Cars you don't want in GT5

Well, define "average" cars. I don't know if most of my own Americans just like power and performance in anything, or just that some people don't really want to race anything that isn't worth taking to the track.

Before I continue, the TRUCKS argument is clean. No Hummers or Excursions or whatever. That's clean, no debate. The Minivan deal, it's fun. In fact, I'm trying to mod up a Honda Odyssey and a Honda Element in GT4. You may not find satisfaction in racing these machines, but it doesn't mean the rest of the world has to agree with you. I usually think there is a misconception people sometimes make when it comes to racing games. True, they are about speed. However, what good is speed is you can't control your car? Even if you get the fastest cars in the world, you'll still be racing tracks with the likes of El Capitan, Autumn Ring, Opera Paris, and the no-life paradise of Nürburgring Nordschleife. A race car or a sports car doesn't have to be stupidly fast. People consider the Mazda Miata a sports car and what's IT'S top speed?

You know, let me ask you. What if a GT game included a car powered by a motorcycle engine but can still reach about 140 mph or more? Most motorcycle engines aren't extremely powerful (here's a hint: get your mind off of the Dodge Tomohawk). Would it be an exception to "weak, slow cars" or is it still not a sports car? When I try to share my mind and offer my own opinions, I'm not trying to force you to think the same way I do. But at least respect my views even if you= don't like them. Every Gran Turismo fan is different. Many of us like cars for reasons different than yours. Keep in mind. I hated slow cars myself. It wasn't until I actually grown a sense of appreciating automobiles for what they are. I don't have a car or actual racing experience. I did race go-karts before. I could probably push 20 or so in one, but they can still be as fun if I even end up racing F1 cars. I credit my love of racing almost all autos in GT to an appreciation of cars and not so much on loving speed and power all the time. One last thing... did I say I was stoked about Minivans? Minivans aren't speed machines and probably couldn't care less if they were. The typical counterstatement I make is, "if you don't like it, that's why you can tune it." I never said or implied that I love minivans more than sports cars. All I'd say is that when sports cars get boring, that's why I have slower, still fun autos. Speed and power should never be an excuse as to why such cars are hated.

^ Well most people here are as ignorant-as-before.

-> I like driving lower horsepowered cars in Nurb. (say a stock 140hp Lancer) for 3 laps. Isn't GT a "Real Driving Simulator" in which driving is its core thing. Enthusia came close thou (due to its insane physics), and Forza, is I think primarily a racing sim (like Live4Speed and GTR for PC). I like to see few performace Trucks/SUV in the game (no matter if its designed for pavement [like Jeep SRT-8 and Ford Lighning] or off-road [like Isuzu Vehicross and Mitsu Pajero Evo]) once in a while, but not those mid-grade models.

Yeah, I did a thread back in the GT4 forums about the impact of having daily drivers in the game, Vanishing Boy. I think there's a problem many GT gamers will have. The problem is that there should be only cars either with 100+ horsepower, goes really fast, or has prestigious makes and cars not otherwise seen in the GT series.

There was a point I made earlier that different nations have different automotive cultures. Here in America, there's nothing like a 1964 Ford Mustang or a 1963 Chevy Corvette tearing up the road and the track. But not everyone is all into really fast cars... not even Italy. I have grown a concept of being a "citizen of the world" with automobiles. Places like Europe and Japan have some really fast automobiles, but then there are small cars that will disappoint most performance types because we are so used to fast cars and powerful engines. Cars with 100hp or less have actually been around since GT1 and hasn't changed since. Yeah, it's a racing game. But you don't need powerful cars all the time. Hell, I've even played a few go-kart games that were fast. Fact of the matter is that GT games are made to cater to those who want high performance and to those who feel perfectly fine with economy cars. Taking a Ford Taurus (you must have no life, do you :D?) out to a Family Cup race is as fine as racing a Dodge Viper in a Stars and Stripes event. Also, you have to race with Kei cars at one point. It won't kill you. It just means that you'll have to muscle around something smaller, nimbler, not as fast, but can still be fun. To me, there are two types of racing gamers. Those who find satisfaction only in speed and power, and those who find satisfaction in racing quality despite horsepower and speed.

Not trying to start something, but do we think that most of us who like slower cars in addition to fast ones need psychological help? You learn car control with lower-powered cars in license tests. You simply can't go from driver's license to Formula One or the 24 Hours of Le Mans in one shot. Many Kei cars may be ugly, may be slow, but they weren't designed to go that fast. If you put all your emphasis on "fast all the time," then all the other cars waiting for you to race are basically meaningless. It's my opinion, but that's a slap to the face of PD and Gran Turismo. They went through all that work coming up with as many cars to satisfy as many audiences, and you only care about fast and exotic automobiles. They have them in the game... use them. Do whatever you want with them. Nobody said only fast cars make a game good.

I agree with you John BMO--- except where you blow most arguments I've heard WAY out of proportion... asking for 100hp is NOT demanding fast, all the time.. it's asking respect, all the time... as much fun as some people may have in slow cars, its just rediculas to race a "sports car" when an everday, bottom-of-the-line toyota or whatever sedan will spank its pants off... I love driving cars with low power, but not miniscule... is it so much to ask for a car to be able to go 80 mph on most tracks? my car in the driveway can do better than that... and I personally, consider it slow - and would be somewhat embarrased if I took it to a road course... and where you say economy car... you mention a Ford Taurus.. way more than 100hp... kei cars are boring.. they do NOT take skill to drive... they give unbelievable warnings before breaking traction, they can't spin tires, they're never carrying to much speed for the brakes... where's the challenge again? I'm not trying to be rude, but I'm simply asking for everyday-car power -- never once have I, or anyone I've seen, said they only wanted really fast cars.... and GT1 made all it's cars faster than they were in real life... so they few, very very few cars with less than 100hp seemed faster... that was always my take anyway, through the 5 times I played through it

You know, let me ask you. What if a GT game included a car powered by a motorcycle engine but can still reach about 140 mph or more? Most motorcycle engines aren't extremely powerful (here's a hint: get your mind off of the Dodge Tomohawk). Would it be an exception to "weak, slow cars" or is it still not a sports car?

you mean the suzuki with the hayabusa engine?

I credit my love of racing almost all autos in GT to an appreciation of cars and not so much on loving speed and power all the time. One last thing... did I say I was stoked about Minivans? Minivans aren't speed machines and probably couldn't care less if they were. The typical counterstatement I make is, "if you don't like it, that's why you can tune it." I never said or implied that I love minivans more than sports cars. All I'd say is that when sports cars get boring, that's why I have slower, still fun autos. Speed and power should never be an excuse as to why such cars are hated.[/QUOTE]

here's where (wether you mean to or not) you make it sound as though anyone who doesnt appreciate what you do, as stated above, doesnt love cars as much as you...
not wanting to spend 30 seconds on the fuji straight certainly does not mean someone doesnt love cars...

Your talking about that concept car right, that has the GSX1300R's engine andthere arn't any real performance figures for that car, it's never been driven irl. and Suzuki never said what they expected it's performance would be. Then you have the Caterham Fireblade, that has a Honda Fireblade engine, while the bike could do 167mph+, in the car it can't go that fast. But I think 140mph may be acheivable in that.

If you want proof as to why small cars can still be fun, take a look at these old threads I've started:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=40529 ("Small Talk")

On top of that, take a look at these quotes. These are quotes from Gran Turismo 2 based on the Info for cars. This is to show that they can still be fun even if you love speed demons more. Get ready for a long post with a good number of excerpts.

(All quotes courtesy of Gran Turismo 2)

(Mazda AZ-1; 1990; 63hp) "If at glance it looked like a cute toy, it was a car that pursued the fun part of driving." ... "...the AZ-1 was a valuable car in teaching that sportiness does not have to rely on absolute speed and acceleration."

(Toyota Prius; 1998; 73hp) The Toyota Prius is smooth, clean, quiet, quick enough for normal everyday use. If this is the future, even auto enthusiasts should be happy."

(Daihatsu Midget II D-Type; 30hp) "While it may look like merely a whimsical commercial pickup, the Midget II is more like a racing car, with its midship engine, one seater design (a two seater is also available), and packaging that would put a sports car to shame."

(Ford Ka; 59hp) "The Ka may not be fast, but it's still a complete hoot to drive as competitors in the one-make Ka rally championship will testify."

(Toyota Vitz/Yaris/Echo; 1999; 67hp) "The Echo is no boring transportation appliance. A front-wheel drive vehicle, it has a MacPherson strut front, torsion beam rear suspension that combines ride comfort with entertaining handling. The Echo puts the 'fun' in functional."

(Subaru 360; 1969; 34hp) "Hard to believe that this is the ancestor of the fire-breathing WRX STi, but it's true." ... "Its small size and good fuel economy...theoretically worked in its favor, but the American taste for larger cars worked against it." ... "There was a Japanese racing class for 360cc cars, with stock-bodied, open-wheel, and sports-racing variations. Some were tuned to 50hp and more. With light weight, these could be very interesting and quick, like large go-karts."

(Suzuki Cappucino; 1995; 61hp) "...the Suzuki Cappucino became one of the most popular mini-sports cars of all time. The FR layout and classic sports car proportions give this model an aesthetically pleasing stylishness that remains fresh today." ... "Although unrefined in some respects, this car allows beginning drivers to experience the power and handling of a sports car. It also lets the driver enjoy the thrill of a true front-wheel drive, rear-engine vehicle."

(Fiat 500R; 1975; 22hp) "The tiny Fiat 500 (2970mm x 1320mm x 1335mm) first hit the showrooms back in 1957 and was hailed as the car that would bring motoring to the masses in Italy." ... "The 500 was a utilitarian four-seater that possessed kart-like handling, if not kart-like performance. It was also the cheapest way to get mobile at the time." ... "Given its distinct lack of power, the 500 was no performance demon. Fortunately for those who loved its looks, but wanted something a bit faster, the high performance Abarth version arrived in 1963." ... "Abarth managed to double the power output of the engine - the fastest SS versions delivered more than 40 bhp. Maximum speed was up now to over 90 mph, and that was at a time when many sports cars could barely crack the 100 mph mark."

(Mini Cooper 1.3il 196?; 61hp) "In its heyday, even the likes of Steve McQueen were snapping up the fine-handling Mini Cooper. It went on to win the Monte Carlo Rally three times between 1964 and 1967." ... "It's still just as much fun in the corners, where it can rip at the heels of machinery that is much faster on the straights. The Mini is one of the most influential cars of all time. It's transversely-mounted engine with front-wheel drive was unique when it was introduced, and now is the most common drivetrain for passenger cars."

And to end, I'd like to throw this in just for the hell of it:

(Rover Mini 1275S Mark 1; 19??; 76hp) "It could outhandle a surprising number of more conventional cars. It had to take advantage of its cornering abilities, since in original 350cc forum it had all of 37 horsepower." ... "Mini-Coopers were the terrors of small-displacement sedan racing, and very successful in rallying as well."

Who says video games don't make good research tools? ;-) They can still perform even if you think they offer little satisfaction. Convinced now? That's why many prefer having these small cars in the game IN ADDITION to faster and much faster cars.

i want to take the model t in gt4 and make it a hot rod...
i am "anti-this-thread" 👎 more cars you have, more people play the games, more fun, more chances to look like an idiot. i wouldn't mind if the put motorcycles in GT5 or bicycles. the penny farting would be cool. i'd like to see more normal cars, not the race spec ones, or the fastes ones in the lineup.
Quote: Futurama:
Bender: Bite my shiny metal A$$.
and for GT5, if they make it like NFS UG2 with spaceship bodykits and flashing lights i will never but GT5.
NFS UG2 VS. GT5=
NFS UG2= Rice all show no go.....
GT5= Tuners game. aero kits not body kits. aero kits serve a purpose.
if you like puting a trunk full of tv's in your honda, go buy NFS UG2
if you want to have a real tuners game buy GT5....
i am spekaing from what i am assuming GT5 will be like. an my experience with GT4

I hope no European (besides me) arrives here to read the desprestige some guys are making to Fiat's 500, Skodas, etc :P

As someone said before, I hope it features as many cars as posible. (Including European all-time supercars, a.k.a Ferrari, Lambo, Koenigsegg, Maserati, etc).

Red Emblem
i wouldn't mind if the put motorcycles in GT5 or bicycles. the penny farting would be cool.

If you want motorbikes, play Tourist Trophy.
And you mis-spelled "penny farthing". Its not "farting" ( )

here's my 2 cents:
1) I like the trucks, in fact there should be more. plus, you can make the 4x4's into sport trucks easily, so they shouldn't be left out (of course they need more exterior customizing parts first).

2) I can see not having minivans in the game, but what about full-size vans? Back in the 70's those were some of the prime vehicles for customizing and racing (see the movie The Van). Stick a supercharger, some chrome rims, side pipes, and a flame paint job on one and you got one sweet machine.

3) Antiques and other old vehicles are always cool to drive, regardless of horsepower. How many other games do you see with the Model T, Daimlers, or Mercedes 300 Gullwing? not many if not none at all.

4) Why keep ranting on about having too many cars (especially Skylines) or having some stupid or slow cars? Just don't buy them (unless it's for a specific race, then i understand the hatred)!

5) How can you rant on about there being too many Skylines unless you bought them all for some reason?

6) And what's with people saying about how they hate racing Imprezas vs. a truck? don't race them together than!

And by the way, did they actually have the older Mini Cooper 1.3i in GT4 or not, because it's not in the GT4 Guidebook car list nor can i find it anywhere in the game?

The old Mini is in the Japanese version, not in the PAL and NTCS-America version. Don't know why they did that, I don't see the point of it that they removed it. Maybe BMW nagged about it, since the old model is not a BMW design, but I doubt that would be the reason though.

Cars I don't want in GT5:

377,000 variations of the so called "god" Japanese cars. Cars such as the Lancer Evolution and Nissan Skyline come to mind. They're good cars, but why does PD have to flood every GT with so many models that have no difference between them? A few models from each generation will do just fine.

RVD, I don't think that's going to change much. Obviously, if it's a hot car in Japan and if people around the world like the car, PD will do anything possible to scratch that itch. Only Skylines I don't like are those wussy G35-like Skylines. No character and rather boring (unless you want to make them Drift Cars like what Team Falken did with the Infiniti G35).

I'm probably going to get blasted for this, but I can recall a time when there were one too many of a certain car. I can recall Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec. In the Mitsubishi lineup, there were two seperate Tommi Makkinen Lancer Evo VI models. One had a solid color, the other with sort of a striped model. I think they could have been one car with different paint options instead of two seperate cars. And they both cost the same in the game. To me, that's an unecessary overuse of a car. I'm not likely to use every one of a certain car in the game, but for many fans, many options. That's the way I look at it. It may seem like multiple iterations, but for lovers, it actually isn't.

Just the notion of "cars you don't want" really concerns me even to this day. The reason being is, you're not the only car fan in the world. PD markets a game like this to as many people as possible to as many automotive tastes as possible. Now personally (not to bring up a wish list), I'd like to see a few more Australian cars, maybe a few more Korean autos, a bigger British contingent, and that's about it. There's a reason people get mad over an issue as "cars you don't want." There are three types of car fans: one appreciates all automobiles regardless of power and performance, one who appreciates and loves only a certain type of car, and those that are in-between. The people who most appreciate GT games from a car perspective are those who can have fun in almost any car with any performance numbers. If GT was about only a certain type of car, then it would be redundant because you have only those choices. People love variety, don't you? I don't want to race ONLY muscle cars, or only super cars, or only fast race cars. I, like most other car lovers, want to race anything and everything because WE LOVE AUTOMOBILES. We love tuning them up, we like looking for great cars, and basically, saying "we don't want this car" is a slap in the face to PD. PD doesn't care what you love. They just want to satisfy as many people as possible. Without this goal, then it wouldn't be GT, would it?

I see some people still decide who appreciates cars and GT more.... There was a thread.... it was about cars you don't want.... and people come in and blasted people for what cars they didnt like..... and refuse to accept it... why can't these people, instead of demanding they their opinion be respected, take a turn respecting somone else's? and if they can't do that, why don't they stay out of the thread that they don't agree with?

By the by, PD does care what YOU want, they care what each and everybody wants, because were all customers, and they have to satisfy, obviously, if only one person wants something, it aint gonna happen, however, just like your opinions, you need other people who agree in cases like these, but that still doesnt make what your saying true, because out of 3 million copies or more sold, on GTPlanet, there aint to many comparitive to that, we can only go by percentages, which is fine, but you really gotta learn to either A. respect other people opinions, or, B. Stop getting so d@m offended when people say something you don't like JohnBMO, because if you can't do one of those, you'll be a hypocrite, and that's something nobody likes, or respects

P.S. GT never started out as a game that embraced all Automobiles, It heavily favored Japanese, it's only in later games they started branching out, because they saw an interest, so I'd say they do care what You, Me, Him, Her, and the other people want,
and now the international glory that is.......GT because they responded to what people do/don't want <---includes don't

Come on now. I'm just offering my opinions. Doesn't my voice count?

The fact of the matter is that we all are car fans of some sort, obviously. The reason why people decline an argument like this is because to them, it's dumb. Part of the fun of the GT series is seeing the world. People will debate all they can, all they want. I know this thread is about "cars you don't want." To me, it's just not right to say "I like cars, but I don't like THESE cars." Who knows? You might find a favorite car to work with. This can range from a small car to a Le Mans Prototype. Another reason why this subject is dumb to people is because if one person doesn't like a certain car, does it mean everyone else have to agree? Of course not. But then, the thread is called "Cars You Don't Want in GT4." Does it have to mean that we have no place in this thread all because we don't want to get rid of any cars? Of course not, and here's why. Every argument proposed, you will have three types of people- those who agree with you, those you disagree with you, and those who are neutral. It's human nature as well as morality. Not everyone is going to agree with this idea of getting rid of certain cars. I'm just defending my views as well as anyone else would. What do you want me to do? Agree with ideas I don't like? This isn't a one-way street.

Yes, some people don't want certain cars in GT games. Many people don't like the idea of getting rid of certain cars. Hell, I didn't like working with a 493+ hp supercar on Sports Medium tires. Did it mean that I don't want these mega powerful cars in a race ever again? No. When someone presents a game, you're given a challenge. Even in the worst games with the worst levels, your job is to meet the challenge and beat it. It's as simple as that. Now, if this was "tracks you don't want," "races you don't want," or anything like that, it would be completely successful in talking about stuff people don't want. But in the sense of "Cars You Don't Want," that's been one of the big highlights of the GT series over the years. People love cars, and I've grown to love slower automobiles. In addition, I actually found fun in trucks, my Honda Odyssey I'm trying to tune, my Honda Element I'm "experimenting with," and I still love my Toyota Tacoma X-Runner. I may even get another Ford SVT Lightning. I'd want to keep the cars and trucks in the game because part of the joy of GT games is the drive. You take away the ability to tune anything that's a great performer no matter what category it belongs to, and be able to discover performance that can help you win races.

So, if it has wheels, can be tuned, and can be better than stock, then keep it in the game. And if not, don't bother programming it into the game. GT's all about the drive and the race, and so am I. Take that away, and you have a disgruntled GT fan looking for something more fun than GT with all GT had to offer. One last note, you can say "damn" anytime you want. ;-)

JohnBM01
Come on now. I'm just offering my opinions. Doesn't my voice count?

I could show you the part where you said "PD doesn't care what you love." now granted, you didnt technically say that you think their opinion doesnt count, BUT - you implied that their opinion doesnt count. And I agree with him, that you, me, him, every individual in here has an equal vote

"This isnt a one-way street", you say, however I remember seeing in a thread you started where somebody disagreed with what the thread was saying, and 10 people jumped on his back...yet I continue to see some of the very same people do the exact same thing, going into a thread, and arguing against what that thread is about. I'm not saying it's wrong to state your opinion, and I'm not saying nobody should disagree with a thread topic. I'm simply saying that it's Not ok to do it, and then get angry or even the slightest bit miffed when somebody else does it. why? beacause you just did the same thing

Lo!

Thought this was a pointless thread, for every car that ever exists should be in 5. But it seems I've found a few exceptions to my aforementioned:

the Benz pantent motor carriage
the other 1 bhp pile 'o crap

And any other car with less than 20 bhp.

If you can't make it up the little hill at Midfield, then you can't make it anywhere.

That is all.

So why is it acceptable to think cars with less than 20 hp shouldnt be in, but cars with less than 50 is not acceptable? There's gotta be a line drawn somewhere, and everybodys entitled to draw their own, whether PD listens to anybody or not.
I'll draw mine at 100, with the exception of pre 1970 cars that are quite impressive due to lighweight - I.E., Lotus Europa, I believe has less, but it still moves, or the Elan, and I'm sure there's more that I'm not thinking of, but it should at least be able to go 100mph or something, somewhere above crawling, like the Daihatsu Midgets, while neat and humorous, should never be on a race track, unless we can also foot race pushing shopping carts? I could get 50 on a really big mountain!(if I jumped in and didnt wreck first)

Now, on the topic of super-slow, very-low horsepowered cars, I've created a thread of mine on that. It is called something similar to "Sound Off! How to Get More People Into Small Cars and Vintage Cars" or something like that. I invite you to offer your opinions there.

wasnt a huge argument started there over somebody saying they didnt like small cars? and he was blamed for taking the thread off-topic and yelled at, and now you're inviting people in with opinions against small cars, or against the really slow ones? I'm confused, is this a trick?

Well I personally don't want to see anything with less then 100BHP, but shouldn't mean those cars shouldn't be in the game considering their historic part played in driving. It is a driving game after all, racing just happens to be a big part of it.

...ok well actually, there is one I don't want in there, the Citreon 2CV...it's probably the biggest waste in automative history. Made no difference to anyone except french farmers who didn't want to mess up their hats and crack eggs and was used by either farmers or hippies who thought they were protecting the o-zone layer when it did more damage then most cars of it's time. That and it just deserves to be destroyed to death

I don't know if I said this, but flat out DON'T GET RID OF ANY CAR!

Get rid of all FWD cars? What about 70-80 of Touring Cars? Touring Cars like the Honda Integra, Alfa Romeo 155, Peugeot 406, Mazda 6, and such are front-wheel drive race cars. They may not be GT race cars, but are about as stock as you can get, and they make great competition. So no. DON'T get rid of most FWD cars. Think about the daily drivers of FWD cars who want to see their machines in the game. I'm not under the impression that FWD is reserved for taxis and soccer mom drivers. Don't give me the "ricer" deal either with this. They can stay. Absolutely nothing wrong with FWD cars in GT games. If they can perform or be much better than stock, then any car should be in, don't you think?

I wouldn't know the historical significance of the Citroen 2CV if GT4 didn't have Info on cars. They may be slow, but it doesn't mean they can't be raced. It's not all about speed. Don't be under the impression that only fast cars make cars people want to race. Maybe some people just want to drive. And look at it like this. Back then, most cars could miraculously make it to 10 mph. As times past, be lucky if the car gets to 60, even if it takes a while (like the Subaru 360). To me, I think of it as history. We may race on modern tracks, but it doesn't mean that we can't give a little old school in a car that used to be fast in its day. What's wrong with the past meeting the present?

You really want to get rid of the cars I've defended? Ask the fans who love and support seeing and racing these autos. My only things I wouldn't want would be Cadillac SUVs, tanks, police cars, or anything not suited to tuning or racing.

JohnBM01
I don't know if I said this, but flat out DON'T GET RID OF ANY CAR!
okay, fine.

JohnBM01
They may be slow, but it doesn't mean they can't be raced. It's not all about speed.
Alright, we've heard that...

JohnBM01
My only things I wouldn't want would be Cadillac SUVs, tanks, police cars, or anything not suited to tuning or racing.
HUH??? why can't I race an Escalade? how in the world is a 32hp midget more tunable??? And what happened to aprecciating ALL cars? or are trucks the (bleep) to you?

Seriously, the thread's about car's people don't want, and every time somebody says ANYTHING, you jump in with the same tired argument about loving all that is automotive, fine. But now, you even start naming vehicles you don't want, what gives?

So are you angry about people hating cars or do you hate some to?
Oh John, you make me so confused...

Actually, I'm of the opinion that there should be no car left out, ultimately, so maybe those of us of that persuasion should just stay out of this thread.

Besides, now I feel deprived. I was really looking forward to an M1 Abrams tank race! Shoot your way to the lead! :D

Even my love of autos has its limits. I wouldn't want anything that takes up two lanes while racing. In the thread about not having any usd cars, I perfectly stated that getting rid of Used Cars would kill GT. Thing is, we can talk all day until the sun becomes a red giant. Fact is, there are people who prefer we don't have any cars taken away. Something I always say is that if you hate a car, there will be some fan who loves the car. Is that person an imbecile for not agreeing to what you perfectly claimed to the world? No, it just means that our tastes in cars are different. We are all human and love any car we invest interest on.

First thing in wondering about what I'm talking about- calm down and quit the arguing. I usually stated what I wouldn't want in GT. For example, I don't like Cadillac. Only Cadillac I like is that Northstar LMP race car from the late 1990s and early 2000. I especially am not fond of any Escalade. So while I try to respect all automobiles, even I have my least favorites. I think [recent] Mercurys are dull, and the only Lincoln I've ever liked (in terms of actually wanting to race in a game) was the Lincoln LS. Let me compare "love" and "respect." Love means that everything about a car or genre appeals to you in every sense, and you wouldn't trade it for anything else out there. Respect means that whether you approve or disapprove of something, you like it for what it is. When I say "respect all automobiles," that is on the context that every car out there is something to appreciate and care about even if you don't personally love the auto in your face.

I do respond to vehicles I wouldn't want to see, but you just think that I'm disallowing anyone of saying that the car shouldn't be in GT5. My responses are based on stuff I would not want to race or at least own in the game. So if it means that I don't want to race an Escalade around Laguna Seca, then those are my personal tastes. And only one person is in charge of my tastes- me. Now, when a person comes in saying something like "I don't want a Subaru 360 in GT5," that's where I try to offer some second opinion. You know, give people a different perspective on the auto. I'm suggestive, not hateful. If I wanted to be hateful, I can make fun of anyone I wanted and not take any punishment thereafter. Since I'm not a jackass, I'm only offering my opinion because I love automobiles and grown to love and respect many automobiles despite power, performance, and any other essential elements. So when I say to keep FWD vehicles in the game and keep daily drivers in the game, I mean it. Or, we could make GT completely lack diversity and just make it all sports cars and all performance cars. Instead of a different variety of cars, we can just make it only very fast race cars. Do you want a game that lacks diversity as GT games have exhibited since 1997? I'll race a low-powered car, maybe even do some Free Racing around a track with just me and the car. I've matured as a car lover, and I honor my maturity by mixing up my garage with a mix of slow and fast, weak and powerful, stock and fully-tuned. I don't have to if I don't want to, but that's how I want to play. My love of cars is different from many others, but there are still cars I love and loathe even if no one agrees with me.

Bottom line, we're all different. I try to be suggestive. I know what cars I don't want. But for autos that won't kill you to race or tune, then I have to step in and be suggestive. Think of this as helping you instead of wasting time and energy disagreeing with me all the time.

You know what?

In my opinion The Patent Wagon and Daimler carraige are just as welcome into the GT series as any other Cars.

Granted their slow but what do you expect? They are 120 years old after all what are you expecting a Ferrari?

Way i see it their not doing any harm. It's not like PD'S Asking you to race them against an Audi R8 50 laps around the Nurburgring or anything.

Maybe than we would have a problem

and lay of the Truck hating their an interesting addition to the game :grumpy:
