Well look forward to GT5 being your first example then. It still isn't going to be suicide though.

suicide not literally LOL of course they will sell millions of copies whatever the quality of the game is (but you should consider future consequences on the franchise)...anyway what I meant : it is not good for marketing reasons to let people play and record videos of demo builds all around the world that arent representative of the final game...

Okay I see your point, but mine was that sometimes things just happen. If Polyphony did remove promised features, you can bet it was because it was due to a reason out of their control. They had to do it. It wasn't because they wanted to screw their loyal fans over or anything like that. It was because those features, in the full game, didn't work out. It would have been worst to keep them there.

PD can always patch this stuff in later.

They removed sparks didn't they? What reason could there possibly be for that? They even showed them off in a trailer.

I completely forgot that sparks were even suppose to be in the game. I don't recall seeing any from the videos upload in the last week.

of course I agree with this, if they removed it than they thought its better for the game, but I dont think thats what happened, I am sure GT5 have a real damage model for rally and nascar cars like the demos, if not than I will be shocked (like I was shocked before with the removal of online at the last moment in GT4)

I've played the Best Buy demo, and the physics in that were incredible. So if it is changed in the final version, i'll be disappointed. Will just have to wait and see how it all turns out though. I really cannot wait to get my own copy of the game. I'm still really excited and this is the only game I can think about.

Sounds like they had so many different things on the go.
Then Sony step in and say enough, release the damn game.
Pd hurriedly put together what they got, found out it all wouldn't bolt together so they dropped stuff.

Hope I'm wrong.

Usually game demos state that they are not representative of the final product. I think they do this so they won't be labeled with false advertising in case they have to remove or change anything.

Focus Kaz, focus. As much as I admire your enthusiasm, you've let it get the best of you and now you have a damn scrap blanket.

not really for this reason, it is more that : they fear bugs and slowdowns in demos (not representative of the final game if they fix those issues) so generally the final game is better than the demo in almost all games...

maybe except for GT5 LOL I hope not...wait and see....it would be maybe a first in the history of gaming that a demo is better than the final game, craziness...but I dont think its the case, I repeat : I am sure there is something fishy and the career mode we could unlock the full damage...

Stop posting this.

I will actually repeat it lol :

Yes we could unlock the full damage in GT5 (by participating in some events, or by turning on some options...w e will see), I dont believe the damage in this game is only what we have seen in the leaked videos (that would be illogical) 👍

good point too 👍

Yep, good point... BUT, the beauty with the old separate Standard/Pro system was that Pro/Standard driver's lap times could be judged separately. I think this is invaluable as someone with ABS/TCS/StabControl/SkidControl, etc. is going to achieve faster lap times FAR easier than stupid ol me driving with Pro....

But then I guess this also depends on how these aid have been implemented, for example, if manual gearbox shifts were a Pro feature then they should allow quicker up/down shifts than Auto.... I.e. I hope that peeps using Aids are handicapped in a way that limits them somehow ;)

Isn't it less logical to not believe what you see with your own eyes and to discredit a copy of the game becuase it's leaked (as if they pressed to fully retail looking copies, but one without features)?

And how would you feel if the illogical was true and these features are indeed fully missing?

What the hell is going on Kaz? Why in the hell would you take off the feature for painting rims for standard cars? This is really sad man. I mean 800 cars you have to keep the stock rims and and cannot change them like in GT4. Does anyone know why they did this? It sort of makes the game not worth getting, when you do cuts like that.

The customisation is looking a bit toned down , But the paint shop looks great but everything else should be available on most cars ! I'm disappointed because tuning and wheels were a big part of GT4 3,2,1 so..... why isn't it on 5 as much ? anyway still can wait for November 23rd / 24th depending on Postman pat 👍

Someone just stated this in the damage video
"@tekken90CZ he means difficulty, not physics. if you do an arcade race, it'll ask for AI difficulty : A, B, or C. select A and you'll have full damage. and from trying it my self, I must say the damage is pretty good. but think about it, once we get good at the game we won't be crashing anyways so we'll never see it beyond the first few days or weeks"
So I'm not give up hope yet.

I added the hood cam in my list of things that were present in demos and not in the full game.....

also there was a hood view in some demos, why the hell remove this view from the full game ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thats inexcusable from polyphony...I could understand the logic behind standard cars, or limited damage...but creating a hood view than removing it ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly I could understand why there is only 220 premium cars, why the damage is limited, why some important cars and tracks werent included, why we dont have weather and day/night transition in all tracks, why the track editor is limited, why we have 2D trees...etc etc etc

I could understand all that because there is a logic behind those decisions (mainly resources limits, be it technical, human, financial...etc), but what I cannot understand is this : Why in the hell remove great features for the full game that were already implemented in demo versions ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am specifically shocked by the removal of a hood view...thats inexcusable...

Why ?!!!!!!!!! whats the logic behind that ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the hood view was already present, why removing it ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

can anyone please who have an idea explain this to me ?

There's something not right about these stolen/leaked copies.. They can't be full version.

I would love to believe so and that the REAL full version has so much more that we haven't seen... but it really makes no sense that such a situation would exist.

Well, to be honest it's kinda a waste of brain capacity to even think about this subject before we have the copy in our own hands, checking it out and compare to what the leaked stuff we have seen. I have yet to see any of the owners mention how or where they got it. So, if it is a sloppy retailer or a back street purchase, we can't know.

Im just glad we get some eyecandy to fill the void the next week, I could not be bothered if it was a demo, review or the full version. Either way,it looks awesome.

Other than the 'Standard + rims' debacle, I'm pretty pumped. Bring on the new physics so I can learn to suck all over again... in inclement weather.

👍
