Prove it? Well, DiRT 2 proves this. As I said, there's no McRae, only Block and other famous guys. And in DiRT 2 I heard for the first time about that Block guy...
I think NISM0_SKYLINE is in some point right...

First up DiRT 2 does indeed talk about McRae a lot, it has a rally car named after him, it has stages as memorial races to him.

Secondly, google gymkhana. Watch Top Gear's piece on Ken Block. This guy has skills. He and X-Games sell copies in the US, no doubt, but he can drive.

The McRae R4 rally car is in the game, and the classic Escort rally car has a McRae livery. Plus the McRae memorial races and the memorial video that is shown afterwords. ;)

👍

And that it is called Colin Mcrae Dirt 2 in the PAL region.

Why do I hate Ken Block? Because he thinks he can replace Colin McRae. Sc*ew him.

I highly doubt Ken Block would want to replace someone who has been such an inspiration and a great friend to him.

This isn't Ken but I think Travis was in awe of Colin, I almost cried when I saw this on TV, and I don't care who knows

how does the g25 work in the full version compared to demo?

still too sensitive? (180 degrees)

I am enjoying Dirt2 with the G25, I don't find it too sensitive. I have the default settings in place and have not adjusted them. There were some adjustments provided earlier in the posts but I have not tried them. I started out playing Savage and have moved up to Hardcore. Really enjoy the game overall, Shift is in the Mail.👍

Hello guys. I have the ps3 version and a G25, and have beed fiddeling around with the setup. force feedback 30%, 70%, 40%. 5 % deadzone on steeringwheel, gas and brakepedals. steeringlinearity is set to zero. Works a lot better, not perfect thow. Brakes still feel a little wonky...

What works for U guys?

Thought I would post this up. Hard to see Ken Block's autograph because it's in silver sharpie. Travis Pastrana is on the bottom below the car.

Awesome!

I had probably my best Dirt 2 moment today. Racing online with 7 other high ranked players, I think I was around 3rd lowest level in the room, in a Domination with Trophy Trucks. I dominated every single section! I ended up getting abit of abuse from a couple with Mics saying that I must of cheated but the others were pretty cool and just congratulated me for being the first they'd seen to dominate a whole track. I've never seen anyone dominate an entire race either so I was pretty pleased with myself.

I got dirt2 last week. it is fun game. if anyone want to do long run times hit me up i will play with you. PSD ID: PositionZero
Here i took one screenshot. i love this sti!!!

Some people say cheating using 'wall riding' is possible in Dirt2, for example in Japan. Like GT5p at London I suppose.. anyway I just had a hectic couple of hours in Time Trial and am really happy to say that LA and London dont seem to be vulnerable to such crap.
If you want a dose of asphalt speed try the LA stage 'Marina Sprint'. The big jump at the start is followed by half a dozen connected corners that are really fast. I'm #1 there :)

Dirt2 is a great game.

Can any one else figure out why they got rid of Xover ???? I thought for sure that was going to be most of the game because Ken and Travis got it started in Xgames and yet even know ken, travis and xgames are all in the game they took it out of Dirt 2? Really not sure what happen there. honestly like it more then rallyX so kinda disappointing it was taken out considering it was in Dirt

DIRT2 is much improved over the first effort. The handling physics are second to none in the racing genre in my opinion and I have owned every racing game made for the Playstation console since launch in '95.

Without getting into the technicalities of what makes this a good game or not, the game offers laugh outloud entertainment for hours at a time in the online mode with great voice chat. A couple evenings ago, two friends and I decided to try some cars at tracks not normally open in offline. We opened the room to the public where some cool and some not so cool guys joined in. We laughed till we had tears at the shenanigans and epic crashes and still managed some really good racing at the same time.

This game has enormous potential :sly:

Oh, and BTW R1600Turbo ..... My IRL Indy car game (PS2) is signed by 9 of the drivers that are actually in the game :)

I agree, ive actually had accidents because ive been laughing so much at some of my friends and other players comments. DiRT2 is one of the best online experiences ive ever had:tup:, ive spent most of it in a MKII Escort:P.

Anybody else noticed the jack-o lanterns? Its become the default windshield decoration, there's a full size one in the trailer/campervan near the TV too.

I just bought this game two days ago and it's really good. I usually never cared much for rally games because I suck at it (I even owned Dirt 1 but never finished it), but Dirt 2 is different. The fun factor is definitely there and the driving physics suits me well too. It might very well be the first rally game I ever finished :D. Thank you Codemasters!

This game is silly online. If you don't know which corners to take unbelievable shortcuts on you have no chance of finishing close to the more experienced players in your room. Seriously just about every medium grade corner can be taken flat out if you go wide into it and cut really close to the wall or into the overgrowth.

I'm seeing a pattern in dominant cars emerging too:
Rally - 350Z or MKII Escort
Trailblazer - Dallenbach or Z4-M

I don't have a clue about the other events as I race Time Bomb mostly.

the leaderboards display the car used. the rs200 is dominant amoung cars.. the dallenbach is criticised for being too fast and also too easy to drive.

I don't think the Dallenbach is that fast at all. It can take corners much faster if you know how to control it but most of the time I see people late braking and drifting it round like a rally car, which is the slowest way. Brake early and drive it round the tightest line you can usually is alot faster. Plus it gets beaten by nearly every other Trailblazer car in a straight line drag. I'm sure any other Trailblazer car could beat a Dallenbach as long as they drive a tidy line and have a good exit speed from corners.

I'm sure the RS200 is dominant but I was stating cars under the Time Bomb Event in Pro Tour online. The 350Z and Dallenbach seem to be the cars that everyone chooses, or atleast, everyone wins in.

The RS200 is fast as hell. And it's even more of a blast to drive in rally mode. Talk about a handful...

sweetshopunion-- for someone reading this thread and wondering what cars, if any, are dominant, I mentioned using the leaderboards as a guide. Its a good guide. So keep on with your time bomb racing, but as a general answer to the question (for others): yes, there are key cars to use if you know what youre doing and are trying to make the absolute best time. The leaderboards will point the way.

p.s. i'm either in position #1 or #2 on the leaderboards, at the moment, in Japan, London, and an LA stage (all using a rallycross car.) So yeah.. I know what the fastest car is. :)

p.s.s. the leaderboards have rankings for each track that are 20,000 names deep. amazing!

Jam Sessions should not have the Kick function!!!

I joined a jam with a group of players, I presume they all knew each other (had mics, spoke the same language and had similar PSNs) and we were all playing nicely until the tournament restarted. I win the first 3 events, clean and fair, I just took an early lead and kept it. On the fourth event I presume they all decided to gang up on me as I was punted right from the off, nevertheless I kept fighting my way back while they kept trying the punt me off, two of them destroyed their cars trying! So the race is over and all of a sudden I get the message saying I've been kicked from the game. Damn I'm so annoyed that they have to be so petty as to kick me for their own mistakes and incompetence. I was just enjoying some fast, close racing and they have completely ruined Jam Sessions for me in one go now.
