Four races in, every single one has been bad. Laguna race 1 started 6th, hooked the dirt on the first lap and spun off course. Somehow put my head down and through the unfortunate events of others was able to get back to 6th. 2nd race, series of events ended up with me at the rear of the field and after a spin I decided not to continue.

Blue Moon race 1 t-boned Sand after he spun across the track in front of me. After I got power back from the damage, crashed on my own pushing too hard trying to catch up. Again through other's unfortunate events I managed to finish 10th. 2nd race my teammate of all people made a mistake and chain reaction ended with me in the wall with another car and in dead last. Managed to catch some of the pack where passing was impossible because people can't learn to let people go that catch up to them. Fighting for positions does nothing but slow you down, and it's a great way to ruin a race early on. After getting hung up and passed a couple times, the curb on the inside exiting the oval grabbed a hold of the car and threw me into the wall. You can guess at that point I was done, and I left.

Sorry I'm just not used to running mid pack or worse. Been playing this game a long time and that very rarely happens. It's just frustrating. I'll give it one more round and if my luck stays the same then I'm out. It doesn't help that, for me, the handling of the car in lobbies so far has been terrible and not the way it feels in single player.
maybe try making the car more understeery. i saw you slinding a lot yesterday

I want to thank the couple of you fellas who stuck around post race to chat and reinforce the overall commitment for these series. While they are challenging and gt7 has presented challenges, the commitment from everyone in these series shows how strong the interest is for this type of racing. I personally have seen my interest on a low the last few weeks with the state of lobbies and their on/off stability, and with family and work soaking up more time windows, it's been harder to "force" myself to practice and be more prepared for these series. And, what bits if time I do have, I have been setting it aside to organize and keep the wheels behind the scenes moving.

So on that note, I am initiating a small Summer Break in the racing action to get my interest and head back into the racing, and to hopefully allow PD some time to get these lobbies better suited for our needs. Scoring for our most recent events will be out in the next week or so along with post race reports. From there, we will resume racing on July 8th for Event #10 of the Porsche series at Monza, and then July 22nd for Event #3 of the Michelin Pilot series at Trial Mountain.

For a change of scenery, I will probably run a few "for fun" track day events on the original Assetto Corsa on Friday nights that I have available during the break from official racing. For anyone interested, AC Ultimate Edition which includes all downloadable content is available for around $7.99 (I think). Catch some of you then, and the rest of you in July.

@R1600Turbo srry second race, definitely not my attention lap one I was not even sure that was my fault at the moment or I would of waited for u because room
Was more twitchy for me second race but I was around more cars too second race.

Hearing what others saw replay was my fault,
First race when u caught me I let u pass hoping to learn little from you

On the give an take I agree sometimes too much battling can cost more time, one driver I noticed had patience on me so I let him pass and his future battle up front helped me gain couple positions.

I feel bad u helped me with livery’s and tune, I’ll have too try different tune car was too lose for me, thinking part of it was the RM tires.

I watched all the incidents from both races… with your incident… even though you got a little loose you didn't hit him hard at all… it seemed like when he hit the bank his TC might of also messed him up throwing the car off Balance.. it seemed like a combination of both. You didn’t all out hit him hard.

It plows on entry and slides on exit. I have to run max downforce to keep it in line which I'm sure is just killing my straightaway speed.
I watched you both races and you definitely have the pace… you just seem to get unlucky in certain race situations. It’s a long season bro you have plenty of time to bounce back! 💪🏾

Can we change car and if not no worries
Not thinking me and R1600 are good match for teammates, he’s fast and more perfect and I’m less pace and not perfect.

Car change is allowed, bit only once for the season, and will require a new time trial. As for the team aspect, you guys don't need to be in the same car to be on the same team. Keep me posted on your car choice when you decide.

I was running mid to high 10's in the first race for a bit trying to catch up to you and the gap never really came down. I think you got held up which allowed me to catch up. This car is just really finicky at 11/10 pace.

Send me your settings and specs on PSN.
Can send on PSN if needed but sharing here in case anyone else is curious.

I probably did a full race worth of laps tonight in a lobby just tweaking the car a little here, a little there, and at the end was rather happy with the car. Whether or not happy equals speed I do not know. But its comfortable. Ran a high 55 at one point but it felt twitchy so made more changes and ended up with a race pace in the 56's.

Starting to figure out the diff settings which seem to really affect the understeer. Made some swings between race 1 and race 2 and it got better, went from being in the low 1:11s in the 1st race to being able to consistently run mid to high 1:10s in race 2. Car still isn’t handling how I would like and it really irritates me how I can’t race near other cars because it won’t turn, plus the apparent lag issues.

Felt bad for what happened with Nova in race 1 but not much I could’ve done different, was as low on the track as I could’ve been on my screen at least, I’m sure the game thought I was somewhere else. The Harry and Duc thing they were like 10 car lengths behind me when they crashed so once again the game probably thought I was somewhere else.

Race 2 the caution completely destroyed my race. Felt good being latched onto the back of X-Rad and was going to just follow him for the whole race since he would be going to the front, probably going to get a top 5 finish, but then the restart came. I took my earpiece out during that race so I had no idea when the restart was going to be, I thought we were going to go back around to the start/finish. Got caught out on the restart, got taken out by a dive bomb a few corners later, tried to recover but made a stupid mistake and took out Valex and myself, then just gave up and didn’t contest the rest of the race really since I didn’t want to affect anyone else and went to the back. Oh well.

I’m still content with the car’s BOP in relation to everyone else, just getting closer to figuring out the handling, should be almost competitive for the podium when that happens and the servers are less of a disaster. Sucks because I haven’t had any issues in sport mode.

ill get the car and try to upgrade your tune if i can. idk much about tuning but i usually touch things that make sense and then i see if it made it faster or slower.

in what conditions did you do the testing? (SO1, SO2, etc.)

I tried this tune at Blue moon and after plowing right into the wall at turn 1 I put all of the front wing back in it. Its not a terrible driving car its just slow, a brief run at your spec put me at 1:11.8. I'll go back to it again tomorrow and see if I can get the Caroline squat out of it.

Forgot to mention I have the transmission set up to be a 6-speed. Hence the top speed number. You have to set top speed to max, slide 1st and 2nd gear all the way to the left, set 4 through 6 gears, then I think set the final drive and return to set 1 & 2.

A well deserved break. Thank you for your continued labor in the face of all this lobby BS.

This is a perfect example. I don't dispute anything you say or saw on track. Below is a picture of my replay showing less than a car length between the two of us. Maybe 4-5 car lengths from @bloodyboyblue to @Harry Rowley.

I knew Harry had closed up into T1 but was focused on the rapidly lagging car in front. Here is what my replay showed for our car speeds going into the corner prior to the incident. Please note this is all happening within less than 0.5 seconds.

At this point Harry is now alongside but I'm watching what's happening in front and praying I'm not going to get lag bumped into the wall or into Harry. Then I turned into Harry.

I would like to give this a try. Searched in PS store but want to make sure I'm getting the right thing. Can someone point me to the right package?

I would go back to the 9 speed box @ 270 and a turned on the anti lag system.

Hey Duc, great analysis, and thanks for the kind words.
As for AC, search Assetto Corsa and the Ultimate Edition is the first to pop up. Didn't realize they had it priced back up to $39.99. May want to wait for the next PS store sale to pick it up. They usually have it priced around $7.99 to 19.99 depending on the sale. Even at that price, the title in its complete form with all DL content is well worth the price of entry at to have in the library.

I was running 10's for a bit in race 1 trying to catch up to the field. It was always on edge but it could be done. Curious how your tune compares to my current one at Trial Mountain.

As far as the trans goes, I did it that way to simulate a real life setup available from Quaife so I'd like to keep it.

Awesome stuff fellas. Great seeing the opponent competitors working to help out. Great group of racers.

I will try the tranny trick and see how it goes. The method you posted was 👍

i dont think they will fix these issues in the upcoming weeks tbh...
i agree that the state of gt7 is pretty poor right now but i think that the combination of the lag issues and the track made it pretty hard to have a good clean race. it is a difficult track that most of us arent veey familiar with and it is a challenge to overtake in almost all turns.
Take for example the first round of the porsche gt3 and gt4 challenge series. Spa, an easy track to have battles, we had some lag but it provided decent racing, and i think it was because of the combination, same with the gt4s in laguna seca, it is more of a challenge to overtake arround there but there are obvious overtaking points.
Arround blue moon infield A every overtake could lead to a big crash if not done to perfection, and sum that with the current gt7 lag issues...

Also im not blaming this on Nova or anyone, since he probably didnt know what the state of GT7 was gonna be like when this blue moon race arrived.

Pre-Race Driver Briefing
Friday, June 10th, 2022

at 9pm est
Tonight, we are at the first of two Speedways on the schedule this season. Big Horsepower, the right Aero tuning, and the right p/w ratio tune will be key to taking the podium. Also, drafting or a good strategy with your teammate could go along way in soaking up any deficiencies in pace. Going to be a fun night of racing.
As is always mentioned, consistency and minimal mmistakes tend to take the podium places. Be patient and aware of traffic and your braking points...especially at Turn 1 in the opening laps, and lets have a good clean event.

A few quick reminders to all drivers attending:
*Please be patient in high traffic, especially in the opening laps.
**Respect the space of the drivers around you, and make every effort to race as clean as possible.
***Race hard, Race consistent, and race fair.

Let's continue to showcase the clean and competitive racing that Snail has always been known for.

Track Boundaries:
Keep 2 wheels within the white line where curbing is not present, or on the curbs where they are present.

Rolling Start Reference Point
Front row drivers may accelerate at the Start/Finish line

We will run a complete formation lap for this event.
Race 1 will start a formation lap from the grid in order.
-Drivers may warm tires up to the final corner. After final corner, all drivers should form up into 2x2 formation. Front row will hold at 50 mph up to the start/ finish line.

Race 2: The Race will be started with everyone on the grid. No one is to move from the line until called. Race director will call each driver, in order, and direct odd and even places to their respective side for formation. When called, drivers should form up in order as instructed on the front straight. Once the order is set, the Race Director will give the all clear, and the formation lap will begin and proceed for the same as Race 1.

At least now I’ve got time to prep for next round! 🤷🏻‍♂️
