Yet another fantastic racing weekender, F1 earlier on, BTCC this afternoon and Concours this evening 👍

Really looking forward to tonight, especially after the practice sessions earlier on in the week, which were fantastic and so, so close :D And with all this motorsport going on...I'm feeling pretty racey today :sly:

See you tonight guys

Yea looking forward to the races tonight, just watcing the BTCC aswell, i think the races will be like the touring cars, nudging and bumping cars, as it will be "very" closing racing

hopefully we get a load of people turn up tonight :D

Hey guys, only just got in so i'll be updating the thread tomorrow. Nice to see all of your feedback from last night though :irked:

Help me keep the thread fresh and active guys, its the only way we'll achieve full grids 👍

That it WAS a great nights racing and I cant wait for the next! I'm putting us in one of my favourites this week :D I need to claw back an overall win from crispy. 4-3 mate ;) You're not out of sight :P

Yea was great racing last night.... i just got my wheel and i have to say that im totaly rubbish at the moment lol i hope its worth the money ha

Sorry Captain, this is the first chance I've got on the pc today, hectic day at work, especially as a certain Chevy Touring car fuel cell came back for a check-over today after a bit of a battering yesterday 👍

Anyway, what can I say about last night other than I enjoyed every minute of it :D

Race 1 - Started on pole, and after a few laps battling with Cpt D, I managed to pull out a lead which I managed to hang onto until the chequered flag.

Race 2 was just awesome, swapping positions with Paginas and Shin for the first half of the race, when I noticed them catching up to a couple of backmarkers as we approached the pit entrance. Hoping to take advantage of the situation I took a dive into the pits, with the chance Shin and Pag would get held up a little :sly:

It worked!! Shin and Paginas pitted on the following lap, and as they exited I managed to get the jump on Shin, with Pag re-joining right ahead of me...race on!! Cue furious final laps, with only the tiniest of contact between the three of us. Coming into the final corner on the last lap, I held third, until Paginas went slightly wide on corner entry, I made use of the opportunity, and took a dive down the inside into second place just behind Shin....thanks you two for a thrilling race

Race 3 was equally as fantastic with myself and Shin fighting hard until the pit stops. Shin went in a lap before me, and luck must have been on my side, as I think he got held up slightly and I re-emerged from my stop just ahead. Furious battle - take two!! I somehow crossed the line in first place with Shin .017 seconds behind. Another fantastic race, and a massive thanks to Shin again, who really kept the pressure on the entire race, forcing me to defend every corner 👍 I really had a sweat on during that race

In summary, two wins and a second place heralded another great weekend, and got me one overall win over Shin...me likey :sly:

Thanks to everyone who turned up this weekend, it was a fantastic combo, and to those who have a peek in this thread and haven't signed up yet, you really should get involved and join us on track. We've got a great group of regular, fast, clean racers, but we're always welcoming to those who'd like to join in...so come on guys, what you waiting for...get involved :D 👍

Strange weekend on my side. Didn't catch the start of the 1st race as I was adjusting my brakes. Got kicked out of the server in 2nd lap of the 2nd race. Didn't return as it was late and I had to wake up early on Monday. happy to hear about having great races upfront though. Well done guys.

Well, it all started off fine in the first race at Madrid, managing to chase after Crispy following the first corner incident after the start whilst being pursued by Kamy and Pag.We all hit the pits at the same time and rejoined in the same order, but after brushing the barrier at the hairpin a couple of times Crispy was away for another
victory, leaving Kamy, Pag and myself exchanging 2nd place in a great race for the remaining laps  Fourth place was to be my best result of the evening.

The following two races are not worthy of comment for me, very disapointing, you could say disastrous! Never mind, there's always next time. 👍

Yep you're right Cpt.
We must do our part to help spreading the word of the Concurs. :sly:
Didn't practice much in this car so i was slower than the top guys.
First race after the 1st turn chaos i managed to get a good fight with Cpt D and Paginas, swaping positions frequently. I bumped Paginas really hard once braking to the last bend. Sorry... But you deserve that. :)
In the pit stops i lost a bit of ground, because my car had to slown down while other cars stopped, but i managed to get to fight with the same guys again, as they were fighting eachother. Meanwhile Crispy was gone in 1st place.
I almost got Paginas to pit in the last lap, as i didn't realize he was so close to the wall. lol
Other races didn't went so good for me.

Please let this week be all real tracks Cpt. lol

Thanks for the increased activity guys, much appreciated :)

As for the weekends racing I had a blast! Racing was hectic at the front and very enjoyable. As some people found out though, myself included, one mistake and you could lose out big time! So the pressure was massive! Great fun though, cape ring and eiger especially. Madrid was a total wash out, apologies for the turn one incident, I made a critical error in braking and tagged both Crispy and Burr. That wasnt the problem though, as everybody following either didnt have time to react or decided to just keep their foot in! Chaos ensued. I kept my head down and salvaged two positions so not a total loss. However it dashed my hopes of a podium top spot :( Only myself to blame.

Eiger was great. I had the pace and I was confident I could keep the lead if anyone was close behind me. Eiger is very easy to defend at for obvious reasons. That said I was under pressure the whole race. From turn one to the finish line! (mostly from Pag who obviously made it his mission to destroy my rear bumper!) I think I had the lead for all but a couple of laps, as I say I was under immense pressure and I craked at the crucial sweeper before the uphill. Got a wheel off track, but managed to keep it pointing forward, chased down Paginas and we both pitted a lap or two later. Crispy obviously put in a good out lap as he didnt lose any time on me and Pag and also capitalised. I was looking to get past as quick as possible. Paginas made an error in the same corner as I did and Crispy snook past. I was right up close so I latched onto his bumper and we passed Pag in a train. A few laps later I got my nose ahead coming out of the tunnel and forced Crispy to get out of the throttle. Job done. :P

At cape it was a little more tactical and a little less tense. Well, apart from the opening couple of laps. Lap one I started on pole and led a very scruffy lap to the final corner. I got on the grass and turning onto the main straight I went from 1st to 6th! I wanted the win badly, and so I set about everyone infront of me. I got Kamy into turn one, washed out a little wide but held the line to be on the inside for two. Charging up the hill I out braked Paginas into the tricky unhill chicane. At the hairpin beyond Burr tried a move around the outside of CapD going down towards the downhill sweeper. I poked my nose in behind Cap and Burr was left stranded on the outside. In the final turn CapD made a mistake and I got past and onto Crispy's bumper. From then on in we hastled each other contantly, changing positions, forcing errors, defending, diving  It was awesome! And there was only 0.017 in it at the end!!

Although I had some good races it wasnt good enough this week. I made that critical error in race one and it cost me.

As a side note Crispy made a brilliant effort in a bid to win all three races and score maximum points. Alas he only won two as I stole victory at eiger. And I would of won at Madrid too if it werent for you pesky kids! :D haha 👍 So that means the feat is still as yet unacheived. Make it your mission folks!

Anyway, enough babbling and onto the important stuff. Race results and new criteria updated! Enjoy

Damn im gutted im going to miss this as im going up to scotland for the week, i also would of loved to test my wheel racing you guys at those GREAT tracks youve picked.

i will be back for the week after tho

Enjoy guys, take some photos for me :D

Ooh...the LFA!!! Excellent choice Captain, and weren't we having a race in these around Cape Ring when you told me about your idea for Concours...as I remember there was just the three of us in that race, but it was great fun 👍

Excellent choice of track too...looking forward to this one :D

What a screamer! Nice choice you did there Shin. I am sure to miss the last races due to the Resurrection which in Greece is celebrated at late Saturday night. I hope to participate in the first race at least. I like LFA and this french track even w/o the esses...

Keep in mind without the 'backmarkers' you'll be first in a 4 car grid race!

I sneaked a 4th place at the Ring-I pitted on lap 13 :sly:

er i dont even know myself, its a last minute thing with my girlfriends parents (her dad his scottish), i will find out :sly:

Buddum tschhhhh!!! lol 👍

Yep you're right. The inspiration for concours came from this very car. Hence its rightful place in the concours banner 👍 Its a brilliant machine, but I have a reservation..

Basically, if you use TC this week you're laughing. It makes such a massive difference I'm thinking of splitting the results for users and none users. I dont wish to change how I play GT just to be competitive. I'd rather lose and know I challenged myself.

That said it is a difficult combo, and some might use TC as a necessity, which is perfectly within the rules of concours.

So what do you guys rekon? Split it? Or accept the challenge? Actually, now I put it that way I think I made up my mind....

i use tc in rear wheel drive cars simply because i find it difficult to control them, u seen me in the sls! i just don't have the feel for rwd but am learning how to control my throttle a bit better now. i don't know if it's the way i have my fb set on my wheel or i just need more practice

Sounds like fun. I'll be there this week. I've been a bit busy of late and have been on a course for the past 4 days:irked:, and not being able to play GT, unless I used a controller, made me want to play it even more:crazy:.

I haven't driven the LFA yet but it sounds like a beast, what with all this talk of TC.

I'll catch you guys on Sunday if not before. 👍

Lets hope PSN is back up on Sunday or we will face the first postponement/cancellation of concours.:nervous:

Seeing how this race series is arranged, how or what way should I go regarding to join the series?

It looks interesting, if it's possible to enter late in the "season".

NEVAAR!!

Concours will find a way!! If the un-speakable happens keep your eye on the thread, i'll have a nice back up plan :sly:

We live in hope though guys, i think this'll be an enjoyable combo :)

Nice to have you back finally Douqa 👍 I'll see you on track this sunday

:D

Check the first few posts thoroughly Fishy. Respond in the thread and you're good to go! There is no season to speak of, we just have friendly competitions each week 👍

I really hope PSN goes back online by tomorrow night, I really enjoy racing with you guys every sunday 👍

And those who witnessed my over-the-top LFA when we tested last week will be pleased to learn that I have now opted for a less lairy and visually assaulting paint job

Hopefully (He says with crossed fingers) i'll see you guys tomorrow night!

Saturday, noon, was hoping to practice with you guys but PSN still down.

Without any practice it will be interesting!
