View attachment 177002 View attachment 177003

Dear Racers - you will notice a new name on the car choice sheets - please welcome Waukazoo - hopefully he will enjoy himself on Sunday and become a regular racer.

Eiger Nordwand is a tight, fiddly track so please take extra care when overtaking and braking.

Please let me know your car choices for World Classics for rounds 16-18, 19-21 and 22-24 (NB I already have car choices from Harsk, Lex and Waukazoo). If you have already told me, but it is not recorded on the sheet - many apologies - please let me know again and I'll make sure the sheet is updated and posted after the meeting.

The championship points tables will be updated and posted after the next meeting.
I PMed you my car choices for the next rounds of World Classics, you must have missed it, so here again:
BTW: Hope this makes it a bit easier for you if I announce all my next cars at once.

Edit: I guess there is no way to change the Mustang for a Chevy?
Looks like I have to have a go in that Ford Mushroom ... I mean Mustang :D

Yep, best 5 days I had in a long time, camping at 'Brünnchen' and went to paddocks before start and end. We even met Polyphony people there, just hanging out at the Schulze Motorsport box waiting for Kaz to finish the last stint. The 24h race is an absolutely amazing experience we will surely repeat every year from now on.

Did you met the Kazunori Yamauchi? I see pictures with him...

Hello everyone. I'm new to the Sunday Clasics. Not much online racing experience, mostly do the seasonal time trials.

I must say, racing with everyone today at Eiger was much more enjoyable than I expected. I had a blast!
Hopfully I didn't ruin anyones race, Driving the 250 GTO was a handfull for me I just couldn't seem to keep it in check.
Other than that I enjoyed competing with everyone. Nice to get to use some of the fantastic cars I haven't used.

I think I may have even managed a third place finish in one race although I realize the grid was short a few or the regular drivers. Hey I'll take it, I may never see another.
I'm looking forward to next week.

Thanks to all for a great afternoon of racing.
Waukazoo

Thanks Waukazoo - you had a great debut. Hopefully people enjoy the cars even when they are challenging to drive. The results and race photos will be published shortly. Eiger is a fiddly track, but it is similar in nature to some of the tarmac rally stages on which many classic cars were driven and it always produces great photos. Until then enjoy a few more pictures from the AMOC meeting at Brands Hatch which I attended with Mook today.

Some great cars there Sick. I bet you were in automobile heaven? I expect the soundtrack was pretty loud.
Looks like good weather too.

Very nice pictures.

So did I get the fastest lap in the WSR?

I don't know - we don't have points for that, I just check the race results.

Special mention for Waukazoo - a fine 6th in his debut online championship race driving a Corvette C2 Coupe.

The win belonged to Lex, but in seeking a close finish for the photos he lost the race by a few hundredths of a second. Special mention for a fine third place for Flaco driving the heavier and slower Corvette C2 Race Car.

Thanks IfAndOr - the cars sounded good, but were running silencers which allows the Grand Prix circuit to be used on more days. Because of the proximity of the houses to the GP loop there are only a small number of "noisy" days allowed per year. Anyone who hasn't been to an AMOC event (Aston Martin Owners Club) they have a truly fantastic variety of cars and interesting classes from pre WW2 up to modern cars which compete in the intermarque races - Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin etc.

Above, Nick Mountford the driver of the Triumph TR4 was a great guy - he had Mook's daughter sit in the car and help him check the steering. Look at the Guards Trophy sticker - our Cobra Ferrari Wars championship is based on the Guards International Trophy entry for Brands Hatch in 1963 and the race authorities have coincidentally launched a new Guards Trophy for cars from that period.

Sadly I didn't get any photos of the five Cobra's that were competing or the fabulously rare polished aluminium Iso race car, but hopefully Mook has got those covered.

It looks like I'll be free for the Silverstone meet on July 6 if you have room for another driver. If so, what cars should I prepare?

World Classics - Shelby GT350 or Pontiac Tempest GTO Le Mans at 315bhp and 1160kg
Cobra Ferrari Wars - Shelby Cobra at 460bhp and 902kg
One Make Series - 1962 Lotus Elan at 185bhp and 600kg
Senna Tribute - WSR, F3 untuned

Looking forward to racing with you again.

(Warning: Extremely long post)I'll be able to do the WSR and hopefully get my first victory in an online series, as the much flatter Silverstone will significantly reduce the chances of the ground effects suddenly and violently revolting against the driver, which happened to me a bunch of times yesterday and ultimately prevented me from getting my first victory, though that one lap after the one where I lost a couple positions and the lead to LexLathor was quite quick(1:05.XXX :scared:). Thankfully I am both much better and much more comfortable at Silverstone then I am at Eiger, and the reduced likelihood of suddenly enraging the ground effects will allow me to push much harder and much more comfortably around there without the deathly fear of making the ground effects turn into "oversteer effects." That being said, your domination of this series LexLathor and IfAndOr is over! :mischievous: :sly: :P ;)

Thanks!

Put me down for the GT350 in Inverness Green (I grew up driving a '67 Mustang that color.)

My old Cobra is Guardsman Blue with white stripes. I can paint or buy new if that color is over represented.

My Elan is French Blue, but I could change it.

I'm looking forward to this!

Good luck Ryan and I'm glad you like Silverstone - we are using the Silverstone International layout as this is most appropriate for classic cars as it has been in use since 1949. Harsk and Flaco are also very fast - may the best driver win and all have an enjoyable meeting!
