your advice, taking classes, and reading Popular Science

Nice sketches, jacoca.

Quick sketch, gonna add details and I'll try some rendering when I have the time. And it's really messy.

Some more drawings. The first two were an original prototype I came up with By Buick called the La Sarthe. the other two are my redone version of the Ford GT-R. I'm gonna post the first of my new improved Viper GTS-R Pics when I'm finished.

Nice, guys. Joey, practice more drawing lines and circles. My teacher at art centre said to do this every day. just draw 2 points on the paper, and then in one smooth motion draw a line connecting them. If you can do this 5 times in the same 2 points and make it look like one line, you're getting there. Use your shoulder and elbow to draw, not your wrist. also, try to draw the circles in one motion. however, not too fast that they are messy. Also, work on your perspective. Right now, it doesnt' look too bad, but you should ALWAYS draw a construction to get the perspective right. THat's all I can help you with.
