CLASSIC RACING - Sundays 17:00-19:00 BST - CONGRATULATIONS CHAMPIONS Flaco & Lex LathorFinished

We sure do. It's just that I rarely get a win - so I console myself with the just taking part. đź‘Ť

I enjoyed the races today up until the pitstops. After them I generally had no one to race with.

Here's a picture of Ryan having his "incident"...
View attachment 181748

And here's me heading towards this incident. Which ways he going. Brake, brake, oh to late - crunch!View attachment 181751
And me and Sick flat out down the straight..View attachment 181750

What about the parts where I wasn't having my "incident?" how about a picture of me somewhere on my fastest lap? :dopey:

Great pictures IfAndOr - but they really highlight that PD should give all the cars the option of a changeable number - it looks ridiculous when you do a one make race having all the cars display the same race number.

No I didn't get angry. I was disappointed because Ryan left the room after a couple of spins and it's now 4 starts and 4 DNF's. Ryan is a fast enough racer that even after a spin or two he should still be able to recover and score good points. Sometimes working your way back after an off can be very satisfying. I think Ryan should try to finish the next one regardless of what happens - afterall sometimes the leaders tangle or make a mistake and you go from a podium to a win unexpectedly - today in WSBK Race 2 Melandri and Guintoli tangled so we had a change of second and third.

I had two spins - one when I tried a new line through the first corner - lesson learned - never try new things during a race, just do what you know works and save the experiments for practise. The other spin was when the message came up that the leader had one lap to go - that caused Ryan's message to be re-displayed so I read it again, missed the braking point and span off.

Good racing today and great to see Rehdogg15 back on track - I hope he can join us regularly.

Really enjoyed our race meeting at Silverstone International.
The meet started off with a little bit of internet confusion, and some drivers not showing on the track.
The internet/PSN decided I should not take part in the Cobra Ferrari Wars which I was really looking forward to I spent a whole week tuning that Cobra.

I dive-bombed our most gracious host (Sick_Cylinder) at the entry to club corner in my Elan. I feathered the brake and luckily didn't push him off of the track, but is was closer than he knows, plus it cost him a good second. I also had a little run in with Smiley I believe, in the F3 race. I'm not sure what happened, there is a very fine line at the limit of those cars, and I crossed it more than once. Sorry for that guys, I need practice with close driving and that can be hard to come by when your slower like me.

Overall, 3 race finishes and one DNS, no first turn pileups, and I had fun. It could have been worse.
I am temporarily using a Wifi connection and I want to say that if I am causing lag, or my car is jumpy please let me know. I don't want to be 'that guy'.

Thanks to all of you.

You do have some lag but it´s not dramatic because it´s not all the time. Been watching replays from your perspective and overall the little bit of lagging is nothing to be concerned with. That´s at least IMO and for my part, it might look better or worse in other peoples replays. Of course a wired connection to your PS3 would be better, but it sounded like you are aware of that.

Still can´t believe I´m racing a Ford and on top of that I even win in it ...
I was looking back (I use hood cam) pretty often and when I saw the Corvette and the Pontiac I thought "come on guys, try harder, you should win". Yup, I am that much of a GM fanboy.

Round 17 from Daytona Road - Important Info for Racers

In order to improve photo opportunities for IfAndOr and also add variety for racers, the first two races of the programme will feature a night time element - the track is floodlit, but the driving line will be available to those who want to use it. The final two races will be in normal daylight.

Race1: World Classics - day to night transition.

Race 2: Cobra Ferrari Wars: night to day transition.

Race 3: One Make Series - Lotus Elan - normal daytime.

Race 4: Senna Tribute - WSR, F3 - normal daytime.

I'll try my best to participate in Daytona... Because I don't know how many time PS3 will last... It might turn off when I race...

Because the startline is on the banking at Daytona it would make sense to have a rolling start, but during testing I have not been able to select either of the rolling start options.

Important - this means racers must start on half throttle - if you get any wheelspin at the start your car will slide sideways and immediately crash into the wall. Please, please take extra care at the start of the races.

We will be trying out the endurance race option with it set to 15 minutes for the four races.

I always start with full throttle.

Was running with Flaco this morning, and if you are not familiar with the pit stop you should give it a couple of test runs before racing, it's easy to mess up. I thought I had a good handle on this track, until he put down a fast lap. Oh boy, better get those Cobra's running.
See you all in about 12 hours.

Hey Sick I would just like to tell you that I have made a new account with my ID being GTP_Bullit. I'll send you an FR tommorow. :) Which one I will show up in, I do not yet know.

Thanks Ryan / Bullit - when you know which one you will use I will need to delete the other from my friends list as it is normally at or near the maximum number.

Thanks for tip re pit stop TheJohnG - I haven't tried to pit yet, but will do so shortly.

Yeah I found this out. It's not so straight forward as you would think. And there are actually two exits that you can use to leave the pits. Keeping to the left longer exit might be best when other cars are approaching.

Nothing. What happened to GTP_Bullit? I mispelt it. :(
If you misplet it, then you won't go to meeting of today? Unfortunately, I won't be able to go to Daytona today. I'm giving myself a break from PS3. Maybe in next round.

If is because I'm willing to start in full throttle but the people may start complaining and say: "This guy is guilty by causing an accident", and I don't want to have problems with you guys.

I'll just show up in my regular profile.

Sorry, for some reason whenever I race with you I am suddenly unable to drive. I guess I'm just not good enough to race with you.

Good event gang, I think I have points! That Cobra is really fast, as long as you don't use the gas, or the brakes.
A little more PSN trouble but the two races I did get to participate in were great. Thanks Sick, and the rest, I really enjoy the league. Nice place to be.
'till next week. (or sooner)

Cracking meeting and no problems at the start - everyone was careful, but come on PD why can't we use the rolling start option for banked tracks like Daytona so we don't have to baby the cars off the line?

But I haven't been there!

Seriously; I just fall apart. Maybe it's because I actually have a chance of winning. That's my huge problem. I will take a break from racing in this series and come back once I have improved my skills. Sure, I may be fast in a time trial, but if you can't make it count in the real race then you just don't have what it takes to be racing driver.
