I can only hope that you're right T D... If they don't somebody else (Forza) likely will do so. You know... (I know I've said it before) I'm thining that the best thing for any racing game makers to do would be to check this site and see what people want out of a racing game. At the same time, Pd should be doing the same on Forza sites and so on... I really REALLY thing that Codebreakers did just that when they made TOCA 3... Everything you see repeated on these and many other racing forums was in there...

I wish I could some how get the stats on what cars are most driven by gamers in this game... All I know it that I'm failry sure that it isn't anything with less the 276hp...
You will be surprised on the results buddy.
I drive 100hp max cars all the time. Infact i have seen cars like this (Ex. Fiant Panda) People have been able to get them up to 170mph!

It shows your low tolerence for cars you don't know how to use.
Low HP cars are the MORE fun, since it gives a you challenge...

I love little cars, there sooo awsome when you lap those bigger cars.

And then the look on there faces...

I am crossing my fingers on those guesses. I think Kaz will do as much of that as he can, and then some. I do expect some great surprises. It depends on how long they've been working on GT5. If it's more than three years, which I suspect, we could all be in GT heaven.

Someone on the PS3Land boards reminded me that Kazunori said in an interview two years ago that he wanted to release GT4 on the next Playstation and had been working in that direction, but the system wasn't going to be ready so GT4 was the simplified version. So anything and everything can be possible with that kind of development time, Kaz-sama's ambition, and the power of the PS3.

O god, do i hope your right.
If GT5 has been in 3 years of development, it will definatly blow are heads.

Supposedly - this is the net after all - someone from 1Up managed to get a sneak look at GT5 and said that it'll sell PS3's like hotcakes and wipe the floor with most racing games. And from thwe video that we've seen, I can believe it. Of course I'm expecting something similar from Forza 2 but we'll see.

Just a few more hours till a possible revelation...

Wow, sounds very tempting. It must be that good to wipe the floor with racing games. OT but, noob question, if your expecting something to Forza 2 is that a good thing? I haven't played the game so I was hoping thats a good thing:dunce:

Pluheeeeez let there be Porsches!!!

I'm talking race cars: the 935, 956, and 962, to name just a few. And the latest RS Spyder would be nice. Winners all!

Does Sony really need to pay companies to have their cars in the game? Do they need to pay Kia to have their cars in the game? I don't think so. It's free advertisement for the companies, and it's the best next thing to actually having people go to a dealer for a test drive.

Yeah, sadly, the car companies are in it to make a buck. And evidently to get Porsches, you need to bring a big darn check to EA too! Criminey, I'm beginning to hate them as much as I do Sony and Microsoft. :P

And yeah, Forza is a really great game. It's kind of what GT isn't, so they complement each other really well. It has Ferrari and Porsche for starters! Drifters love Forza because it's supposed to be cake to start a drift and hold it till you get bored with it. Modders love it because you not only get the performance parts, but you get performance oriented body kits. Combined with the basic but very powerful paint shop, and you can race mod about any car in the game! I love that paint shop, and the bodykits look nice and agressive. The race cars you can create look fantastic, and when you get a grip on how to paint, which I managed with no help at all, every car will be unique in all the land because you created everything about it. The bots are evil little Nazis, but nothing is perfect.

Oh, and as for the Big Three in GT5, you might be hearing how Microsoft managed to get the license for all THREE of them for Forza 2. You have to know that Sony isn't going to let that stand.

My worry is that Sony and PD could easily let that stand, given the arrogance they (mostly Sony) seem to have. Sony is the one that writes the cheques!

Actually, I think it's just Ferrari and Lamborghini so far.
I haven't seen a Porsche yet so that might be saying something about EA.

I don't think MS have got Porsche for Forza 2, no one but EA has which kind of confirms that they're EA exclusive at the moment.

I talk a lot about ToCA Race Driver 3. If you want the dream matchup you want in GT4, play ToCA RD 3 until you unlock the GT Tuning Cup. You have three automobiles to choose from- the Koenig GT (looks like the Ferrari 360 Modena), Gemballa GTR750 EVO (okay, it's a Porsche-type car), and the Koenig GT-D (think of a Lamborghini Diablo). All three cars can be on the track at once. I personally recommend the Koenig GT. Koenig and Gemballa would make the perfect alternatives if these three don't show up. But I would recommend you play this game and race in this series if you want that Ferrari vs. Porsche vs. Lamborghini match up.

Let's hope that Polyphony is paying attention to this. Having the Big Three is going to draw a lot of attention. Look how many kids went nuts over PGR3 simply because it was a supercar smorgasbord. Meh.

I know I'll be in heaven in GT5 no matter what, but the Big Three really need to be included this time around.

Uhm... yeah. Tens of millions of sales say they care. Gran Turismo 4 says they care. Tossing around opinions like they're facts is a sign of arrogance.

Tossing around quotes like they're yours is unoriginal, and setteling for something is a sign of being a sucker...

What have they really given the fans of GT? People wanted racing mods and various other things... People called out for online... Damages... The big three... They just aren't listening, therefore, they don't really give a damn cause they know those that own a PS will buy their product reguardless... Or get a 360 to play FORZA, which most people won't do... It's become like a Madden franchise, visual upgrades, roster updates and not much else... And numbers mean nothing when it's the only valid racing game on a system... People keep making excuses for GT, it's a license thing... FORZA did it. The system can't do that kind of thing... TOCA 3 did pretty much everything a racer could want with half the budget and coverage of PD... You say they care, I say they don't because they have us over a barrel and they know it..

Ferrari and Porsche were licensing, Lambo probably wanted too much, Forza did it because MS had them licesend for XB games only. But now Ferrari and Porsche arn't under exclusive license and they are starting to appear in more games again, so who knows if they'll be in the next GT. At the end of the day though, if they ask for too much money, we won't see them.

Not to mention, if Polyphony caved to screaming little kids hollering for online play before it was working, would you enjoy it? I think not.

Yeah, Gran Turismo even has the same old car list from GT1, hasn't changed a bit, nope nope nope... :D

Increasing the number of Skylines, Subys, and Evos will give you larger roster numbers... This thread is about the big three... And for what ever reason, they just don't want to give them to us... Are they afraid that they won't make their money back? I think that history has proven that it will. And I cannot for the life of me see the addition of these cars hurting the franchise one bit. I can only see them appealing to an even larger group of people then they already do... It's gotten almost to the spite level with PD and these companies... RUF was a step in the righ direction. How many people love these cars... A quick search would find nearly a hundred if not more threads on the Yellowbird alone. Now imagine it was a real 911, now imagine you had a Boxster. There really is no excuse for them not having these cars in this next instalment of the game... Wouldn't you agree? There's word that the market is opening up now and that these licences are available... So, with that being said, what will the excuses be next time should they not have them? Either greed or spite and general lack of willingness to give their customres what they really want... I'm not a one game kid either, I've owned and played and replayed every single one of these games... I'm a loyal fan, but I was around from the get go when they said that damages would be in the game... I've been around when people were already asking for the big three since game 1. I've paid my dues like many others and now I'm saying that they give something back to us... Again as a thank you for making every single one of their games a greatest hits... Come on people, you deserve everything you can get out of these people. Without us they'd be nothing, so if we say we want... They should say sure... It's that simple...

No I don't agree, not at all. First off I don't have any super desire to see thoes specific car's in the game. Ofcourse it would be nice to get them, but they won't make or break the game, I will not rate how good the game is depending on thoes marquee's being there or not. It doesn't matter what we want when it comes to licensing, getting a license is an agrement made between two parties and then there the legal goings on. It doesn't matter what we say, if Ferrari don't want to be in GT, they won't be in, if Ferrari have signed an exclusive agreement to Microsoft to appear only in XBox games, they won't be in any games on anything but the XBox. Don't you get it, what we say has nothing to do with what we can get when licenses are involved, in game features like better AI, more tuning options etc sure we have some influence, but we can't decide who will make a legal agreement with Sony and who will not, sure the licenses are open at the moment, but who say's they will be in 3 months time or 6 months time, who say's thoes companies won't ask for stupid ammounts of money off Sony, who say's they'll even want to appear in the game. Certainly not me and you.

^^ Very well said! I agree fullheartedly!
And furthermore, GT has always been about driving, not actually cars. Sure Kaz has stated that he wants to make the GT series as a kind of "history of the automobile", but the driving is still what it´s all about.
Now one can argue that "the big three" is all about the drivingexperience, and in that perspective, I agree.
I must also argue that if Kaz wants to make a "history of the automobile" he will eventually need all three of the elusive manufacturers.
But like L4S said, we do not have a say-so on the matter!

Well... yes and no. Seriously, if Polyphony didn't care, we wouldn't have any supercars in the game. I'm sure the manufacturers love the attention and having game companies license their cars, but I'm also sure they put the developers through conniptions to get them. Why would we have RUF if Polyphony didn't care? Kaz knows that part of the mystique of a serious racing game like Gran Turismo is in the car list, and I'm sure he knows that a lot of silly PGR and TDU games are being sold because of the supercars in them.

And there is one thing about making a ruckus. Throwing a fit about it does give Polyphony more incentive to take the Big Three more seriously, and they know that Forza has the Lamborghini license now. So CanadianSpeed and you other guys, keep ranting. I'm with you all the way. :D

By the way James, is that you with the Strat? I wish I could play guitar but I chose keyboards. Doing guitar parts on keys is really a finger twister. :P

No ones said it's a make or break situation... But they certainly wouldn't hurt the game one bit... And you know the guys that are saying "I don't really care about em" If they were in the game would at the very least have a Diablo and an Enzo in the GT garage...

I realize that WE have no say on the matter... Though we should to an extent. What I am saying is that like me, there are very many people, that want them in there. Those that hold this issue as the one place where other games may have a leg up on GT. Where other, newer and unprooven franchises have stepped up and gotten what they knew people wanted, reguardless of the cost.

As was said... If in fact they want this to be a "who's who" of the auto world, they can't ignore these companies for ever. They've just got way to much legasy to leave at the way side.

And further more, the fact that the licenses are open now, and if they close up again in a few months with PD not being in on it will directly show a failure to act. Be it by failling to see what so many people want, or simply not carring enough to make an effort to get them. As for the companies not wanting to be in the game... Come on. I'm sure they'd pass on advertisment in one of the biggest car game that isn't even free... They're getting paid for it... Back in the late 90s, it was estimated that the sales of vehicles was greatly increased in the companies that were featured in this franchise. People also credit the presence of the Evos as one of the main reasons they've started to become so popular in North America...

Unforunately, no it doesn't.

The Dodge Concept, NSX, 3000GT, and countless others have been replaced.

Fair enough, and no I don't care if they're there or not, if they are, sure I'd have them in my garage and I'd use them at least once each, but it won't make the game much different as far as I'm concerned.

I beg to differ, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsce are not the only area where other racers have the upper hand on GT, and the other areas are far more importnant to get sorted imo than a few extra cars.

They arn't ignoring them, Kaz had a few talks with Ferrari during GHT4's development, he's mentioned all three companies in interviews, up until now his hands have been tied behind his back.

And further more, the fact that the licenses are open now, and if they close up again in a few months with PD not being in on it will directly show a failure to act.
How, because if MS wants an exclusive license, it could be being worked on now but might not be sealed for a few more months, we don't know what the ssitutation is, there's thousnads of factior yet all you keep saying is that they keep ignoring them.
