The Isuzu 4200R has no rear parking lights but it uses the brake lights instead.

Not sure if this has been posted, but the '08 Fiat 500 has a working clock in the interior.

Same with the Nissan 350Z, being digital you know what time it is on track and you can see how much time left on these long hour enduros with time change.

The Stig got tired of the crappy music he got from Jeremy and threw the stereo out the window. :dopey: at lease he saves weight.
 
All cars have wheelspin, even if you drive away very slowly.

My guess is they're using a Pacejka-like tyre model, which relies on slip ratios. This is the difference in tyre (contact patch, relative to the ground) speed vs. car speed, divided by car speed:

(vt - vc)/vc

So, when the car's speed (vc) approaches zero, well...
That means they have to hack in a low-speed model that doesn't crap itself at near-zero speeds.

You can see when the physics switch over from the slippy hack to the proper model, because the car suddenly stops sliding (you can sometimes feel it through the wheel, too). As someone else mentioned, the reason it slips so much might be because the driveline and clutch physics are broken. Or maybe they're broken to accommodate this hack.

That's not peculiar to any one car, I know. Nor is it especially unusual of sims that rely on Pacejka-like models (most of 'em). It does result in bizarre behaviour at the extremes, though, like in the little Honda S cars.
 
The vw samba bus can be jacked way up at the back at least on the fully custom suspension. Couple that with a low front and you have yourself a great little hotrod although i've only got my modded one up to 128mph under it's own power (206mph with a push from an x2010)

No pics but give it a try. Get lots of lookers checking you out online.

Are there any other cars in the game that allow this?
 
the RX7's actually start up and have a properly working engine. Not even IRL do people have functioning RX7s, way to go on the realism PD

I have a functioning 1989 RX-7... You're trippin'. :crazy:

On topic (and speaking of RX-7's): The RX-7 Spirit R has adjustable rear downforce. I thought that was a little odd for a street car.
 
Add the Taurus SHO to the list of cars with invisible GT Auto spoiler upgrades.

Also, I read back a page and I found it quite amusing when I saw who was using obsure lingo to sound cool. I'll leave you to guess why.

They probably modelled an example which had been nicked the night before ;), it's odd though.
Another interesting little fact (although perhaps not really unusual) is that the Esprit shares its doormirrors with the McLaren F1 (the eighties facelift of the Esprit and the styling of the F1 were both performed by Peter Stevens)
So PD only had to model these doormirrors once, and guess where these mirrors came from?
Another exotic? Custom made and designed by Stevens? Nope, they came from the facelifted eighties Citroën CX which Stevens clearly appreciated (at least those mirrors).

If you start from rest in a Ferrari F2007 or F10, you can make a bit of music if you start in 7th gear and work your way up and down through the gears repeatedly if you do it quickly as you accelerate.

Stealth cars can have their engines and bodies restored in GT Auto for just 1,000 Cr.

The center of the steering wheel on the Citroen C4 doesn't rotate with the wheel itself. It stays upright whilst the wheel rotates behind it.

It's unusual if you leave the spoilers stock. The Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 (Premium) can have a downforce up to "8" with the stock wing too.


The RuF CTR "Yellowbird" is one of only a few cars in the game having a real license plate, it uses the license plate of a real RuF press car: MN-P 911

On a slightly different note, the stage 2 turbo on the Dodge SRT4 yealds more power than the stage 3. Fully tuned, the stage 3 will give 608bhp, the stage 2 gets you 613bhp!
I know this isn't the only car this happens with, I think the SL65 has the same thing, with stage 2 getting the magical 1000bhp figure, and around 980bhp for stage 3.

The Yellowhat Supra has a working digital fuel gauge, shown just below previous lap readout on the steering wheel.
 
Apparently, the GSX-R/4 comes with different color steering wheels, and if you paint the car, the steering wheel changes color.

And yet, when you go in interior/cockpit view with the GSX-R/4, its wheel ALWAYS stays in a white colour., any other view its the colour you painted the car, but in that view it seems to defy logic :lol:

I noticed something on the '09 Corvette ZR1 speedometer. As an American car, you may expect the speedo to read in MPH, but it actually reads in KM/H. Weird.
 
Been borrowing mates ferrari f1 cars to finally get their seasonals done, and I noticed something with both if them: the displays and shift lights don't work at all outside of the cockpit view.

I always thought that this was a very unique idea from citroen. It brings to life the reputation of the manufacturer of implementing really odd features into their cars. The C4 is actually the first "fun" and interesting car that Citroen has made in ages.

The C4 was the first car I drove in in real life as my father had one. Very good car and the middle of the steering wheel indeed didn't turn. The steering was so easy on that car. You could easily turn it with one finger. Don't forget the see through digital speedometer which is also unique to that car I think.
 
Something I just noticed recently: in the Bugatti Veyron, when you reach a certain speed, the spoiler lifts but what I noticed is that the front of the car also lowers a bit to help aero. It's a very nice detail!
 
The plymouth prowler can turn its front wheels so far that it goes into the suspension, makes for ugly drift pictures too. (might be true for the fireblade as well.)

And the tank car has a solid axle suspension front and back and you can clearly see each side moving independently of the other as if to shear the axles in half.
