CLASSIC RACING - Sundays 17:00-19:00 BST - CONGRATULATIONS CHAMPIONS Flaco & Lex LathorFinished

Hi Sick and fellow racer's car choices from Maximusmonster bmw 507 and the Jaguar.See you all on track Max.

Oh, well thats too bad. Since we do Silverstone, I was hoping for a kart race at Stowe.
Stowe and karts - good idea. Maybe we can fit a couple of short races in at the end of the meeting.

WSR 1.06.724 - it will go flat out through the first two corners!

Thanks for sharing the Elan setup Lex. Great grip.

Great, this week I can change from the somewhat twitchy Ferrari 250gt. Oh hang on, I've got the C2 race car!

Yes, Stowe and Karts are definetly a good idea.

I'm glad that I can get out of Jaguar and Ferrari.... I got also the C2 Race Car!

Thanks for settings Lex!

I don't know if I'll make it to meeting, I'll try my best...

Flaco signes contract with Ferrari last minute!

I will be in the 250GT for the Cobra Ferrari Wars now. The guys from Jag, where I was formerly said to be in, couldn´t keep up with the Ferrari offer! Naturally, I must be waiting for final confirmation from Bernie Sick-Cyilinderstone about the change, but I´m sure it will all run clear?
The car is still 'Rosso' so if I should change it please tell me so.

The Shelby Mustang I am forced to drive ( :grumpy: ) will be Matte Dark Silver and the Elan stays Yellow of course.

Please try out the Elan tune Lex kindly posted above, it is really great and if many of us use it, it could be good for some very very close racing tomorrow. :dopey:

Looking forward to it. See you guys out there at Silverstone.

P.S. oh and will we be using the Senna Karts again tomorrow? Which track, if so?

Hi Flaco - Yes it is fine to switch to the Ferrari 250 GT.

You are doing the same as Graham Hill in 1963 when he was entered in the programme for an E Type at Brands Hatch, but switched to a Ferrari.

Stowe is a good idea for Karts - another good track for karts is Willow Springs, Streets of Willow. We will try the karts again later on - maybe as the final race of the championship. They are not universally popular, but I know a few of you love your karts!

I like Karts. I think that we could race the Gran Turismo Kart 100 (all versions), 125 (all versions), Jr. and the Red Bull Kart with Ayrton Senna's DAP Kart. What do you think?

Motor City Hami has a great setup for the C2 RC. Look it up, it helped me a lot.

Oh my God. Seriously? Hahaha, that´s just amazing as I had no idea ... hope I can give him a good tribute on the track, although tbh, I also have no idea how he ended up back in ´63. I guess it´s best for me to stay unknowing untill the end of the meeting today. Maybe tell me after.

P.S. Oh but Sick, you could tell me what colour Grahams Ferrari was. :)

Unfortunately not much information has survived, but there seemed to be some car swapping going on for some reason.

Graham Hill was entered to drive a Jaguar E Type Lightweight by John Coombs which he qualified 7th in 1:49.400. That car did not start.

Graham raced the Ferrari 250 GTO entered for Jack Sears by Maranello Concessionaires - sadly Graham's result is unknown and the colour of the car is also unknown, but red would be my guess as it was a Maranello entered car.

"Gentleman" Jack Sears raced the Ferrari 250 GTO entered for Mike Salmon by John Coombs and finished 5th overall (amongst all the prototypes) and 1st in the GT+2.5 class - that car was painted white. Roy Salvadori was 6th in an Aston Martin and David "Pipes" Piper was 7th in a Ferrari 250 GTO - his cars were often medium green.

It seems odd today that a team would enter both Jaguars and Ferraris like the John Coombs team and then swap cars and drivers with the Maranello team which as the importer of Ferraris to the UK was probably the closest thing to a works team, but arrangements were a lot more relaxed in those days.

Sick, is there anything that you don't know about automobile history?!

But if you didn't know it, you wouldn't know that you didn't know it. :dunce:

Flaco - I'm using the MCH tune and you're right it does help a lot.

If - I can't take credit for that information. I did some research before we started the "Cobra Ferrari Wars" but most of that information comes from this site.

Sorry everyone for what I said in the lobby. My burning desire for my maiden victory in an Online Racing Series on :gtplanet: caused me to blow up and say those things when a lag spike caused me to lose my concentration and spin out in a matter of half a second. I will continue to race in this series.

Did you say bad words in the lobby?

Don´t worry, many of us know this situation. It takes time and practice. Your fastest lap time remained unbeaten thruout the race, you are fast! Just need that bit more experience to get more calm and comfortable with the cars during races. You´ll get there soon, just hang on in there!

I'm currently still learning to win without cutting chicane or divebombing. I won without them a few times but in terms when a driver wants to overtake in a corner, my heart says to not open the space otherwise he can overtake....

You know that the better way mostly is to give the space but make him use a weird line so you can counterattack right away. But if it doesn´t help and he is just faster, you´ve got to give in.

Nope :P Here's what I said: i'm sick of this crap. i'm out of this series. (ryan428scj has left the room)
You shouldn't have told that. Bad languages or offences aren't allowed on the lobby... But for the other side, you're right: Because I know that you're trying your best to get your first victory. All you need to do is to do more practice and define your pit strategy which can work. I'll send you the tunes by PM...

Yes. But I'll tell you a little story: It was in Trial Mountain. I was in 2nd place. So, I was in left side and he was right side. I got in splistream, and I went to left side to overtake him. But unfortnately, I noticed that I was going to do the divebomb on him and force him to brake inside of the corner... To not be penalized and not having trouble, I decided to slow down and keep on 2nd place. You know, if I would do overtake, Lex would be angry and would complain (somebody divebombed on me...). And I probably could be disqualiffied.

Did Sick Cylinder get angry after Ryan told that he was sick of the series?

Daytona Road 1:55.495 I think I might have a chance! There aren't very many places on the track where the horrible devilish demon-possessed ground effects actually decide they want to throw a fit! And in the areas that do cause them to go berserk it seems to be quite predictable and manageable, and can easily be countered by turning in smoothly and accelerating out smoothly. This might finally be my chance!

When I wrote the c-word I mean I wrote the c-word. If I would have cussed I would have put 🤬. And I try not to do that and rarely do because I'm a Christian. Also thanks Flaco for the sig I'll copy it down right now 👍

Different situations require different choices of what to do, you chose the save way and that is basically what I meant.

I don´t believe Sick could ever get angry about anything.

He did say that reading the message caused him to spin out! :( That was his excuse anyway.

You've got to remember that's it's not the winning, it's the taking part. Well that's what I tell myself anyway. :D

I must disagree with you here, we all like to win. Although, if I take as example todays Cobra v. Ferrari part, chasing those Cobras and even being capable of getting close to at least one of them (for a while) was almost a better a experience than winning a race by a 12sec. margin.

We sure do. It's just that I rarely get a win - so I console myself with the just taking part. 👍

I enjoyed the races today up until the pitstops. After them I generally had no one to race with.

Here's a picture of Ryan having his "incident"...

And here's me heading towards this incident. Which ways he going. Brake, brake, oh to late - crunch!

And me and Sick flat out down the straight..
