@Minicooper120: Thanks buddy đź‘Ť Will do.

@Cano: Thanks a lot for the comments and the advice. I’m following your suggestion of drawing a non-preference car, and using reflections to finish it off. I drew this little sketch of some sort of BMW/Toyota/Mazda concept car, while I was sitting in my car the other day. I might plan on creating a full size picture of it, but I’m not sure how or what reflections should be applied. I would like to make it look a little realistic…

The drawings in your last post are just epic! I especially love the first drawing of the Sniper. You seem like the perfect concept artist… fantastic work. Good use of colours too. I’ve always been rubbish at using colour in my work, so I now try to avoid them at all costs  . Can’t wait to see more from you.

Jacoja, just pick a light source then stick to the car's forms and try to do pencil strikes that conform to those forms, chose a horizon line then part from there to make your gradients, its not that hard.

Trico Pro, I saw your DA, its good, you just need to radicalize your cartoons a lot more, those I posteed aren't as radical as the ones I usually do, because they are for the mag.

I'll post some ballpen sketches soon, I got my HDD already (:

Radicalize?

I didn't post any good cartoon cars on DA.. because I removed myself from the cartoon car trend.

But now i just might want to jump back in.

well does it look as good as his HAND DRAWN ones?

This is all i pumped out with coloured pencils

i really like the Rx-8 one as thos chrome rims are simulated very accurately for hand drawn. That's easy stuff on computer , its easy by hand too by doing it correctly isn't as easy as i thought.

However though, i HAVE drawn a toon Hot rod in class today, i will refine on a larger piece of paper maybe on my field trip to canada's wonderland this friday.

I did a cartoon Corolla ricer today, but it ended up looking more like a Camry... lol, and even when I tried to rice it I think it looks pretty stylish XD

hahaha, I cant chrome on computer, when I did last year's poster in january I took the step and coloured them in photoshop, but when I tried to chrome it was impossible, I ended up inking and chroming with a ballpen.

I liked the cartoons, specially the one that's kinda drifting.

Wow, here comes Cano out of nowhere. Good to have you back, even if only for a short while. đź‘Ť That drawing of Sniper is awesome. You wouldn't happen to have drawn Troy's Chicayne would you?

Out of nowhere indeed (: and no, I like Sniper a lot more han Chicayne, in fact I think the Biz is quite ugly (yeah, the engine) and doesnt have as much bodywork (mainly because the Chevy isn't ugly in stock form as is the Plymouth), what I love about the Sniper is the bodywork and how low it sits, it doesnt look like a plymouth at all, its soooo modern even if its ten years this year.

I actually learned to render better by hand from rendering on computer first.

How's this for a Render?

Click on it!!!!!

Did do a contrast edit on PS before uploading but nevertheless i'm happy with it. Only thing i think i did a crap job of was making flat tires

Avoid having the background piece sitting so close to the edge of the car as it creates a point of tension and isn't as effective at pushing the actual subject forwards.

I would move it over so the right side of it would be over above the mirror instead of right along the right edge of the car. You could try to Photoshop it over, but it isn't very large so it might look odd...

i uploaded on deviant art as well.

Am beginning some kind of a personal event. Every Tuesday i'll make a cartoon of a car, requests and suggestions are welcome.

i call it CARToony Toosdays haha, how unoriginal

A 4th generation Toyota Celica (the one in my profile to be exact :sly:) ! Just think... you could open one pop-up light, and close the other... as if the car is winking ;).

You're very good at the cartoon sketches, btw.

haha, the winking idea is pretty neat, but what makes the celica stand out from generally all other cars? Tha makes the cartoons better, for example, i could draw a muscle car and I want to exaggerate its torque so i would probably make the engine Gigantic and obscenely tall or make it really smoke the tarmac and do a bent wheelie with Extra Thick and Wide Slicks

We'll see though, I may not be able to process everyone's request usually depending on how great of an idea i can (or you can) come up with that goes exclusively with the car.

cookie cutter crap

Example Please...

edit: out of the 3 suggested cars: Supra, C6, and Celica i only like the supra because the C6 ad the celica IMHO looks damn ugly, and i don't like drawing ugly cars.. a castrol supra i'm not really liking the idea either,

but i'll continue to take other suggestions

EDIT:Been googling random cars that come to mind for next Toosdays Car of the Week (COTW)..

I'm been sketching:
-Acura RSX
-Nissan 350Z
-TVR Speed Twelve (leaning most to this)
-some Sick Fireblade concept design (Front 3/4) (side) (rear 3/4) (Front)
-Audi R8
-Acura Advanced Sports Coupe
-Ford GT40
-Toyota GT-ONE
