Yeah, racing against Dave Mirra in the one-on-one buggy challenge is tough. Make sure you set the gear setting all to the way to long on the buggies too. That makes them so much faster, it's ridiculous.

Just managed to get the Rush Hour trophy online, that was hectic. I am off to lie down in a darkened room for a while.

Yeah no kidding. Those things bounce off of the rev limiter like they depend on it for life...

 I've never seen so much carnage on a game before. Any race that has contact is like a demolition derby. It gets annoying but if you can get past everybody its usually a sure win. The worst is Raid T1 in Morocco when it goes from like a eight lane start to a one lane road, I just sit there for a couple seconds and pick my way through all the crashes :sly:.

Anyone else noticed how the NTSC version says "Dirt 2" in the friends list while the PAL version says "Colin McRae: Dirt 2"?

The coolest part of online is actually in jam sessions in my opinion, it lets you do Rally or Trailblazer with real staggered starts. Certainly makes it more fun, and less likely to be distracted by ghosts cars. However, there are some idiots who don't let you past when you catch up with someone slower than yourself...And then inveitably get rammed off the road.

Read my post again. I said you can't use it because of the water-blindness that other players don't get when using other views.

Ahh ok, you never actually mentioned anything about the water splashes so it just sounded as if you couldn't actually access your preferred view. But to the point it is annoying and exaggerated. It won't effect you in the Dallenbach or if you just crash enough to knock your windscreen out.

Yeah I know. And the cracked windshield is torture on the RS2000. But, hell, the cockpit view is just fantastic.

LOL I was gonna ask why everyone calls it Colin McRae Dirt 2 because the demo I downloaded and the game in the stores just say Dirt 2. Video game makers are so stupid sometimes! If anything it should be called Ken Block Dirt 2, but he is just a rich kid who bought his way in, completely unlike Colin McRae.

How can you say Ken Block is just a rich kid? He's a successful businessman and one hell of a driver to boot.

Colin McRae is of the superelite of drivers, but it's no reason to hate on Ken.

As Omnis pointed out Block is a successful businessman and the co-founder of DC Shoes. Not to mention he's 41, so not really a kid. And he also did start by doing armature rallying and what not.

If Ken Block wasnt rich he wouldnt be a race car driver, thus he is just like a rich kid- hasnt earned anything and bought his way to the top. If you watch him drive he is not on par with real drivers like Colin McRae, or Tanner Foust.

Tell me how being a businessman makes him a qualified rally driver? If any of us could go buy our own Rally car we would be just as good as him, and possibly more qualified, lol.

BTW I didnt hate on Ken Block, I stated facts.

Ken started off as a snowboarding bum. Then his friend talked him into going to school then they started DC. Ken met Travis and Travis got him a ride in a Subaru and he became rookie of the year. I like Ken, I think he did a lot and he can drive.

You do realise he didn't buy his way in right? He started off like any amateur racer does and proved himself. He just happen to have the money and time to allow him to compete at that level. He could have easily started racing and been awful, but when he entered Rally America he became the Rookie of the Year and did very well.

He is also not a rich kid, typically a rich kid has mommy and daddy buy everything for him. Block earned his money by developing a successful company. And I'll point out again he's 41, that's not really being a kid.

What I'm confused about is how this differs with McRae, all race drivers pretty much start off the same way.

So are you guys online or what? Let's get together and race Escorts.

I think I would say right after the ride with Ken is, "Okay it's my turn to drive." and see if I say scare the $@!# out of him. Nothing scarier that an amature driver going fast. He won't know if he's going to live through it. hehe! :scared:

Yeah, right.

I met Ken yesterday at the Rally America Colorado event, shook his hand, had him autograph my copy of DiRT2 and talked with him a bit. Great guy, one hell of a driver. (when he finishes) He was driving an underpowered car the whole weekend, since his was out of commission. (from a wreck...who knew) Quoted from the Rally America website today:

The lower-spec car is a big change for Block, whose aggressive style demands the high power available in his Open class car to pull him out of corners. Even so, he still managed to set the fastest time on the first stage of the rally and with just 12 miles of rally competition to go, he was more than four minutes ahead of his closest Super Production class challenger, Pat Moro.

If you ask me, DiRT 2 is no more Colin McRae Rally. It's now Ken ******' Block Rally. And who is that teen who always wears glasses anyway?! And second, for DiRT 2 you must have Windows 7 and DirectX 11, and that's all I need to say. And uses same engine like DiRT and GRID (Get RID of GRID).

DiRT 2 looks a heck of a lot better than DiRT 1 or GRiD on the PS3. It looks like a big step forwards for the engine.

I'm using DiRT 2 on the PS3 with a DFGT and basically just left all sensitivity and linearity settings default, as far as I can remember. The only change I did was to take the default 50%/100%/50% settings for environmental/Force/Steering weight and lower then to 20%/70%/30%. Try that?

I still don't understand Ken Block haters. ...Just because he's good at what he does and capitalized on it by making videos of doing what he loves.

He respects Colin more then anything. Him and Travis are always talking about how much they enjoyed talking and being with him. I doubt Ken is the kind of person that would want to try to be somebody. DiRT 2 is centered around him yes but I think he's just trying to keep it going. I think it's cool that Travis and Ken kept it going honestly.
