yeah, good to see u've come to ur senses Veil, but i always knew u would never actually suicide, no matter how much u said u were gonna.

That's even worse. First begging for attention in his cowardly, pathetic way. Crying to get noticed with treats of suicide. WTF ? Why the hell didn't the mods step in then and there ? Not everybody can see through his lying bull****. I'm sure his posts will or has been read by young teens too.

Everybody knows that, when you announce to commit suicide such a long time in advance, it's nothing more than a childish way to get noticed.

It could have been funny when he'd announced his suicide because he couldn't get Britney Spears get laid. Then everybody would have realized that it was a practical joke. But this is a racing forum for crying out loud ! We talk about racing here all of the time. Doesn't anyone here see the dangers of coppycats, and where such behaviour could lead to ? Not every member here has the intellect to pop that balloon. Imagine other, slow players, who probably look up at Veil for his GT-driving capabilities, walk in his footsteps ? That's what mods are for. It's not their tasks to shoot the messenger, but to get douchbags like Veil in line again, and put an end to his cowardly charade.

I still can't understand why a nitwit like Veil can have a public forum to post the most disgusting and undermining things possible to get noticed. If something should be filtered, then it should be the lower than low standards he stands for.

But it's far easier to shoot the messenger. The mod's attacks on Max were totally uncalled for.

And it's that very same political correctness that i dispise so much. Tons of respect for Max E and mr P for standing firm in their believes.

Veil's thougths should indeed not be posted on a forum, especially on a forum dedicated to racing. Yet, he's been around for a while, he raced a lot with us in the past, and I know that he'll find on this forum people he can talk to and who will talk to him. I don't know how his real life looks like, if he has a family or close friends, but if what he needs is talking, then I do know that he has enough friends on this forum and it is perhaps the best place to talk. That's why I have let the discussion go on on this off-topic topic.

Max E. however, only dropped in to be rude with Veil's, and none of his posts was constructive. I'm always surprised to see that the strong disagreements about this issue come from people who actually never posted in the WRS. Why someone who has never posted here suddenly pops in out of nowhere to say he strongly disagree ?

That being said, I edited the political opinion you develop in your post because there is a special place to post that kind of information, in the Opinions forum. Call it censorship if you like, I call it moderation.
I'm also giving you a warning : check in the future that the information you post is relevant with the thread topic, or perhaps read the AUP regularly.

Perhaps you are right... to an extent... however much I or anyone else may sympathise with veilsidebr's predicament, this is most likely not the right place to be discussing it. The comments made by some members earlier, however, were clearly unacceptable and merited warnings, and warnings were duly given. How an individual reacts to a warning largely determines what action is subsequently taken, and despite being given the chance to step back from the brink, Max decided to persist in making a bad situation even worse.

I'm sorry you feel that Max was somehow being attacked by the moderating staff... but unfortunately he gave us no choice but to act. His comments, in the view of the moderating staff, were totally unacceptable... and not only was he aware of this fact himself (even before he was warned), he also made it quite clear that he didn't care either way if his comments were acceptable or not. The very fact that these are moderated boards, however, means quite simply that people cannot just say whatever the hell they feel like without any consequences whatsoever. You may say all you want about the freedom of speech, but for as long as you agreed to abide by the AUP (when you became a member), and agreed to join a moderated board, then you cannot be too upset when moderation is required. Max clearly over-stepped the bounds, thinking, wrongly, that his comments were somehow immune to moderation. They were not.

That's not moderation Flat-out. That's censorship. This whole thread is about the Veil-Max controversie. It's got nothing to do with the WRS anymore. And why am i reprimanded for not posting enough to your standards ? I'm longer member here at Planet than you. Come on man.

George Bush, democracy, muslims, terrorists and Iraq have absolutely nothing to do with :

• the WRS, which is supposed to be our main concern here ;
• veilsidebr's stuff that I'd like to see come to an end.

That's why I redirected him to the opinions forum where he can discuss the topic further with all the people who are interested in it.

I'm sorry to have been too quick in editing his initial post and to have spoiled all of you from reading his interesting point of view about both the american foreign policy and the freedom of speech given to extremist muslims in the UK.
