drawing LeMans? I used to do that every day during lunch, a new cartoonish LM on lined paper..

exigeracer, those are some nice drawins you got, talk about "cartooning", lol..

however, that last one, that looks like a Tesla.. one of those rims is in the wrong perspective, but I think the rear rim should have an ellipse with a smaller ratio so it'd be a more narrow ellipse

-> I got another one, but its nothing special.

in that 2nd, don't shade in the road at this helps the car blend in with it. That's not a good thing btw..

^ It was just my quick draw (made it in just 3-6 min). That 'shading' effect is my way trying to emphazize the road texture 'in a quickie way' on a night setting just like Initial D/Wangan Midnight. :)

Been practicing every car category to try to stray away from my typical sportscar shapes. Found some interesting things that I will definitely explore. I've got a couple favorites in this batch, but I'll post them all as one file just to simplify things. I definitely need to work on producing upright cars like SUVs and hatchbacks. I don't have very much practice with those at all so they're the obviously worse ones. For now I'm just going on the general proportions of the vehicle, I will try to push things a little more creatively later on when I have more confidence with the right shapes.

I see no one has taken interest in designing a DP. I'll show you guys my work-in-progress so far:

Took some inspiration from the Recently reshaped Rileys for the Rear Wheel well. Still trying to nail down the side pod shape as I've been having a bit of a struggle to get it just right. It does have a name though: The Ryden

It's been a while since I kept to date on this thread.

1 Hour roughly, Alias Sketchbook, Environmently Friendly Stingray, inspired by Maserati Birdcage, and my first Photoshop render, which was too inspired by Birdcage, as well, Mclaren Manta

Where do you go to school in Toronto? I'm thinking of a certain school and a certain second year program that requires a certain laptop program.

I could be wrong though.

im not in an Art school yet, im still in high school, and my school isn't a laptop-requiring place either, my school is pretty crappy.. but not the crappiest.

i find Sketchbook gives me the clean white canvas i look for in a design drawing, and there are some tools it has that i dont have IRL, like an Airbrush or Eraseable Pen Ink. lol

I think I may be a purist, but paper is white enough, chalk pastel and blending ink is easy, and mistakes aren't bad when using ink. Or I'm just poor.

Very nicely done 👍!

no your wrong, IM poor, lol i dont have chalk, i only have very vague prismacolors, a Pilot Drawing Pen, Stadelar Pigmet Liner and cheap BIC Pens.

Know of any pens that don't smudge the tip of my prismacolor markers? Cuz when I do the pen work and appply some marker, esp. French Grey 20%, the ink becomes smudged even though its dry and it gets the nib all messy leaving this unwanted stain on it

Pigma Micron pens go good with Prisma markers and don't smudge by. Or you could just use a black Prisma marker.

Keep using the ballpoint pens. You'd be surprised how many pro designers use them full time. They're very versatile tools!

And if you want to buy supplies, go down to Aboveground on Mcaul street (under OCAD), today they've got a 20% off everything deal going. They close at 7:30PM tonight I think. If you're in town tomorrow, Curry's on Dundas also has a 25% event to all OCAD students. I'm sure you could swindle the deal with some good talking.

PS I like the white on black look.

i havnt drawn for years but heres one iv been doodling recently
allegroje3.jpg

can ya guess what it is yet :dopey: unfinished at mo il do more later
Thats quite detailed for a doodle. I wanna say its a BMW, but I also think its probably a Lancia.

its of my own design kinda lol, thinking on the lines of what if austin had entered one of their larger cars for group B instead of the metro...like the allegro! :dopey: it borrowed a lot of cues from the 6R4 tho with a bit more space to work with :D

I’m trying out under18carbon’s ‘grid’ method for my new drawing… and it’s working out quite well, so thanks for sharing that with us 👍
I sketched the outline about a month ago and only just started rendering the body, now that I finally found the time to do it. So, yes… It’s going to be another Vanquish, but this time I’m aiming for something a little more detailed then the previous. I’ll post again once I’ve finished (hopefully this long weekend!).
