CLASSIC RACING - Sundays 17:00-19:00 BST - CONGRATULATIONS CHAMPIONS Flaco & Lex LathorFinished

Thanks!

Put me down for the GT350 in Inverness Green (I grew up driving a '67 Mustang that color.)

My old Cobra is Guardsman Blue with white stripes. I can paint or buy new if that color is over represented.

My Elan is French Blue, but I could change it.

I'm looking forward to this!

Your colours are fine.

Good luck Ryan and I'm glad you like Silverstone - we are using the Silverstone International layout as this is most appropriate for classic cars as it has been in use since 1949. Harsk and Flaco are also very fast - may the best driver win and all have an enjoyable meeting!

Wonderful! It really is the most accurate to the original layout. I once tried to convince Furi to use that version for the WSC and he STILL went with the new Grand Prix layout EVEN AFTER I did a comparison of all of the different layouts and showed him that the International version was the best and most the similar to the original version. :banghead: :grumpy:

Well Gents, I owe you an apology.
After an impromptu practice session, feeling like I was going to have a good race, and so looking forward to it I found myself without internet for round 15, about 6 hours later it came back online, I was using Hotel Wifi.

It looks like my internet connection is going to be pretty crummy for the next few weeks, as I am having some apartment issues, big issues, with my landlord. I doubt I will make it next week, but I will keep checking in.
I am a classic racer, It's all I do in GT. (my son makes fun of me)

That was unlucky @TheJohnG all seemed well on the practice session. Hope you sort your problems out.

Here's a few shots from the races - 29th June

You are welcome back anytime Racercad / TheJohnG - hopefully you'll be sorted soon.

Great photos IfAndOr - I don't know how you do it!

There's still a while till the start of the next series on 7th September- "Ford Ferrari Wars" and Historic BSCC, but some people may need to earn some extra credits for cars so I'm putting the thread link up here as a reminder (I'm still saving up for a Ford MK4):

Got the credits, got all the classic cars, but time is my worry. Lobster season opens in October, so we're out sailing the Channel Islands at least every other weekend, usually returning on Sunday evenings, until mid-March. Winter sailing is so much better in SoCal because the weekend warriors consider it "off season." Yeah, 70° F., 7 lobster per person per night from the anchorages (without even needing to dive--we just drink wine and haul hoop nets in our old geezer days), nightly meteor showers, and no office or car horns. I guess I need a 12-volt PS3 and G27 for the boat!

I have the desire to race with you, but don't want to let you down if I'm inconsistent. What is the reserve driver category? Do I qualify?

You have such a hard life mate - it must be purgatory all that sun, boating, lobsters and babes in bikinis! Back in blighty we're dodging the rain showers and the nearest we get to a lobster is when we look in the mirror after a rare sunny day!

At the moment there is a shortage of drivers so there is no problem in just turning up - keep an eye on GTPlanet for car details. If the room starts getting full we will introduce reserve drivers.

Hey, I didn't even whine about the hours of weekly maintenance! If you're ever in SoCal, we'll take you out and show you the tortures of a retired guy married to a working younger gal with a kid still in college. (It only sucks because It's hard to fit in Classic Racing Sundays). Otherwise, when said kid graduates and said wife retires, we'll be getting a bigger boat and sailing to you're rainy neck of the woods. But be forewarned, I'm originally from the rain capital of the world in Southeast Alaska, and I'll mock your piddly English drizzle. And mosquitos.

Disclaimer: The reader should imagine the scotch-induced, um, whatever non-obnoxiousness intended by this off topic comment. hic!

And a long cable trailing behind for your internet connection. You could tie some lobster pots to it.

It's all a matter of pressing a button. Well that and spending hours watching replays, stopping them, moving camera, adjusting settings, deciding I don't like it, starting again, winding/rewinding etcetc.

I thought I'd get the photos out early since I've got a busy GT6 week ahead...

Buy, setup and test a Corvette C1.
Setup and test the Cobra.
Run the Senna challenge to win the Lotus 97T- Then practice in it. (We are changing this week?)
Tweak the Elan a little.
And anything else that comes along!

I'll be fed up of Silverstone by the end of the week.

The sailing option sound good. ;)

We use the WSR, F3 for 6 weeks then the Lotus 97T for 6 weeks so we are not changing those cars.

Only changing cars in World Classics and Cobra Ferrari Wars Series.

Oh, Ok. Got that wrong then. That helps me out time wise. Thanks.

Sick, for the time being I would like to make my car choices. If the field becomes full, and/or I cannot make races we can make new arrangements. I plan on finding a way.
World Classics Rd 16-18, Jaguar. Rd 19-21 Pontiac GTO. Rd. 22-24 BMW 507.

It looks like I may just have to ease my way into the racing schedule. By September I think I will be a solid contender (by way of consistency as least).

Sick, thanks for the Classic Car enthusism, they just seem so cool to me.

World Classic Choices - Updated to include Rounds 16-18

I'm still waiting for car choices from Maximusmonster and RyanRacer - NB the only cars that are fully booked are the Shelby GT350 and Corvette C1. (If you have already sent me your car choices and I've missed them off - many apologies!)

Next Round is at Silverstone International - 12 lap races featuring one compulsory pitstop, which can be taken on the lap of your choice, but not the last lap (NB Tyre and fuel wear will be back on very fast as normal).

Like I said before I either miss the first two races or the last one; however the extra round for the WSR I can make.

OK - so you're WSR only.

1:06.340 is very fast round Silverstone International - I'm trying, but I find that such a difficult track.

It's quite technical now that I think of it. Perhaps setting your brakes 6 front 9 back. That's how mine are set up, but the car's brakes are so phenomenal I think I'll play around with 9/10 settings and max. They're just that good. :)

Can you alter the brake balance when the car is running untuned? I don't think I've tried it.

Hey Sick hello:D
Is it ok as i wrote earlier in thread to be in bmw 507 and corvette Road.. ?

Weekend is coming

You can, you are allowed to change the brake balance and tires. It's weird. Also check inbox.

Ryan is correct on this. I hadn't read his post and I just checked with an online room and when the tuning is set to prohibited you can still alter the brake balance to match your preference.

Because this track is so flat, featureless and difficult to learn the driving line will be optional for this Sunday's race.

Flaco signes contract with Ferrari last minute!

I will be in the 250GT for the Cobra Ferrari Wars now. The guys from Jag, where I was formerly said to be in, couldn´t keep up with the Ferrari offer! Naturally, I must be waiting for final confirmation from Bernie Sick-Cyilinderstone about the change, but I´m sure it will all run clear?
The car is still 'Rosso' so if I should change it please tell me so.

The Shelby Mustang I am forced to drive ( :grumpy: ) will be Matte Dark Silver and the Elan stays Yellow of course.

Please try out the Elan tune Lex kindly posted above, it is really great and if many of us use it, it could be good for some very very close racing tomorrow. :dopey:

Looking forward to it. See you guys out there at Silverstone.

P.S. oh and will we be using the Senna Karts again tomorrow? Which track, if so?
