Speaking of racing games, has anyone started a Car list yet? I've saw:

1. Dodge Challenger
2. 2011 Chevy Camaro SS
3. Ford Mustang GT500
4. Chevy C6 Corvette
5. McLaren MP4-12C
6.60's Mustang
7. 70's Camaro
8. Nissan Silvia
9. Nissan Skyline R34
10. KTM X-Bow
11. Ariel Atom
12. Lamborghini Aventador
13. Mercedes SLR McLaren
14. Pagani Huyaria
You forgot BAC Mono, BMW M3 E30, Koenigsegg Agera R and Zenvo ST1. Btw I must be blind but where did you saw a Dodge Challenger???

Sorry, but my inner Spelling nazi is coming out after noticing this. Its spelled "Huayra". Also, missing a car or too :)

Race Cars? Really?
Yes really. And you Sir, SuperStfuden need to relax a bit, at least try to respect other people's opinions even if you don't agree with. Race cars were the core part in Grid 1 toghether with the racing team management.

Now, if we only have road cars, Grid 2 is going to be very different.

You know, removing all Race cars in Grid, sounds like removing ALL Nissan and Mazda from GT5. Can you imagine? Some will like it some will HATE it.

After the Dashboard view thing, there's no need to piss people off even more.

For now I just hope they are in, just we haven't seen them yet.

If they are street cars, how will they be able to feature the same kind or better damage model then the original grid?

I thought the only way grid got away with being able to destroy the cars was because they were all race cars.

I still think the damage system is going to be very toned down. I think they are purposely showing us all these fast crash sequences in the vids but not letting us see any damage to get people thinking that the crashes will be great thus damage should be epic too.

I remember in grid they always showcased the damage, it's what the whole experience of the race was about. Now they seem to be avoiding it.

This Ian Smith Associate producer,

maybe I'm wrong, but he really looks like someone who don't like race cars and someone with questionable taste on car liveries. Maybe he had a key role in Grid 1 who knows, but after I've seen his face if you tell me Grid 2 is not going to have Race cars and Grid 1 style liveries.. well now I know why.

Hope to be proved wrong.

I could be harsh, well yes I am, but the second video looks like:

GRID 2, indie rock "I'm trying so hard to look clever and nerd but I don't have a clue" edition.

This is still Codemasters, and this is only the first real info on the game. CM is good at only showing what they want and keeping the rest quiet.

I don't think the In-car cam is gone FOR GOOD, at release yes but we live in an age where everything can be modified with downloads, so what aside from an angry mob would keep them from eventually releasing them as DLC or an update similar to GT5's 2.0 Update.

Race Cars? It's not a question of ARE there race cars, but how far you want to go with it. LMPs? Maybe not, and if EA has it's way there won't be a 911 at all, but almost all the Pro Street/Pro Muscle cars real world counterparts were likely modified for racing, if only a roll cage and tuning. But as I said three lines ago, DLC is a bigger option than it was in 2008, so don't fret too much unless like me you're cheap.

Someone said something about the bloom and filters? I'll put $5 says they're back. I must admit one thing, last time I really played Grid, I had a standard definition TV, and sudden light changes (Long Beach specifically) gave my eyes hell. I need to play again on my HDTV so I can see if it's the game or the TV.

Doesn't appear the livery system from Grid 1 is returning (yet), which is a bummer but it could be worse.

All I've got for now, still happy it hasn't been killed off in favor of three more Dirt spinoffs.

No Porsches ,Lambos or Ferraris will be present
Also is it safe to assume 90% of Formula one Gp circuits will make it

That bloody BMW, wowzers.

Okay, but seriously. CM have generated a helluva lot of hype in the next 24 hours, let's trust them with this one. I call all GRiD lovers to forget about Formula Bugs, Dirt 3 and Dirt Shambles.

I believe!

That's pretty optimistic.

Biffy
Well it's a refreshing change from all the negative comments in here.

Well if they do include it as an update then I will consider getting the game depending on how many more if any features they have removed or dumbed down.

As GamesRadar said. This game is focusing on doing what it does right, it isn't going to be playing the Numbers or Features game. Considering it's the same studio behind SEGA Rally Revo, I really do trust them.

That's a nice way of saying that they will have very little content and no new features.
And what it does right. What is that exactly.

It's like me saying that I do everything right but I don't really do anything.

This game has lost my interest. Unless something really positive emerges. I won't be posting here.
I hope who ever gets this game enjoys it.

Maybe you are right, maybe you are wrong. We won't know for just about another year, I highly doubt a game that will be in development for the same amount of time GT5 was will be bad.

But I understand why you maybe feel letdown. I will buy it and I hope I will enjoy it too. 👍

I just hope it doesn't have ridiculous physics for the AI. I remember being at least 20km/h slower in the corners than opponents who were in the same car/class in the original. 👎

Something I'm interested in learning about you guys: How did you approach Grid, did you try to play it as a sim or did you play it as an arcade racer? Just wondering if maybe that is what influecenced your varying degrees of experience with it.

With all the backlash Codies have received from releasing a trailer & interview, they may seriously consider their position on cockpit views.
It was a trailer, they are supposed to get people pumped up and excited about games and I cant remember any other game where a 2 min trailer did so much of the opposite.

I treated it as an Arcade game with some realistic elements. A total mix. Which is what it is, a decently measured, evenly blended cocktail of a Sim and the dev team's previous game; SEGA Rally revo.

To me it looks like Codemasters is going for a Grid For Speed title here. Taking alot of cues from EA on there decision making. Pump out as many games as you can as quick as you can and move on. Its working for EA so far. Who cares if its not great just release it and the kids will beg mom and dad to buy it.

Race Cars? Really? That's the complaint flavor of the day? What is this? The Baskin Robins of complaining? Can we PLEASE focus on the positive about this game instead of finding what's wrong with it? I mean, heck, look at Red Dead Redemption and GTAIV, those games are buggier than an ant hill and they're awesome. Why can't this game be great despite it's flaws?

RACE CARS?!?!? IN A RACING GAME?!?!?! OH MY WHAT A BIZARRE CONCEPT!!

I don't understand why we have to be positive if we don't like what we see? It's really not a strange concept, we're shown parts of the game and given information, it's our right to then say what we think based on that.

As for your last point, bugs and bad game design are two very different things.

How about you have to be positive because everyone's always being so negative and it gets REALLY old to come in here and just read complaints.

And...for an arcade racer...race cars are actually kinda rare. Besides, NFS Shift and Shift 2 didn't have any actual race cars, and everyone seemed to like them. But, this being a Grid game, I think just because we haven't see any race cars yet, doesn't mean there isn't any in the game. People are just being paranoid.

It's like...since GT5 didn't live up to a lot of people's expectations (I personally love it), everyone's scared that the racing genre has gone to crap. I think if you think that, you need to get an Xbox and play some Forza 4.

EDIT: Also, my vehicle list was a tentative one, not an actual one.

If I like the look of a game I'll be positive about it, if I don't, I won't. It's really very simple, check the Asseto Corsa, pCARS and WRC 3 threads for example. I've been positive about all three games because I like them. This, i'm not impressed with so far though.

Also there is a big difference between complaining and giving a negative opinion. They're not the same thing.

Here's a car list for Shift 2:

http://www.gamerzines.com/need-for-speed/news/shift-2-unleasheds-full-car-list/#

Just a few that caught my eye are the DBR9 GT1, DBRS9 GT3, BMW M1 Procar and Audi R8 LMS.

Here's one for Shift:

Much the same deal, plenty of racing cars there too. (edit: ok, not 'plenty', but some)

For what it's worth though, I do agree that people are jumping the gun a little. They need to have some stuff to show off as 'brand new' info to keep the hype up as time goes on, right?

...And having started the Hype-train all-guns blazing, let's hope they do have a lot up their sleeve.

Not getting involved in the argument but dude, you have no idea how wrong you are about that. Shift 1 has the BMW M3 GT2 & Shift 2 has both the FIA GT1 and FIA GT3 cars on there as well as the Falken Tire Porsche GT3 RSR and BMW M3 GT2.

''Codemasters has said it will ignore the trending of escalating the numbers of tracks and cars seen in other racers, and instead will focus on making the most immersive on-track experience available.

This will be achieved through a hand-picked car selection, a new 'TrueFeel' handling system that drops assists for a more intimate driving experience, improved lighting and damage models, as well as a more cinematic and artistic approach to presentation.

As well as a more open campaign that allows players to choose their own vehicles and courses, tracks will evolve as your position and stature in the racing world increases, adding more spectators and sponsors.

The racer will also make the full debut of Codemasters' RaceNet online service, offering a persistent identity across multiple games in the publisher's library.
Finally Flashback - a ground-breaking feature which debuted with the original GRID that allowed players to rewind the race and erase mistakes - will be revamped and given a full reveal at a later date.

"GRID 2 will represent Codemasters' largest ever investment both commercially and in terms of manpower," said executive producer Clive Moody.

"We have a hugely talented team here at Codemasters Racing and it's our intention to once again set new standards for the genre."

GRID 2 will be available on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in summer 2013."
