You feeble minded human. Why does everybody think I'm whining when I'm sarcastic ?? Get a sense of humor, fool

Um, they're reporting you for calling people morons. ;) Check your AUP if your never too sure whether what you say crosses the line. It's up to the mods if you get a warning or not though. :)

However, with what people regarding FR Skyline's sucking, the R33 GTR LM is actually a decent piece of car when done up properly. Not to mention the R32 GTS-t which can get 400hp+ when worked, handles well from being heaps lighter (200kg lighter) and is actually a good alternative to an S15 Silvia. Don't forget the R30's and R31 either, all great cars in their own rights.
The R32 GTS25 can be done up decently too, getting 370hp and give the supercars a good chasing on +10 Family Cup.

Speaking of the S15 Silvia, did anyone find it's final tuned power output tad bit low? 440hp if i am not mistaken...

I mean the Amuse GT1 S2000 puts out more. Whereas in real life the S15 would put out around 500 to 600hp versus an S2000 that would have to have its motor rebuilt from the ground up just to get to 400hp on turbo power... Oversight?

Close Jonn, it's actually 450hp on the dot for the Silvia. :) But as for the Honda motor in real life you can get B18C, F20C and K20A motors pumping 600hp....some of them using just a turbo, intercooler, lots of fuel and lots of boost.

But let's not turn this into a Nissan vs Honda thread. :P

Oh don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to turn into a brand vs brand thread.

I drive a DC2 Si with a B18C, i love my car but even i know the limitations it has in terms of boosting high with a turbo.

Yes there have been instances of B18s running nearly 600 wheel but the effort required and cost far out weighs the tuning and cost required to turn a turbo ready engine into a 600 wheel monster. :)

In reality engines like the SR20DET and the 4G63T reach higher output goals better than Honda's NA engines.

I just thought that the final output of the SR20 was a bit low considering so many have already exceeded the 600hp mark already in RL.

Just food for thought ;)

PS - very few tuners have extracted more than 400hp out of an F20C without changing the characteristics of the engine completely i.e. lower revving F20C/F22C rather than having the monstrous 9000rpm limit.

Over on our side of the shores I totally agree with you Jonn, it's much more cost effective to do an SR, 4G or EJ motor. But stateside, the amount of hi-po Hondas is ridiculous, not to mention what they're now doing with the 4G motor.

Anyway, let's find more crap tuned cars. :mischievous:

I guess there is no stopping development as long as you have money. ;) guess we're stuck playing GT4 and dreams until the next higher paying job comes around.

Anyways back to crap cars...

Sometimes I think the cars in this game are greatly underpowered, when tuned max, compared to their same versions in the real world. For example, I'm sure you could tune a Civic for more than just 350hp or so.

You can, but it's not going to be particularly streetable or reliable.

Some cars race in tracks, but still remain road legal. That's what you mean by "streetable", right Duke? Anyways, I think that is still pointless. Why should I want a road legal car in a racing game where there are no roads?

Good things often come in brown or green bottles. ;)

I think I don't understand :odd:

 It's because you're too young to understand C-L. ;)

Beer comes in either green or brown bottles.

You might not but I do, that's why most of my GME Road division cars are actually done to my state's road authority rules which says a car can't be lower than 100mm. ;) But having higher cars helps on some circuits (like Nurburgring). :)

 How old are you, mafia_boy? I think I remember reading somewhere that you were as old as I am or a bit older :odd: I think it was in Alfie's thread.

That sounds like a very nice detail right there in your tuning garage :D

I think the fool was not sarcasm at all, even if it had the [/sarcasm]. That was direct insult right there.

 No, I'm a LOT older than you. I'm just as immature as you, that's all. :D Remember, I'm legal to drink Beer. :P

It was something that was inspired off another members comment, how he wanted the details of a car as real to life as he was driving on the road around his house.

I dont think thats the point... this is track racing... max tuned b18 should be able to make 500 hp.

In real life a 500hp B18 would only run on a drag strip. A front wheel drive car with 500hp would struggle to turn let alone go straight with all that torque steer. Again i say that 'cos i drive a Teg with a B18C.

I firmly believe that all Vtec fwd should stick to NA engines anyways, for real life. For track not to drag use.

/opinion :D

I'm gonna be annoying and get back on topic.

I was def. disappointed by not so much individual cars, more so the limations of tuning. In GT2, I used to love building little giant killers out of underpowered Kei cars (190bhp max! In a car that weighs around 700kg! Brilliant!!) by slapping huge turbos etc on them. SHame this wasnt the case this time around :( Oh well, I suppose it's a touch far-fetched to expect a 658cc engine to knock out 190bhp without huge turbo lag.

The Suzuki Escudo, in GT2 was one of the best cars of the game in GT4 is terrible to control and drive (except on the test track).

Yes, you're right about that.. There're loads of understeer in this car, but the only track where it really can show its potential is the Test Course.. 👍

How did you think it would be great? Other than acceleration, V8 engine noises, & general burnout capability? Just curious.

Yup! The Superbird is a great car in all of those aspects. May I add "looks"? I find it definitely more attractive than most cars in the game, including japanese cars, and european cars. It's something muscle cars have: appeal. 👍

Whatcha mean ?? You know how hard that Superbird Driving Mission is ?? To get that first place is a disaster, I can never catch up !!

So you think, that if you can't drive, the car is the problem, and thus sucks?
[SARCASM]Then it must br a bad car, if you can't drive it. [/SARCASM]

Actually, that Mission is very, very forgiving. The Buick Special is, in my opinion, and I believe everyone here can agree with me, the fastest pre-1970 american car in the game. Its handling is nowhere near as bad as the other muscle cars. In that mission, you have to win on the corners to catch the Buick, though if another was driving the car, you would never have the chance to catch him. Buy it, and see what I mean.
Besides, the driving aids make the mission difficult. Without them, and even with the increased wheelspin, the car behaves a lot better. I find the mission easy, though. I can win it by about six seconds. The only opportunity that I've got to drive an orange Superbird, other than arcade! :banghead:

I totally agree there.. The mission's so easy and as you've said, the car would be better without driving aids (Any car in the missions hall!).. 👍

The worse car in GT4, for me, is the Caterham. Its not really the cars fault though, I'll give you a little background. Couple years ago, I was watching this strange little British show on SPEED, you probably heard of it, 5th Gear. Anyways, they had this large bloke on there, racing in his first amateur race in a roadster call a Caterham 7, I think. I quite enjoyed it. Later on, while playing GT4, I was needing that something "special" for one of the series I was going to do. Thats when I came across this gem of a car. But wait, it cost 70G's, and I was a little short. So, like everyone else, I raced and saved, and raced and saved until I finally had enough credits to purchase the car, and boy was I happy. Then, I went to the said series to show the AI what for in my shiny new roadster...... CANNOT GO BEYOND THIS POINT WITH SPECIAL CAR ......what!!!!! Man was I angry. Like I said, its not the cars fault but, I only drove it once, because of this. Without being able to race the Caterham, I just couldn't fall in love with it. I mean come on 70G's, or was 60G's, I can't remember now (need to lay off the booze).
