Cars with unusual traits

During replays, the Ferrari F430 lacks the 2 3rd person internal views.

Also, the Ferrari P4 has a spare tire in the back. Pretty odd for a race car I guess.

Odd, I agree, but if you think of the racing it was involved in (endurance racing) then a spare wheel could've been a real advantage on long tracks like le Mans or the nurburgring (did they use the nurburgring in the p4?).
But that's really cool! But that's probably why...

Pretty sure they were there only because of regulations. I know the Lola T70 has one as well, It's from a couple years after.

It was probably mostly for the Targa Florio. They wouldn't really have needed to carry a spare at LeMans and the like, it's not that far to limp back to the pits on a flattie, but it was probably still mandated. At the Targa, it could be miles on unforgiving roads until the next service area - it probably did come in handy at the Nürburgring, too. Here's a full lap of the shortest circuit they ran (44 miles), in GPL. Here's a list of the races in the '67 season of the World Sportscar Championship.

Flipped the Mine's Skyline. Just like the Nissan Skyline GT-R V spec II Nur, this one says "Thanks for finding this!" underneath.

Apologies in advance in case if you can't see the picture; no idea how to fix that...

P.S. Yay! Post #250! :P

Just as some cars in le mans had to have space for luggage? Odd, indeed. But makes sense for long races without service areas nearby.

Apparantly there were certain (Le Mans) regulations at that time with the aim to link the sportcars with regular roadgoing cars, so things like another seat and a spare wheel were required, they loosened up those rules a few years later.
Keep in mind that it probably wasn't as easy to drive a car with a flat tyre around La Sarthe as it is nowadays with the extremely rigid chassis and superior suspensions/tyres they now use, and maybe a driver was allowed to change it himself.
When they entered the P4 in some Can-Am races (for example the famous Daytona win) the wheel was removed amongst other changes.

Well that just makes a whole lot if sense. I find it intriguing that the Gran Turismo team modelled it with the spare wheel (and presumably all other data) when it was often not even there.

It mostly is there though, I've coincidentally got a 1/43 scale model of the P4 since I was a kid and it also has the spare wheel in the rear compartment.

I still think it odd... they could've easily got away with rendering it without the wheel and dropping the mass by what, five kilos?

The Dome Zero, in the game, has graphics like a cartoon character, as a model of it wasn't made in real life.

Was there not? I SWEAR I saw it in a movie... one movie, for all of two minutes, but it was in a live action scene with actors beside the car. I'm sorry, I've no idea what movie, but it was futuristic, obviously, and eighties, and contained some guy dealing with humanoid computers and the ethics of that... I think. It might not have been, I must've been about twelve, because it was quite soon after I got the Dome car on GT4

Just out of interest, why did PD put that message there under those two skylines?

You can paint the premium '96 elise stock rims when race modded, not sure if you can non race mod though. Its looks good with the chrome orange metalic paint from the dealer and stock black rims with the race mod.

If I'm not mistaken, more RMs let you paint their "stock" wheels.

I don't know if this is actually unusual, but the interior of the Mercedes 300SL Changes colour scheme if you re paint the car...
I bought the red, because I wanted the red centre console, but I repainted it the exact Mercedes paint chip that gives it the slightly over the top red interior.
My car now is Weißgrau with the Weißgrau interior but RED wheel hubs!!!

EDIT

I have just painted the car Fuewehrot (the red the 300SL came in) to try and sort the red interior. What's happened is the grey bar for the centre console is now red, but the rest of the red interior (Which should be gray in the red painted car) has STAYED red! So basically, what I have achieved is a FULL red interior on a car which in standard colours in game should only be partly red.

Cars available with multiple interior colours always automatically change to one default interior colour when you paint them, this is always the same colour (one of the other interior colours available with another paint was selected by PD) for a particular car (in the case of the 300SL it's red) which probably has to do with technical limitations but which severely limits the possibilities if you want a certain interior/exterior colour combination.

I knew it'd possibly change when I painted it, but then, when I changed the colour BACK to the red it was before, the interior has become a colour scheme that CANNOT be bought on the car! It's pretty crazy...

If you know the interior of this car REALLY well, you'll understand what's happened here.

The section of the dashboard containing the "300SL" type, is red in a car bought in red, while the rest of the interior is a calm shade of gray. If you buy a weißgrau car, that situation is exactly reversed; the central bar is gray but the entire rest of the interior is red. My particular car has become some interesting hybrid of the two color schemes.

Awhile ago someone flipped one, and found out that PD had modeled the Autoart base under it. They notified PD and they kinda fixed it.

I think.

Not sure if this has been mentioned already but you can install a horn on the 125 SPL Kart, the default horn is the Tank Car horn (I think, not sure if I had changed it previously). Noticed it the other night and rather took me by surprise.. (You cant put a horn on any of the others)

I assume you mean a production model?

Bump, this thread must live!

Found a small bug on the Mitsubishi FTO '94, I got one at the UCD and when I repaired the engine at GT Auto I noticed the stock rims look weird while the car is moving. They constantly keep changing between light gray and dark gray. This also appears when you are on track, though it's hard to see while you're racing, when you roll slow or go to photomode and freeze the rim you'll see what I mean.

(I took photos of that, probably going to post those later)
