Racing today! Lounge will be open around 2:30pm EST and racing will begin around 3:00. Hope to see a good crowd! 👍

Looking forward to Laguna Seca tonight, will have to get a few practice laps in beforehand. Made a couple of mistakes last time, wanna try & avoid that as much as possible this time around. See y'all out on track tonight! :D

Some people think I am working too, but I am actually just playing Zelda on my cellular phone right now.

Good luck and have fun today folks!

Racing today!..... Hope to see a good crowd! 👍

Sorry guys.. Can't make it today.
I have got a severe crick in my neck and shoulders.. Don't think I will be able to raise my arms high enough for the wheel, or even just get down in my race-seat :scared:

That doesn't sound good - Can you persuade your wife to massage the ache away? :)

^I thought it was Suzuka East today...
Anyway, I'm out today. Working :(

Yes, we're at Suzuka East this week, Laguna next week. Sorry for any confusion. I'll have the lounge open in about a half hour.

I just got it mixed up in my own head, thought it was Laguna yesterday, DOH! Might see you next Saturday then, hope you had fun last night.

^ Sorry for any confusion. I've added dates to the Monthly Schedule in the OP to avoid any future problems. 👍 Small crowd Saturday but we still had fun, easily the best racing I've had at Suzuka East. We'll head to sunny California tomorrow evening!

Sundays will be hit and miss for me. We had a get together yesterday. Got Easter in a week or so. Then one a week after that. By then temps outside will be warming and the GF and I really enjoy walking the young dogs. Her two are too old for walks. My old dog(father of her oldest) is to old. So it's refreshing for her to get to walk dogs. Plus we're planning to catch a few shows with these dogs over summer. So getting them in shape will be a bit time consuming.

But Tuesdays are for sure. Saturdays in two weeks will be hot and miss as well.

Edit Tuesdays

Sorry, I meant to refer to Saturday's crowd, not yesterday. Our normal days are Tuesday and Saturday. 👍

A buddy of mine convinced me to sign up for a Fantasy F1 league, I've never done one before but figured I'd give it a go. It allows us to create a "mini-league" where we can just compete amongst ourselves. If any of you would like to join and compete you can sign up here: http://fantasyracing.hiltonhhonors.com/default.aspx. The mini-league I created is called "StigsHeros" and the password is "Race4Life". NCemtB has joined, would be cool to compete against some other fellow racers. 👍

It's probably gonna be a while before I'm able to race on a weeknights again. So I'm gonna be Saturday only for now, and a hit-n-miss at that as well. This coming Saturday looks likely, but not a sure thing.

I have some constructive criticism.

The reason I left last Saturday was because I was blocked during qually. Someone had left their car on pause on the track while chatting, & this resulted in a ruined lap for me. It's a pet hate of mine! Also, the first Saturday I raced at Indy Road saw me get blocked too. A slower driver had fallen back to me after an incident, & instead of just letting me by, he proceeded to draft & overtake me ruining my next hot lap.

I always try to find clean air when qualifying, & if I make a mistake & fall back, I'll always let the other guy through & then find some more clean air. After all, it's just common decency & manners.

I don't know what you guys think about it, I just felt something needed to be said, & maybe a simple rule implemented. How do you feel?

Sorry you experienced a couple bad moments. I firmly believe we have one of the cleanest and most respectful groups on GTP but we all have momentary lapses in judgement from time to time. I believe the person typing while on track was probably me, it's not something I normally do but needed to address something promptly and at the time didn't see anyone around me so I thought I was safe. Apparently not, my apologies.

We are all still getting used to this new laid back format. When we did points racing I had a very structured schedule with clear written instructions during every session and one of the things I always mentioned was to give people room and do not draft/block during qualifying. With this new format we don't really have a qualifying session per say, we just start up a couple short warm up races and the results from those races end up setting the grid for the longer races. The objective of the warm up races is to give everyone a chance to get accustomed to the car when in traffic and to get any anxiousness out of our system. But because there isn't an "official" qualifying session it might lead us to be a little more relaxed than we should be. I suppose I can make an announcement that the 10 minutes before racing begins is considered qualifying and maybe that will remind me/us to be on our manners during that time.

It wasn't you who blocked me & I'm not gonna name names as there's no point, I don't hold grudges over things like this. I understand the casual nature of this club, the trick is finding the balance between that & etiquette, I hope the 10 minute reminder will work.

That said, I'm still really looking forward to Saturday. :D

It might take some getting used to a little more laid back approach to racing here. While the on track competition is as fierce as ever and everyone is as clean as they can be, given their equipment and skill limitations, but we also aren't keeping track of results, no qualifying except for the first race and we're leaning a little more towards fun and a little less towards dead serious racing. Doesn't mean we should all put our cars in cruise control and run around the track but it might mean it happens once in a while and it's not a big deal, if you know what I mean:) The only race you qualify for is the first one anyway and it's just a warm up to the main, to sort out running in traffic and such.

Think I must be the one involved in the 'Indy Road' incident.. :guilty:

I just want to apologise, and to reassure you that I had no intention of ruining a quali-round of yours, if I had known this was your intention. From my perspective, most of us was just running warm-up laps, to get into the "race-mood"...

However, I do believe that after I had run off and re-entered the track, I did waited for you to pass, and let you get some space... Not MUCH space, I admit, but a couple of seconds, just to be sure I wouldn't interfere with you... So I reckon I also got surprised how easy I got back up to you, and hence got the feeling that you might wanted to do a bit of 'close driving' for the fun.

But... My mistake... Clearly! :ouch:
I will try to be more considered if a similar situation should occur again 👍

I should expect to be there this evening. So, if there's any funny business; it's probably me.

Edit: I'll be in the lounge for the next 45 minutes or so.(Beginning 2:50EDT)

I have some constructive criticism......

As you can see we are at least quick to take the blame for any incidents and equally quick to apologize. Incidents will happen on track, it's how we react to them that I think makes us a "gentleman's group". Just a simple, friendly discussion here usually sorts any issues we may have. Hopefully that counts for something. 👍

I'll need some extra warm-up time tonight, I was driving fwd cars on SM around Laguna Seca last night and I have a feeling it's going to take me a while to adjust back to FR on CS. I was on fire though, so if I get it dialed in......watch out!! :dopey:

Haha, that pass had nothing to do with my wheel, I ran that corner perfectly, you just held a perfect line all the way around the outside:tup:👍 You took advantage of the small edge your car had in that corner with a perfectly executed pass..well done:)

Count me in for this :D
Raced with VBR and he mentioned this Series//Club and I fit in Drivingwise.
But I can´t make it during the week, bit too late :D

PSN: Sakery
Maybe I send you the FR?? If you are not faster than me ;)

It was just a misunderstanding then, I thought we were doing a serious qualifying session. Not to worry.

It does. Live & learn as the saying goes. :D
