My sentiments exactly. It doesnt look as though the PSN will be back online anytime soon either, so. It is with regret that for the very first time a concours event has to be cancelled! :(



However, I'm sure most of you will be familiar with another way we can compete :D

You have until friday 12pm BST, so post your fastest times on each circuit in this thread! Competitors can update their progress in the thread at any time, but each persons fastest submission must be labelled FINAL ENTRY and accompanied with a fastest lap replay for verification by club members. Ala WRS. OLR still stands, and for visual confirmation of regulations pertaining to clean laps, please see a track based WRS event for clarification.

Happy hunting guys 👍 And as we wont get to see each other on track this weekend, how about posting a few snaps in here with your times ;)

I'd also like to note that this combo WILL be revisited at some point in concours, but there will be a new combo for next week posted up on tuesday.

So what to do? Practice for next sunday, or get faster for friday!? Mmmm decisions

What about we do something different and you choose a car from the Premium dealer, only allow oil change and we do a lap around Top Gear Test Track??
Ofc the car would have to fit in the Resonably ... car. lol
 
This sucks! but hey what can we do about it, just need to practice and wait for shins new death toy on tues. hopefully catch you guys online soon
 
Certainly is a bummer. Slightly annoying that Sony aren't updating us as often as I'd like either. Oh well, fingers crossed it doesn't last too many weeks!

On a concours note, I had time for a few laps around the Nurburg GP circuit this morning. Fastest lap so far is 2'09.622. I think there's atleast another second out there though 👍
 
well their having to rebuild the servers or something like that so god only knows how long that'll take, but read that it could be down for a week at least so we're looking at wed or thurs fingers crossed it's back up and running for the weekend
 
cool that's way past me i'm nearer glasgow, but if the weather stays good then it's amazing up there. you could try haggis hunting!
 
Excellent idea running this as a TT captain, keeps me occupied while the servers are down 👍

Had a quick 5 lapper at each circuit this evening and got these times:

La Sarthe - 3'51.172

Nurburgring GP/F - 2'09.135

Fuji Speedway/F - 1'47.457

Got some nice piccies, but can't put them up yet as I'm posting this from my PS3, so I'll put them in with my final times on friday.

A real shame we couldn't race these on sunday as this car is fantastic...I love it!! But I'm glad we're going to get the chance to again at some point. In the meantime, best of luck with the TT guys 👍
 
Damn were on page 2. Any plans for this weekends combo Roh? Hopefully PSN will be up because this whole sub-forum is dead and every series has had to cancel.:(
 
Troubling times indeed. If I'm completely honest though, I've made the most of being offline for so long. I even went outside! :lol:

With all this uncertainty I think I'm going to postpone concours competition indefinetely. Sorry to Crispy and anyone else who put a little time into the TT this week, but judging by this thread not enough people are interested. Which is to be expected I suppose... We want to RACE!!!


What I'll do is once PSN is back up and running, I will organise an event for the weekend after everything has been sorted. Ie if PSN should be back this friday, Concours wont return until a week on sunday. I will put up the new criteria and bump the thread, and I will also notify registered members by way of personal messages on PSN.

Hope thats satisfactory gents. Not a lot else we can do for now :(
 
Yep, I'm in agreement with that too Captain 👍

By the way, seeing as I'm the only one to put up a time at the three tracks in the LFA, does that mean I automatically win, hehe :sly:

Seriously though, this is just something we're unfortunately just gonna have to ride out, until Sony fix it, as it sounds like they've got to rebuild the whole PSN :crazy:

Sad times indeed. What a mess... See you around guys. Life continues in GT5 even w/o PSN. I hope there is a nice patch coming though with save game feature in endurance and replay control plus some tracks.

this is sad news for concours and the psn community, will just have to wait and see how long it takes sony to get their finger out and get the service sorted and up and running again, in the mean time i suppose i'll fire into my licenses and other things i ain't got gold on. catch you guys on the black stuff soon. t:up

May be another week before PSN is back up; just in time for Turkish grand prix?

I am catching up to you Akmuq in WRS 11 :) significant improvement today after only a few laps; more to come :sly:

Or the F40. I had it in my garage for a while, and had never driven it. Yesterday took it to the track and oh boy... That turbo kicking in in mid/high rpms its just nuts. :drool:

But there's no reason we can't get together this coming sunday for some races...I'm sure between the lot of us we can come up with something if The Captain hasn't already got something up his sleeve already :sly:👍

But like Jack and Kamy I'm all up for using more of the race modded cars, and I also feel that yes, the F40 is an awesome beast of a car and should definitely be raced...great fun and very scary at high speeds, haha
 
F40!!! Monster on whells... and myth! I remember a comparison between F40 and P962 Le Mans Race Car in a AMS magazine in 90-91. The acc numbers were stuggering for both if power numbers were taken into account.

Basically this!

As soon as PSN is operational Concours will have a new event. I expect normal service to resume before the week is out, but concours wont be back until the 14th.


However,... as soon as PSN is operational, you can bet your bottom dollar i'll be online and racing! Practices, random touring champs.. It'll all be back!

And since you all seem to be in favour of more RM cars, I dont mind telling you that I already had one in mind ;) I cancelled the LFA to bring back Concours with a close competitive combo! So watch this space for details :)


Appreciate all the posting guys thank you 👍 And I definitely share all the enthusiasm for the F40!

My F40 had some great battles with Crispy's Muira :D
