IMO I think EA (the team working on the shift series) and Turn10 are working together behind the scene's somewhere. Their Shift and Forza games are so similar in graphical style (especially track graphics) you could almost say they are made by the same developer. It may be that Turn10 get a few Porsche licenses for helping EA out with the Shift series? who knows?
What? No. Maybe some people shouldn't search for excuses that Sony don't made a agreement with EA about a sub-license.

I want this beast in the game.

Please tell me you are joking about this :odd:

if PD would make an effort to talk with EA I think there's a bigger possibility to get Porsche, that's just my opinion :P

Not sure about that but, it sounds good. I think they need to get with Porsche and come to a financial agreement, of course I could be wrong. ( won't be the first time/won't be the last )

What it pretty much comes down to is negotiating a deal that both EA and Polyphony Digital (or Sony?) can agree with.

Why have a kitten when you can have a lion? AKA RUF.

Ever heard of the tuning shop? You can buy performance upgrades there if kitty is too slow.
Actually, the post above yours shows an example which isn't offered by Ruf and which I wouldn't call a kitty, it eats lions.

Having Porsches in the game would be amazing. But if PD can't make it happen, I will be ok. I'll be disappointed, but I'll live. If all we have is RUF in GT6, that's still pretty good. Even though we would be missing out on MANY magnificent machines, RUFs can still get us by. Just as long as they're premium though. If the RUFs in GT6 are standard, or any cars for that matter, I will be disappointed about that as well.

As someone hasn't noted its VW that solely owns porsche now so with VW a fairly big part in GT5, etc it maybe closer. After all its VW that has more "cash" and assets than Porsche. But it really boils down to who has the big peice of paper where a silly 3d model can go and where it can't. Funny how that works.

If only I was a fly on the wall when talks came about with Turn 10 getting Porsches. Someone at EA probably started splitting hairs about that.

Well as some may not know the same basic devlopment team (different company name 3 times over; Simbin, etc) that did the GTR series like GTR, GTR 2, Evo etc (one of the best racing series outside GranT world) ended up doing Shift series. Be nice if PD got some collaboration less the NFS physics influence. While I was enjoying playing GT when friend came over, i'd get my multiplayer rocks off in GTR.

GTR had a good competitive thing going having the FIA GT series license to themselves. All the GT3, RS and RSR Porsches with varieties of livery (teams).

Can remember back when in having a field 50+ of GT3 porsches was crazy traffic. Of course thats on PC and that stuff is only wet dreams in console world. Would load it back up if it wasn't for the decrepit graphics. So spoiled now lol

Anyhow still dreaming of this one day and still faithful to my Ruf's namely BTR's.

This is one of my only negative posting subject i might do in every thread i go,but no,Porsche will never be in GT6:lol:...PD loves RUF,and they'll never change it. They're predictable as ever...

They love Ruf that much they only included Standard versions....in fact the reason they only included Standard versions so far might be due to them hoping to obtain the Porsche license at some point and a large part of the modelling to be done for Ruf and Porsche on some models can be shared.
I do expect at least some Rufs in GT6 (and I assume all GT6 cars will be Premium) if they can't get a Porsche license but even when they'll get Porsche they don't have to remove Ruf (Forza has both).

Realistically, I get the feeling Porsche will never appear in GT just because I believe PD/Sony (whomever does the licensing) will never be willing to pay the asking price.

I agree with you. I also think that the fans would pay the asking price though. ( See sig ).

I agree with RACECAR. Someone wants to much money. Even Project Cars tried to get Porsche but couldn't. They got Ruf instead though which is almost as good.

When i was coming up we had car posters of our dream cars on our walls. These days kids can drive they're dream cars in virtual reality. I would be more than happy with a highly tuned Porsche (Ruf) over the stock version. if Porsche thinks that much of themselves that they would put they're fees so far out of reach that it's impossible to come to an agreement, I say forget them.

pCARS never "tried" to get Porsche, they always knew it was going to be beyond their budget.

I'm surprised that given SMS' partnership with EA in the past, they didn't try to pursue it.
Then again... It is EA we're talking about.

They didn't exactly end on friendly terms with EA, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have been given any preferential treatment.

so whats the deal for the refusal? is it money or because Porsche is afraid Polyphony wont do it right? I dont think polyphony will get it right though (based on some of the lame ass models in GT5) but if they just put premium RUFs in, then people would just forget about the whole deal.

Nobody has a greater GT/sports car racing heritage than Porche. It's not just about the road cars, more the race cars I think. Not being included in GT series is a big hole.

hahaha ohhh you.

You do know variety is possibly the biggest part of the game right?

Hmmmm no. As much as I love Porsche, just forget about it. It's EA's plan to up their asking price on those who wants Porsche to be featured in their game.

Just have RUF, they're not bad at all. In fact they're awesome to have instead. I would rather have EA die first to chase down Porsche and beat them up, for hiding from us in NFS all these years. They'll curl up in fear and share EVERY SINGLE latest model they made. I'll even shake my fist at them the next time they try to become exclusive to certain racing games again.
