The more gameplay I see of it, the less I want to drive it. The handling and AI looks totally rubbish, look at that Touring car race... Horrible.

I'm in the same boat as you. I really, really want to and trying to like this game. Sure, graphics are looking good and I personally don't mind the handling at all, but the rest still doesn't assure me of it being anywhere as good as the original GRID. Exceptionally few things has piqued my interest so far.

Even though I havent played it, this game looks really disappointing. I used to love codemasters and the work they did. Part of me wants to say that all the drifting and powerslides we see may not be the final physics model. The other part of me says ignore this game.

What about the AI? They're sliding just as much as the player which suggests it's a physics thing.

There's a point where I can't help but wonder if the guy driving is even trying to nail these corners without Sliding.

Eh... I think it was a decent compromise between something approaching sim, and a pure arcade racer. I've certainly found the physics in other arcade titles to be lacking, comparatively.

Curious about this title; I still think the first one is one of the prettiest looking racing games I've ever seen.

I might treat myself to Grid 2 with the same attitude I had towards a movie like, I dont know, Iron Man. But by god if Grid 2 doesnt support the t500 I will fly to France and personally saw the legs off the Eiffel Tower.

I'm starting to think Codemasters might be about to release a very very good arcade racer...

What looked stupid *ahem liveroutes* on first demonstration now seems to make sense. I think at first people were thinking from the perspective of the first GRID, and were disappointed not to see the things they loved about the first return. (Le Mans and so on)

But now I realise that they're trying to make a completely new game, not an improved version of the first. I think that takes a bit of courage, and I think this game could possibly be pretty good fun. COULD. POSSIBLY.

I spent almost 2 hours reading about Grid 2 from the horses mouth tonight, for the first time. No cockpit view was a decision made for very sane reasons, and it allowed for advantages elsewhere. There will be NO/zero driving aids included in Grid 2 (!) (good on them!)
For me personally I realized the chase cam view of the gameplay videos distorts the experience of driving; for more than 14yrs Ive only ever used a wheel, and never with a chase cam view. Even watching chase cam replays has all the attraction of dental work, to me.

Yeah RaceNet was OK for me, probably because it didn't remind you every ten seconds about how good your friends are in comparison to you

If the whole thing stays at the level it was in Showdown, good, I just don't want it to make everything a competition like it is in MW2012.

Knowing how codemasters operates these days, they will promote the game everywhere they can but once the game releases and there are problems with it you don't hear a peep.

But I hope grid 2 is a good game with only minor problems. However from what I have seen its not for me.
