Something to bear in mind regarding field size...we have an update coming tommorrow night. Theres no telling as to whether or not it will fix anything, but it would be worth taking a look at how rooms of 12 or more perform after this new update.

As for that lap I possibly led, I do remember Homeslice pushing me into the lead but I'm not sure whether or not RFLX didn't nip me at the line that lap. I know it was close.

You led lap 9. 👍

Not according to the electronic timing.

The picture is 6 seconds into the lap. You need to pause it just as they cross the line. The timer shows a .003 lead by mstall and he has the lead in photomode by a foot as well.

Look, even though I was running solo, I was still managing quali laps. Not sure about the best lap though, and presume that came in Lap 2 with a little help. Something to take from the night :ouch:

The photomode pic is going to be different from person to person. When cars pass a timing line, it puts up the time according to their view, then the game calculates the pings from the drivers and re-calculates the gap(when you cross the finish line at the end of a race, this is why your name goes to the top, then gets re-calculated to the correct position). Drop's photo is showing the corrected time. I think that's what we should go by, as that's what the race finish is decided by as well.

The gap is the gap at the line, it doesn't change until the cars cross the line again the next time by. The leader of the lap can be in eighth in turn one, and it still shows them as having no gap for the remainder of the lap.

EDIT - Look at the gaps of ACDCROCKS123 and homeslice and the gaps of JoeOfTheFire and dowhat13 for an example. The cars have changed positions since they crossed the line, but the gaps at the line still display from where they crossed the line, without regard to the current running order.

Yep, the changes between ACID and M-Stall changed but the times stayed the same 👍

OK, so just putting some thoughts and ideas down for the whole Sprint / Nationwide Team Selection. I quite like this draft variation so bear with me.

It starts as we discussed in The Sprint Cup. Winner of S2 picks his seat for S3, 2nd place then can either be persuaded (or ask) to join the Winner, or choose a different team. 3rd then has the same option etc until all 5 teams have a Team Owner.

Each Team Owner (in order of finishing position in S2), then can pick (ask) from the list of all possible entrants who want a ride in this Series to fill another seat. When that Team Owner has filled a seat, the next draft pick goes to the next in line.

When all the seats have been filled in the Sprint Cup, this leaves the remaining drivers to get a seat in the Nationwide. However, with the cars and teams being exactly the same for both leagues, the Team Owner of Sprint is also responsible for the Nationwide team of the same Make. They can choose either to be Team Owner of both Sprint and Nationwide, or one of their fellow Sprint Team mates can take the Nationwide responsibility.

The draft then continues in order to try and pick the drivers you want representing your Team, in a kind of grooming capacity. They then get the advantage of sharing setups, strategies, team work and working towards overall team supremecy.

Also, if a Sprint driver can't make a particular week, the Team Owner can promote one of the Nationwide drivers from the same team, to fill in for that week, giving them an opportunity to prove themselves etc.

Thoughts, comments, suggestions?

Sounds good Knelly. 👍 I think after we go down the points list to draft sprint cup drivers, we should continue down this list for the Nationwide draft.

Once the points list has been gone through, those without points that want to race could maybe race together in some short races without any tuning help from other drivers (to make it fair). My suggestion for these short races is 3 tracks: Daytona (25 laps), Indy (20 laps), and Monza No Chicane (10 laps). We'd then continue the draft with the points the drivers got from these 3 races. Another good thing about having these races is that it would give the drivers some experience going into the season and sprint cup team owners could possibly spot some new talent they want to drive for them.

Good news, the online issues have apparently been addressed/improved in the 2.04 update- "Improved the performance of online races to provide a better racing experience. However, please note that using voice chat by 12 or more players can reduce screen refresh intervals." 👍

I'm not sure they fixed anything. I was in a 15 player race last night, and the bug hit hard until we got down to 11 again. This was with mics on, and about half the cars were premiums. We'll have to see if a full room will work with mics disabled.

Dont Catch sarcasim much do ya?

Sarcasm can sometimes be hard to spot online, though I probably should have realised from your ":dopey:".

Either way, you've just revealed Furi's pit strategy to everyone. :sly:

EDIT: I'm joking of course.

Furi will be pitting 4 times.

Actually, his strategy is 5,10,15,20,25,30 and assuming he isn't 5 laps down, 35.:sly:

Sure that said something different a minute ago.

I will leave it up to Akmuq how often I pit.

Lol I actually meant I will be stopping three times in the middle of the track probably somewhere between the S section to pay back a few drivers  I am just kidding you guys. I'm over all the drama for the week until Saturday night when more starts :) too bad knellys going to miss out

High Speed Ring is a 3 stop race right? Pit on laps 10,20&30:dopey:

Get it? Pit stops :):):)

Akmuqs just let me down so I'm currently without a reserve driver.

I can help if you want.. 👍

EDIT: And I just found out today I'm not Irish, so I obviously won't let you down since I'm English like.. ;) :sly:

This is the official timer as the cars crossed finish line at the end of lap 9. Note that mstall has crossed the line first. Niop retook the lead further down the straightaway like drops picture shows.

It hasn't corrected for server response time yet. It takes about three seconds for the race monitor to calculate the actual times and placements on the track, and to correct the times in relation to one another.

Everyone's race monitor (and photomode) probably shows something a little different for the other drivers, until they have received the corrected data a few seconds after each lap is over and the data has been processed and returned from the host.

Have you ever finished a race online in second place, but it shows you at the top of the standings at first, only to correct itself to the proper standings a few seconds later? The same thing is happening here. You have to let the game process and correct the data first.
