Will this game have any of the old stuff like picking a co-driver, racing for other teams and picking sponsors from grid 1?

I searched but did not find an answer, so i'm assuming no?

So far i like what i see! It seems something fun to play :)

Since someone of Codies is in here, make a proper BTCC game guys :) It's really impossible that i still need to play Toca2 as a psone game ;)

It has a livery editor, if that's what you mean. I've only managed to catch one or two live streams so I'm probably wrong :boggled:

So, I stumbled upon this...

Because there is drifting in the game, its bad?

I don't understand.

I don't either. I just hope it's the same way it was in the first GRID, loved drifting. But I feel that video shows that points are... in abundance.

Now I have. And yes! Matchmaking! Hopefully it works well. And I see a time attack game mode, which ought to be fun as long as there won't be any ghosties running about on the track.

Dirty racers can race with dirty racers and clean with clean with clean. Seems very interesting, well atleast to me it does.

Am I alone thinking how awkward, lame and bad the drift mode looks/seems to have have become?

No you are not alone. For me drifting in NFS: Shift was unnecessary and still is in every racing game. Now i know that Grid_2 is replacement for Namco's Ridge Racer pure arcade racing game, it should be fun and simple but adding something that is lame / stupid / looks so poor that it almost convince me to not buying that game.

I hope it's better implemented than in Dirt 3 where hardcore mode was assumed to be for good, clean racers. As soon as the RallyX or buggy circuit races came around in the cycle, so many players just rammed.

It partly reminds me of when starting NFS: Shift, your driving style was evaluated by a sample race, clean or dirty. If that could be used to tag your account so that it only matched you online with others like you, then it'd be good. Not sure if that's possible though...

Exactly, what is your problem with drifting?

To me there is nothing wrong with drifting, its how most game developers implement it. If its the fastest way around the track thats where it becomes a problem. There is no way drifting should be the fastest way around the track in a RACING game. I bet if someone developed a strictly drifting game done right with proper scoring it be a huge success.

I didn't think of that. They might implement it that way, but all people would have to do is drive clean for one race, and then start racing dirty in clean rooms. But, they may have it where you can race dirty for 5 straight months, but if you wanted to start racing clean, you'll have to race clean for a long time afterwards.

GRID had one of the best drifting systems I had seen in a racing game. Very fluid and actually pretty fun to do. Easy to beat people though, so easy, but so hard for many.

Problem with drifting is that it's exists 💡 And then it's get even worse, because it's present in racing games. It's unacceptable to have drifting in any racing game except Ridge Racer.

I hope my answer is clear as it is stupid :)

Nor did I think of that :) just shows how naive I can be :sly:

Codies did have a flagging system for D3 which went from white to green, amber then red for how dirty you were - took a while of clean racing to change it.

You may call Grid 2 an arcade game but that doesn't make it a replacement for Ridge Racer which is a very unique and different game ;).

I haven't played Dirt 3, so I didn't know. But, I would really love how to see how they will implement it.

Since Singleplayer and Multiplayer is basically gonna have 2 separate careers, are you guys gonna hop straight online first?

Whats wrong with it existing? Its not exactly forced upon you in any of them (ironically all of which are games where multiple disciplines of Motorsports are present). In real life, it pretty much meets the core criteria of Motorsport (Which is a event involving the primary use of Motorized Vehicles) so I'm not getting why you seem to have a hate for it. Is It because its not an actual race?

I never said or implied it was stupid, I only asked a question.

I'm going to single player first. Although people will get that head start online, I'll easily catch up like last time around. I like to know how single player is, I don't understand why people hate them so much. But it also gives me a good feel for the game and I can then adapt when I move online. I tend move make my move when I'm around 60% done with the offline career.

I'll probably do both, well try to do both at the same time. I don't mind singleplayer. No assholes to deal with. I tend to just play with friends online to get the feel and then go public.

Hitler thought the same about Jews.

No worries, all one of the plus points of the community.

I'll not be rushing out to get G2 as there are a few other games out that will hold me more. I'll be doing SP then MP when I do though, SP to get a feel for the handling.
