No, just make the front and rear overhangs closer to the wheels, or make the wheels farther out, and not necessarily bigger wheels, but rounder.. they're a bit lopsided.. also make the pencil strokes smoother.

I have tried again yesterday, I think it is better and my parents think so as well. Just out of intrest what is the best way of getting it onto the computer, as scanning it loses some of the more finer details such as pencil strokes, etc. As soon as that is answered I will post it. I spent 4 hours on it yesterday so I hope it pleases....

Scanning it is the best way. Then use any photo editing software to balance out the contrast and brightness to a level that best-portrays the original drawing.

Spot on, man!

I have never really used coloured pencils for a full-colour rendering, so I can't really help you out with your drawings in that sense, but it looks pretty damn good. I stick with markers for rendering and sometimes coloured pencils for sketching.

You're doing great though. Did you grid that one as well?

Lets just say it looks better on paper...The shading has..ermm..almost dissapeared.....It looked way better on paper. But atleast I got the wheels round...I think. Oh and that little weedy thing in the corner is supposed to be my signature which isn't quite a signature yet :ill: Oh ans sorry thhe front end is faded my scanner did that...

Wheels have gotten round, which is good, but the arches around them have to be round as well. Also fill in the dark areas, behind the wheels, wheel arces, undershadow, taillights and the vents up front should all be darker. Overall very improved over the last try. Good job.

Yeah I noticed the wheel arches weren't round as I posted it. Which places are the wheel arces? Also there was a undersahdow its just my scanner got rid of it...you can just see it under the rear wheel. So once you tell me what on eary a wheel arces is I will try and change it. Thanks for your comment though, I really, really do appreciate it.

Thanks :)

Yup, used grids. The basic lines took me about 1 hour, colours around 2 1/2 hours.

The body of the car around the wheel. Look at the back wheel, the arch is touching the tires on the sides, but there is a significant gap above the tire. There has to be an equal space all around the wheel.

This is where drawing some cars from a magazine helps. You will familiarize yourslef with the proportions and shapes of real cars, so when you want to go off creating your own lines, you'll have greater of an idea of what it should look like.

New one!

Lamborghini Murcielago LP640.

I messed up the front wheel (a little too big) and also decided against detailing the glass engine cover... >.>; Also I need to start learning how to get the shading nice and smooth... and use different brushes as well. Learned a few things from this though!

Bump. Sorry for the double post... but here's something new. I bought a set of pencils recently and drew this.

Pagani Zonda S Roadster.

I can't believe I overlooked the front wheel... didn't notice it till I finished the whole thing. :(

Damn! How come everyone's suddenly so much better than me?! Amazing work, guys 👍

I'm working on a 300Sl and Miura redesign now...

Here's my other Viper GTS-R Picture.

under18carbon, Nice work:tup:

exigeracer, are there any areas I really need improvement on?

Racecar, everything looks pretty good. Some really minor things are a bit off though.

The cross-grille in the front looks as if it rises to the left, which shouldn't be happening in a two-point perspective drawing (level to the ground).

That tiny little roof scoop looks rather pointless, as well. I don't know if you added that or if it's original, but either way it looks to be too small to be anything but a distraction.

Your headlight shape is close enough to make the car recognizable as a Viper, but it isn't spot-on perfect to the original.

More iportantly, moving on to shading and reflections. Some areas should be a lot darker. Take a look at your reference photo and look how dark the tires are compared to the wheel well behind them. They're almost the same darkness, but with a soft reflection along the top edge of the tire, correct? Make your drawing like that as well. Same thing with the inside edges of the grille. It's good you acknowledged the fact that downward-facing parts of the grille's edge are darker, but they need to be even darker. Same thing with the fog-light housing. Again, look at your reference picture.

Overall pretty good. Hope this helps.

Yes, definitely shading. I think it also looks a bit short.. ? And the spoiler looks like it's not there, that can probably be fixed by shading. I've done my 300sl pictures, but the perspective is pretty off on a few parts, so I'll try and redo them.

I do notice that now. I'm gonna fix that.

I kinda tried pay homage to the orginal Viper GTS-R by adding that as you can see here:

I'll widen it though.

alright. I've never been able to get my tires to look like that. I'll try that, but I hope it doesn't ruin my picture.

It has and I thank you for doing so 👍

looks isck, i weont bother updating my recent work :indiff: but I am looking for a pencil as we speak, I gotta brush up on my skills... under18, how do you start your drawings, Racecar says he draws the outside blob first, and while that speeds up the process, it didnt work for me last time, is that how you do it too?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by outside blob, but I'll explain how I start my drawings.

I use a grid system to draw. First I print out the image that I want on an A4 paper, and then I place a tracing paper with 1 inch x 1 inch grids above the printed image. Then I re-draw the grids on A3 paper (same size), and draw the lines of the car freehand. Once I'm done with the lineart, I erase the grid, and smoothen the curves using a french curve set and start shading.

Here's a pic of the Murcielago with the grids still on (please excuse the poor quality) :

Swwwwweet!

The only thing though is that one of the spokes on the fromt rim is a little bit wrong, or so it appears. But I can't do them at all, those 5 star Ferrari rims are a PITA, and you did a wonderful job on them! 👍
