Count me in for this :D
Raced with VBR and he mentioned this Series//Club and I fit in Drivingwise.
But I can´t make it during the week, bit too late :D

PSN: Sakery
Maybe I send you the FR?? If you are not faster than me ;)

Welcome Sakery, we look forward to racing with you. Send a FR to "ORCA_Champ" and you'll be able to join our private lounge for some racing. If you don't know how the private lounge system works send me a PM and I'll explain it.

And no worries, I won't be faster than you but there are a few here that likely will be. :nervous:

VBR
It was just a misunderstanding then, I thought we were doing a serious qualifying session. Not to worry.

Live & learn as the saying goes. :D

Sorry if I caused any confusion, I'm still working out some of the details on how this format will work. I always encourage honest feedback so I can make any necessary adjustments to ensure everyone enjoys themselves. We do take things seriously here but not so seriously that we forget to have a few laughs and a good time, but we try to hold our racecraft to the highest standard. 👍

I won't be on before 10pm est. 👎 :grumpy:

Darn. :( Looking forward to racing with you again, hope to see you soon.

The lounge will be open in about 30-45 minutes for some practice. "Qualifying" for the first warm up race will begin at 8pm EST and we'll start racing around 8:10. This is open to all GTP members, if you want to join send a FR to ORCA_Champ. I've figured out how to accept FR's on the ORCA account while I'm racing under my main account so you can send the request at any time.

I'm still trying to catch up to the daylight savings switch, it's really messed up my timing this week. I'll try to get on as soon as I can, but I'm definatley running behind tonight.

So what's this tire bug about? I don't like it, my car felt like it was driving on the rims. Is this the same bug from way back?

Iforce is very versed in the tire bug. He has done testing and can explain it best.

There's a tire bug? I don't think I noticed anything unusual...where can we find info on this?

Which one? The one where you seem to need extra car length on your braking points, or the one where you can't corner at a normal speed and everyone is passing you like you're just standing?

I had both happening during the races last night, at the same time. I was doing laps around 1:46-:47 during practice but once we started racing it felt like I was on CH tires and I was doing 1:49-1:50 lap times, even with a draft. It felt like my brakes didn't work at all and I was having to brake much sooner than normal. In the last race at Laguna JP got into first place and I settled into second on the first lap, I was losing over a full second per sector on him over every lap. I know JP is faster than me but I don't think he's 5-6 seconds per lap faster than me. Also my tires stayed a dark shade of blue during all 8 laps, they would warm up a little in a turn but would cool back down to a dark blue on the straights. It was not very fun, especially at an understeering track like Laguna. 👎

There was a bug a while back that when you changed track the tyres would stay blue & not warm up, but I thought they'd fixed it. Back then the way to get around it was to change track & then change back again to reset it. So if you want Laguna, load it up then load another track up, & then load Laguna again. That usually got rid of it, try that on Saturday & see if it works.

I got it several times in my own lobby, but never encountered it in an online race thankfully. Sorry to hear your racing was ruined last night. :(

^ Owens said that you actually want the room to load to the desired track (change the lounge setting so the default track is Laguna Seca) and then don't change it. I always thought you had to reload the track once you entered the room or the tires wouldn't warm up, basically as you just suggested, but I guess something has changed.

Maybe it's a different bug then. All I know is back when I used to run my SSCS event we'd race 4 different tracks during the night, so I'd load every track twice, & never once got the bug after doing that.

👍

I usually just reload once at the beginning of the night but not for every track, and we've never had problems. At least not since there was the massive bug debacle about a year ago where it was happening all the time to everyone and you couldn't have more than 8-10 people race at a time.

That was one of the times I hit you Brandon. Car didn't want to slow down... I tried avoiding it, but the car only slowed down when I took you out a bit. I was doing 1:50/1:51's.... so I guess I wasn't too far off from you. Not my favorite track but I'll blame it on the tire issue. Overall it was fun. Enjoyed the oval at Motegi!

....and the very next race I had the same thing happen to me in turn 1/lap 1, I hit the brakes early trying to be cautious and just plowed through the cars in front of me like I hadn't even touched the brakes. Apologies to anyone I may have injured or killed. :guilty:

We did fix the bug by setting my "Top Secret Facility" to the current track so no track changes happen. Once we enter with track on the right one. The tire big never shows up.

About all I know. It does happen and this method does prevent it.

There's always something with GT5:crazy: No wonder it was so easy to pull away in that last race at Laguna:sly: Although my times were spot on all night and my tires certainly warmed up. Definitely have to get a handle on this one, for DeadNuts too. :yuck:

Here are the tracks I have found the bug.
Laguna
LaSarthe (all versions)
Nurburgring (all Nord and GP versions)
Motegi (all road versions,oval ok)
Spa
Suzuka east
Indy oval (slight affect)
Tsukuba
Autumn ring (all incl.mini)
Grand Valley +rev
Grand Valley east +rev
Trial mtn + rev
High speed ring (all)
Madrid mini +rev
clubman stage 5 +rev
SSR7

If you schedule has a round at one of these tracks make sure the lounge is preset to the track and dont change it.

^ Those there, are alot of tracks....

Brandon, time to create an official "ORCA" road coarse.

I'm quite handy with the track creator, but custom tracks only play on the center screen of a triple-monitor setup and I just don't feel like that would be fair to you guys. :dopey:

Went for a drive on Laguna last night in My Lounge, & guess what? Yep that's right, got the cold tyre bug! With that I barely managed a 1'46.9XX After burning off a quarter of a tank of fuel, most laps were in the 1'47's. Then I reloaded the track & my first lap was a 1'47.1XX, & all the rest were in the mid to low 1'46's, the best being 1'46.3XX.

To get rid of the cold tyre bug, you definately have to reload the track. Not sure whether this would work on the braking bug you had, but it's worth a shot.

👍

I think the braking bug is connected to the tire issue, you can't stop as well on cold tires. Although, it does seem like aero push is exaggerated when the tire bug is in play which is likely what led to a couple of us feeling like we had no brakes going into turn 1.

So we have one viewpoint that we should preset the Lounge to the racing track to fix the bug and the opposite viewpoint that you have to change the track to the target track to fix the bug...lol. I guess that means we set it to Laguna to begin with and if the bug shows up, we change it back and forth back to Laguna and see what happens. We had quite a bit of warmup/practice on Tuesday. Did anyone notice anything before we actually started racing? I know I didn't. Is this just a "racing" bug?

I think it used to be the latter but is now the former. You know how PD likes to shake things up!. :indiff: I can safely say that everything was fine in practice because it wasn't until we started racing that things felt weird and I suddenly lost 2-3 seconds per lap. I believe I even commented on the first lap of the first race that things suddenly felt different and I had no grip. Owens confirmed he was experiencing the same thing. For the rest of the night everything felt wrong.

I will try presetting the lounge to Laguna, we'll see if that makes any difference for Saturday. Apparently this is the circuit where the bug is most likely to happen, so we'll probably be staying away from Monterey for a while.

The only way to get rid of the bug is to open a new room.Resetting the room causes the bug and wont fix it once it is bugged.IF there is a fix for the bug by using some combo of room rules changes that I havent found yet I would love to hear about it.

Some people will claim that the bug is nothing but an illusion and it doesnt affect lap times and they might be right. There could be an issue with the bug and room connections that it can screw up one person and others see no difference in grip levels.I know that I have noticed the difference and thats all the confirmation I want/need to see.

The simple cure is to preset the room to the track you want to race on and DONT touch the track change menu.

Thanks:tup:👍 As I said, I never experienced the bug at all at Laguna, so it must be hit and miss for some and not others. Hopefully this works:scared:

I knew somebody would take it that way! :ouch: I grew up playing that game, put hundreds of dollars in quarters into Cruis'n USA and Cruis'n World back in the day. And that has directly evolved into what we're doing here, so I thought it was kinda neat to see and think about what kind of racing game that kid will be playing in 10 years (probably GT6). :sly:
