A bit late but this car, a BAC Mono, was anounced to be in GRID2 on their facebook page, for those not boycoting it..

Looks pretty crazy would hopefully be as fun to race as the 211 was in GRID.

Think i'd rather drive it in Project CARS or Asseto Corsa when they're out.

Nice to see some new gameplay footage. Can't really say anything about the Chicago vid, but California Coast, could it be the return of the Touge races with a new location? Who knows.

That final corner at Chicago is the only reason why I don't think I'll be purchasing GRID 2. I'm not the type for driving a race car sideways at 70 mp/h, around a corner that would be 50-60 mp/h in a real Formula 1 car. :grumpy:

I'd still like to ask if anyone would prefer a more realistic physics system? Why not just take the Codemasters games, all together, and put them together, to create a decent physics system to start? I hated the physics. The gameplay itself was addicting, but, I don't want to skid around every corner.

And, the best thing, was that the AI was actually as fast as me, or faster! Was awesome!

See, skidding around every corner is one of the many unrealistic things about Grid. So you think that you want it less realistic to avoid that, but actually making it more or less realistic can fix that. People like realism because it's more rewarding. You feel like you're actually learning something, and because of that, going through the usual grind of learning a new racing games handling isn't a grind at all. Plus, I feel realistic games have ten fold the amount of replayability because like I said, it's just so much more rewarding/meaningful.

Once you get into it, the supposed "fun" racing games actually seem pointless. Every car has the same feel, pretty much if you played an arcade racer once you've played it a thousand times. A lot of people like the whole pick up and play aspect, but I feel like that will just make it get old fast. Some people also like the more video game aspects of those games, but personally, that isn't my thing.

When each car feels different you just start to appreciate them that much more, and you'll even take them for a spin just to test them out. That for me is one of the biggest reasons why realism is the best thing in racing games.

If you're looking just to tweak and look at cars or whatever, yea you may not want realism, but if you want to get into racing, I'd think you'd like sims after a short period of time

Most true statement I found.

I liked some arcade games for their special features (like PGR3 for its awesome "Route creator" or GRID for the crashes/immersion) but I prefer sims (why I'm on GTPlanet.)

Certainly, I'd like a GRID 2 with more realistic physics. I mean, why not just change the way that GRID's physics were played out, and not change the AI etc.?

GRID had great AI and great racing, but, I got so tired of skidding FF cars sideways, and completely drifting AWD Nissan Skylines way sideways. It's inexplicable how little time they spent driving the cars...

But, indeed, I guess some kids like feeling like racing drivers without learning anything about racing.

:( I've been karting since I was 10, and there isn't a racing game that offers AI intelligent enough to keep pace, and actually make mistakes etc., like GRID, with rFactor/iRacing/GT5 physics.

None of what we've seen of GRID 2 before excited me the slightliest. Neither does it now. I know I shoudn't be bitching about cockpit view, but honestly, it would've helped in this case.

I hope we'll hear of Touring and LMP cars in the near future and more disciplines. It's not looking very good thus far - to me that is.

I found this. And for some reason it looks fun. Not there ill be playing Grid 2, for me I'm more into WRC 3 but this looks fun.

It's sad how Codemasters have gone from producing pretty good, fairly realistic BTCC/WTCC & rally games to the totally arcade style DIRT and GRID games.

Here's another one:

Well, it looks like it could be a fun arcade racer, the constant drifting looks annoying though. One thing I really like: No stupid boost!

EDIT: Oh, the videos were posted on page 20 already, sorry.

The hood view doesnt even have you sitting in the right place. To me it looks like its slightly right of center. This game just doesnt look right to me. They couldnt even take the time to get the views they decided to use correct.

Really disappointed in Codies. They have been taking big steps backwards, and this drifting thing is one of them. Really looks like it will ruin the game for me.

Drifting sucks.

I'm not even thinking about getting it, just posting this for whoever is interested

-No cockpit mode
-Non-realistic physics
-that little curb bounce in the Corvette video, which shows the car heading straight to the outside wall, because it took a curb...

It's not looking good. I'm not buying this game. As seen above, in the quotes, I don't think many will.

Maybe Roger said it right, and they will go out of business for this garbage.

I think it will turn out pretty good hopefully, can't get bad as gt5

GT5 > GRID. :grumpy: I don't care what you say.

GT5 gave us a chance at recreating realistic racing, and that made it fun. GRID 2's just going to throw us into a car, on a track, and have us skid about.

Doesn't look promising, though, really, considering the game it reminds me of.

Gt5 was good at first but now it's seasonal event one after another, I was hoping for more instead of a revamp of gt4, hopefully gt6 is good but as far as I see it ill buy this and give it a ago till gt6 or something better comes out, but I think it will be a good game despite all the people putting it Down and not having cockpit.
