Welcome sir. Please let me know your car choice when able, and begin the build and livery render to the series regulations when you can. PSN ID' s are listed for you to link up with other drivers on the roster. Random Practice sessions will be up over the next 2-3 weeks on the lead up to race night. Be sure to confirm if you can attend as soon as possible to ensure your priority on the grid. We currently have 12 drivers confirmed leaving 4 spots remaining for Event #1 at Watkins Glen. Any additional confirmations will be on Reserve. Any questions, let know. Welcome aboard.

I ran into the thread a week or so ago and I'd like to express some interest. Your series are always so good and I'd really like to get back into things. As always, the tuning aspect worries me but seeing some of the numbers with the priano tunes I was really encouraged. Id like to catch a practice room with you all and see.

Hi Fudman,
Great to see you peek in. All the cars at 650pp are quite close to each other in overall pace potential with some being stronger or weaker at given tracks...example, the Aston with the base Priano tune was fast at Road Atlanta, but isnt as strong at Watkins Glen. A few tweeks to get better bite out of the front end could make the difference. As in most cases, the tune is more about confidence than actually gaining pace. And, I have built an examples of each car for testing using a modified version of Priano's tune on each. Again, most are quite close overall. If you decide to sign up, I am always more than glad to assist in helping dial the car in, and I'm certain others with the same car may be open to sharing.

Sparring so far with @Phlano099 , @Bologna_Duc , and @socalnatv has yielded fast lap times within 2-3 tenths of each other, with the difference during races being lap consistency and mistakes. With everyone starting at 650pp, I expect there to be a few pace pockets across the field, but with PP concessions and handicaps being issued for podium finishers and drivers finishing outside the top 10, I'd expect the field to tighten up as the season progresses. I'll have a few practice rooms open throughout the week around 4-5pm est, and others may have a few pop up rooms over the weekend. (I know Harry, Sand, Phlano, Yugo, and Duc run laps on Sunday nights prior to SNAIL Sunday racing. Try to link up when you can. I hope you decide to join us.

I'm going to go with the McLaren 650S (GT4) for my car and I will be there on 4/21 to participate. I'll work on the livery over the weekend.

I don’t like tuning series either as they cater more to those with tuning prowess. But with the equalization aspect throughout the season I finally realized it doesn’t matter how much time I am losing by not spending hours tuning/testing/tuning/tuning :) I will just run it stock and enjoy it like a snail Sunday night where we adapt to the cars. I’m pretty good at adapting to the car, not so much tuning for hours and hours 😎

Tuning is basically reverse handicapping where everyone else starts with an advantage. So we can catch up using the system :)

And to piggyback this, most of us don't spend alot of tine fine tuning. Maybe I speak for myself, but typically I use the Priano tune as a base, then make a few small tweaks to my liking for additional confidence and consistency and then leave it alone. I originally would set gearing from track to track, but I dont even do that anymore. And a point to note: while testing the Camaro at Road Atlanta, I initially tested it in its base setup and then with the tune. It only resulted in about 6-7 tenths of extra fast lap pace, but made the car much more confident and able to replicate those laps consistently. As said many times over, tuning will not yield that extra 2-3 seconds of fast lap time, but the consistency of a good tune will yield that extra 5 tenths per lap that over a race equals up to the difference of a few seconds. This is where the PP handicapping and concessions will come in to offset the varying pace and consistency, and hopefully bring the field even closer together. Either way, I am expecting some great racing for this series.

I copied over the settings and tune last night but just want to run some laps before I commit to it.
I've also upgraded my internet speeds and now have a wired connection.

Is time trial a fairly accurate representation of the lobbies? In gt sport I was under the assumption that we needed to open a lobby even if you just did friends only max 2 players to give an accurate representation. Would be nice to turn some offline laps for practice.

My offline lap times in time trial mode and online lobbies lined up directly...pace and feel was the same.

Made a slight change to my livery...
